----- Chyna received the Gutsiest Athlete award for women in the year 2000 from Jane magazine. Speaking of the Ninth Wonder of the World, she will be making an appearance at Sam Goody Central at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota on Wednesday, January 10 at around 6 PM. It will be in the Sam Goody Central Rotunda and she will be autographing copies of her fitness video, Chyna Fitness: More Than Meets the Eye. [Nathan Mayers]

01/08/01 Monday Night Raw
Michael Cole interviewed Chyna about her injuries, and the Ninth Wonder of the World said that she did want to come back to wrestling, but she was very disappointed she wouldn't be able to participate in the Royal Rumble. She said that, for now, she was going to watch Billy Gunn defeat Val Venis in a lumberjack match.  [wwf.com]

Triple H, Kurt Angle, Rikishi, Chyna and Mick Foley will all be apart of the upcoming WWF Titantron Series 9 action figures. [Mike Franey]

----- The WWF's Chyna will be doing another Playboy layout sometime this year. With the success of her last issue, Playboy has asked her for a second issue. Both parties have come to terms and there will be a second issue coming out in the later part of the summer.

----- Look for WWF to give Chyna another push upon her return to WWF. The push started on Raw Is War when the interviewed her to let fans know she is still around. They also had Billy Gunn staying on the side of Chyna by speaking up for her to help her out by getting revenge on the RTC. When Chyna returns in a month or so look for some hot feuds to go on with RTC and the team of Billy Gunn and Chyna which will eventually lead up until the WWF WrestleMania 2001 pay-per-view event on April 1st. WWF plan to put Chyna directly back in action with non stop matches with RTC and possibly having some type of "Special" match that will heat things up even more. I will, like always, keep you updated on this situation.

The World Wrestling Federation’s auction site is now selling autographed copies of the Playboy magazine which featured Chyna. Head on over to WWF.com for more information on their auction site and how you can buy an autographed copy of the Playboy featuring Chyna.

01/14/01 Sunday Heat
Ivory -- the World Wrestling Federation Women's Champion -- headed to the ring, and Chyna was the topic of conversation. Ivory said that if Chyna was anxious to return to the ring, then she wanted to step into the ring with her! Ivory said she was sick of Chyna touting herself as a champion of women's rights, when Ivory reasoned that Chyna was a cancer to the image of what women should be. Ivory said that Chyna looked healthy in her interview on RAW -- and Ivory then claimed that Chyna was bluffing about her injury, and that Chyna was afraid to step into the ring with her! Ivory said that she would put her Women's Championship on the line against Chyna if the Ninth Wonder of the World would return to the ring! [wwf.com]

01/15/01 Monday Night Raw
The Hardy Boyz and Lita brought the sold-out crowd at the Bradley Center to its feet as RAW kicked off! The extreme trio took on Ivory, Steven Richards and Val Venis of the Right to Censor. Soon Ivory and Lita were battling in the ring, when Chyna came down to ringside! As Ivory tried running from Lita, Chyna threw the Women's Champion back in the ring! A shocked Ivory couldn't believe what she was seeing -- and Lita took advantage, hitting the Twist of Fate for the 1-2-3!

After the match, Chyna accepted Ivory's challenge from Sunday Night HEAT -- and the Ninth Wonder of the World will face Ivory for the Women's Championship this Sunday at the Royal Rumble!

Live from WWF New York, Billy Gunn said he was behind Chyna 100 percent at the Royal Rumble, even though he thought it was too soon for his friend to return to the ring. [wwf.com]

01/18/01 Thursday Smackdown
Jerry Lawler got in the ring and introduced the Chicago Enforcers XFL cheerleaders to the crowd! But as the cheerleaders prepared to do their first cheer, Steven Richards and Ivory of the Right to Censor headed to the ring! Mr. Richards told the cheerleaders to get out of the ring, or else he and Ivory would throw them out! As the cheerleaders ran from the Right to Censor, Ivory claimed that the XFL cheerleaders were just glorified hookers!

