Candice Michelle... WWE's Sexy Goddess

Q-1:You had a nose injury and some surgery recently…

I did. I was wrestling just over two weeks ago with the Women’s Battle Royal for an opportunity to go up again Mickie James for the championship belt. [It] came down to me and Victoria and I thought I could come back and actually have a chance and she ended up kicking me in the face towards the end of the match and broke my nose.

Q-2:Was there a lot of blood?

No, it wasn’t a lot of blood; the blood kind of came out more on one side when I got back, but it was more so the swelling that was kind of freaking me out. And I could see the bruising that was starting to come already and then just the fact that anything that’s broken on your face... it’s kind of a scary thing. We have a surgeon that’s on staff there all the time, and he told me that I have a deviated septum and pretty much the only way to fix it is to have surgery. It’s kind of a, I think more being scared, and you’re adrenalin, and you’re kind of freaked out; you’re like, “Oh my gosh, what’s gonna happen?” and “What is my face going to look like afterwards?” and “What doctor is going to be able to squeeze me in at the last notice?”

Q-3:How much has Go Daddy helped your career?

Go Daddy has been extremely influential in launching my career, and even today they still play an important role in my life. I’ve been in L.A. now for eight years... I can’t believe I’ve been out here [that long]. It goes by so fast. You know, I was just a girl with a dream in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who packed her car when she was 19 and moved to L.A. I’ve been working so hard to get my career to a point where people can notice that I’m even out here in L.A. and trying to be an actress and working with the WWE and then Go Daddy. They had an amazing commercial that launched in the Super Bowl and it got great attention and it really got my name out there. So, I’m just very thankful for them.

Q-4:Are there plans for a Go Daddy commercial in the 2007 Super Bowl?

Actually, yeah. Go Daddy has just announced that they’re committed to advertising in this year’s Super Bowl. I think it’s gonna be one of our best Super Bowl commercials yet. You can stay updated on... BobParsons.com. It’s a blog where he updates you on what’s going on. Last year we had a hard time getting into the Super Bowl, that was the problem... This year, he’ll keep everybody updated on the changes and what’s going on and, hopefully, when that big day is when they say that you’ve been accepted to be in the Super Bowl (laughs)… so that’ll be really exciting for all of us.

Q-5:Did you contact Playboy or did they contact you?

They actually contacted me… with WWE to do a spread together with them. So... that was actually a dream of mine... to become a Playmate. So, for me to be able to get the opportunity to do the cover and to grace it as a celebrity was taking my dream to a different level that I never even expected it could go to.

Q-6:Were you nervous to bear it all knowing that millions of men would be viewing your images and were you married at the time?

(Giggles) Well, when I did the shoot... they just put together such a great team to make me feel comfortable -- it’s a closed set. You have you’re stylist that’s getting clothes that you feel -- or barely any clothes, maybe jewelry (laughs) -- that you feel beautiful wearing, a pair of sunglasses... But I mean, you don’t really think of the fact that millions of men are really going to be looking at it, you’re just kinda focusing on giving your best shots and putting together a really great shoot. Arny Freytag was the photographer and he just makes you feel comfortable… you almost forget that you’re naked. It was actually a great experience for me.

I was married at the time (laughs). Actually he was really, really excited for me. I even have a picture of him when he was able to buy a copy off of the newsstand, he sent it to me over on my phone and so, he was a proud husband.

Q-7:Given your Go Daddy persona, which is pretty bubbly, has it been difficult to be taken seriously?

No, actually. I think people realize that -- well, some people realize that -- I’m playing a character on a show. Part of that is really my personality, you know bubbly. To be honest the day that we shot that commercial… I woke up with the worst flu you can ever imagine. So, me shooting that commercial I did not feel very bubbly that day, I just pushed through... It came out great and I’m just really glad that everybody got the bubbly character out of me that day (laughs).

But, about being taken serious, I think it’s kind of a facade in Hollywood; some people are always like, “Oh, if you want to be an actress, you know, you’re doing all sexy scenes or you’re doing the stripper scenes or you’re a wrestler or you play this bubbly character.” And you know it’s really about acting. I mean you put me in front of a dramatic scene and you’ll see a different side of me. I think that if I take myself seriously then Hollywood will take me seriously. If I don’t have my head on my shoulders and I come off as being a flimsy, then that’s what Hollywood will see also. So it’s really, I think, in my hands.

Q-8:Did you like wrestling as a kid? If so, who was your favorite wrestler?

I did actually. Me and my stepdad watched wrestling every night it was on. I even went to the wrestling shows when they came to Milwaukee. I remember sitting in the third row and the Bushwhackers came down and they slapped my hand... I was actually really into it when I was a kid.

Our basement was all done up and we had Hulk Hogan posters, I even remember a Hulk Hogan doll that we had. It was kinda me and my stepdad’s little time away to go and do those things... We had a great time watching it.

Q-9:Do you think that women are too sexualized in wrestling, given the pillow fights and the fact that you were once Vince McMahon’s sex slave?

(Laughs) Well, when you’re the boss I guess you can make some people your sex slave. I actually pride myself on bringing some sexiness into the wrestling business. There’s enough men out there, but it’s another thing when you see a hot girl that’s sexy and she can wrestle. I mean, you don’t want to see a girl that looks like a guy that can wrestle because you’ve got all the men on the show that can wrestle... There’s just something sexy about an athletic female... I sex it up even more beyond just being a female; I make it the sexy goddess who goes out there and wrestles. So, it gives guys something else to look at and it’s a little change of pace in the show. I think having both together, the men and the women, is what makes it a great show.
Q-10:Can you tell us about about your signature move, the Candylicious? And, are you going to steal the "Fergalicious" song?

It’s a move where I’m on the top rope and I get the other girls head wrapped between my legs and I flip over the back so my legs choke them while I’m leaning over the side of the ring. However, I’ve been working on some other moves, so I’m just waiting for a chance to really come back.

Well I love Fergie, so if I ever have the opportunity to come out to her music or put a move to the “Fergalicious” that would be great. Maybe I could do move on Fergie though, I think that might better.

Q-11:Is there a single golden rule that you think that all men should live by?

I think men need lots of rules (laughs). I heard on a TV show one time… a really great golden rule. The guy had said that whenever his wife asks him something he says, “Yes dear.” And I think that is a great relationship (laughs). But men don’t really learn that until they’re married for 30 years.

Q-12:What has been your most extravagant purchase?

My gift to myself after I did the cover of Playboy was to get a Rolex. I think that’s been my most extravagant purchase. I figured it’s something to remind me of getting that opportunity and it’s something I can use on a daily basis, and hopefully would never break down.

Q-13:If there was one thing that you could change about your career so far, what would it be?

I wouldn’t change anything. I have done so many different things in my past; from A to Z, I’ve been there. I’ve been from calendars to certain car magazines to even my heroic Hotel Erotica that everybody talks about... I’ve learned so much from everything that I’ve ever done. I’ve learned what I want to do and who I am and what I don’t want to do. I’ve learned how to say “No” to certain projects... Everything has made me who I am to this day. I think they’re all great choices; it makes me who I am.