Lawler told Mr. Richards and Ivory that he had a feeling they might come out, so he brought out a surprise of his own -- Chyna! The Ninth Wonder of the World -- who faces Ivory this Sunday at the Royal Rumble -- gave the Women's Champion a monstrous powerbomb, as The King tossed Mr. Richards from the ring! [wwf.com]

01/19/01 Internet News
Chyna's autobiography, "If They Only Knew," is now available for pre-order at the WWF ShopZone. The book is just over 300 pages long and will be officially released on January 30. To check out a shot of the cover, check out WWF.com. Expect the WWF to do some heavy promotion of this book when it's released, similar to what they did with Mick Foley's book and Chyna's Playboy pictorial. [Matt Boone]

----- In Chyna's book, she gives great insight on the business, as well as being herself. Just reading what she had to do to get into the WWF is worth the price of admission for some of you not so hardcore fans of Chyna trying to decide whether or not to buy the book. For the big fans, this is a no-brainer. Among the things you'll learn:

Why she hasn't seen her mom since she was 16.
Who actually took the initiative from Triple H and Shawn Michaels to get her into the WWF. It wasn't Vince!
The jobs she took before her date with destiny in the WWF. Everything from Peace Corps worker to 900 sex line worker!
And how a car accident that killed two other people made all the difference between becoming a wrestler and a flight attendant.
Just how close she came to joining WCW and the nWo, and who stopped her!

01/19/01 Internet Rumor
Chyna vs. Ivory for the Women's Title has been added to the Royal Rumble card. A Lot have speculated as to why Chyna is fighting for the Women’s title when she said she has no interest in it at all. This is clearly to prove a point to the RTC, and most expect Chyna to either get Disqualified or to lose the match. [Kevin Gregg]

01/21/01 Royal Rumble PPV
Billy Gunn again tried to convince Chyna not to step foot in the ring, saying it was too soon. The Ninth Wonder of the World said she didn't care what the doctors said.

Chyna was a woman on a mission in this bout, after Ivory and Val Venis attempted to end her career a month ago with a spike piledriver.  Chyna man-handled both Ivory and Steven Richards during the opening moments of the encounter. But when Chyna went for her handspring elbow, she landed awkwardly, and something appeared to be very wrong. After Ivory pinned Chyna to retain her title, Federation officials rushed to Chyna's side to check her status. [wwf.com] For Pics - Click Here.

01/22/01 Monday Night Raw
Before her match defending her Women's Title against Molly Holly, Ivory said that there was one part missing from Chyna's new book, "If They Only Knew" - the part about Ivory beating Chyna down! Molly came out and said she was going do everyone a favor and shut Ivory's mouth! Molly utilized nearly every move in her arsenal, but as she climbed the turnbuckle, Steven knocked her down, allowing Ivory to cover Molly for the win!  [wwf.com]

Michael Cole gave fans an update on Chyna. Cole said that an MRI had revealed bone fragments in Chyna's neck, and the Ninth Wonder of the World would have to have exploratory surgery.  [wwf.com]

01/26/01 Internet News/Rumors
Starting this Monday (1/22) and continuing until February 8th, five fans who visit WWF New York will be selected to have lunch with either Shawn Michaels or Chyna. [Mitch Newton]

----- Chyna's injury angle is rumored to be played out until right before 'No Way Out' from Las Vegas, Nevada's Thomas & Mack Center on February 25. This is to allow Chyna to tour the country doing book signings as her autobiography is sure to be a top seller as was her Playboy magazine appearance. [James Sims]

----- Just to clear up rumors and answer questions which have being flooding my mailbox since Sundays Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, Chyna has suffered no real medical complaint following her match against Ivory at the Royal Rumble. If Chyna had really been diagnosed with a real career threatening injury, following the spike piledriver at the hands of the RTC as we have been lead to believe, the World Wrestling Federation would have under no circumstances sanctioned her match, especially on live pay-per-view in the interest of her long term health. The main reason behind Chyna once again being written out of WWF TV for a short stint is as there is no real creative direction for the Chyna persona in the WWF at present. However, with Chyna's new book now on the verge of being released, the WWF felt it were important to keep her in the spotlight as much as possible so book sales don’t suffer or perish so they brought here back to appear on Sundays PPV in the hope book sales will go on unaffected by her absence. The injury angle has been set up to gain sympathy for her and so that she can be actively mentioned, with announcers giving updates on her status and occasional interviews instead of her whereabouts remaining unknown to the general public. The creative team continue to address Chyna's creative direction in the WWF and as soon as they can write her into a more lucrative storyline she will once again been featured prominently on federation programming, instead of selling and carrying out the injury angle she is now lumbered with. [Evan Humphries]

----- Next week Chyna's book "If They Only Knew" will be hitting store shelves all over the place. Before you run out and by it I figured I'd alert you to some tour dates that the "9th Wonder" will be doing to support the book, so maybe you can nab yourself an autograph while you're picking up a copy:

2/1 - Virgin Megastore in Times Square, NY - 7-9pm
2/2 - Borders Books in Stonybrook, NY - 7-9pm
2/3 - Bookends in Ridgewood, NJ - 1-3pm

'The One' Billy Gunn told Michael Cole that Chyna was doing good, under the circumstances. So he told her to go out and tour for her book, in order to get her mind off the Right to Censor.  [wwf.com]

02/02/01 Internet News & Rumors
WWFChyna9.com, the official Web site of the Ninth Wonder of the World, is now up and running. The site features both in-ring and sexy photos and videos, in addition to information on her new book and more. [Ryan Clark]

----- Also according to EWN WWF babe Chyna is secretly dating N-Sync hunk Joey Fatone... and that's official. They first met at the MTV Video Music Awards last September, since then friends have described the couple as inseparable. Chyna, whose real name is Laurie Turner, told the British press over the weekend, "It's true I've seen Joey a few times, we've dated, put it that way." She added, "I've never let a man get the better on my physically, but in bed it's a different matter."  [Ryan McGavock]

Silver's Note: Okay, I'm sorry.  This just cracks me up.  I seriously doubt that this person knows what he is talking about and I have no clue where he might have got his information but I'm pretty sure that Chyna isn't dating Joey Fatone.  Joey has a girlfriend.  The last time I checked, her name was Kelly.  And second of all, this reporter doesn't even know Chyna's real name.  It isn't Laurie Turner, it's Joanie Laurer.

WebMaster's Note: She'll break the poor guy! Be advised that Silver is a N-Sync fanatic, so I would pay heed to what she's saying.

02/0?/01 TV Appearance
Chyna was introduced by the man, Regis!, and she came out being escorted by Ravens star Tony S. as he carried her out to her seat. The odd part about the opening was they gave Chyna the old entrance theme music of HHH. hmmm...Anyway, Regis and Roseanne begin to discuss Chyna's new book "If They Only Knew" and that the book really focuses in on Joanie Lower and not "The Ninth Wonder of the World" Chyna. Regis asked her a few questions and she talked about how she had a hard childhood growing up with not having a great relationship with her family, to toying with eating disorders, all the way to "sticking to her guns" and staying physically fit. Chyna said she's glad she did because it was the one thing that kept her going. After the commercial break....Regis and Chyna talked about her previous jobs before the WWF. Some included Secret Service jobs, or fitness pagents, but they focused on the fact that it wasn't that easy for Chyna to just get into the WWF and that it took a lot of hard work. They touched on relationships, and the fact that Chyna is not dating HHH anymore. So she's single guys! They close out by stating that Chyna is not through yet and she's got the WWF as a great platform to perform, entertain, and showcase her talents!  [Nick Evanish]

02/09/01 Internet Rumors/News
Chyna's Playboy sales passed 1.3 million issues this week. This passed Sable's about a month ago. [Michael Payton]

----- Thanks to the hard work from the WWF marketing department, Chyna's book is literally flying off the shelves. The promotion the WWF gave to Chyna's bio has been the best, even surpassing those of Rock and Foley. The book will also be released in the United Kingdom next week. It's currently ranked #68 in the Amazon.com sales rank. If you want to purchase the book, it will cost you $20.80, 20% off the retail price from WrestlingMegastore.com [Collin Vassallo]

----- As you may, or may not already know, Chyna has recently followed in the footsteps of many professional wrestlers (Mick Foley, The Rock, Bill Goldberg, etc.) and released her own book, If They Only Knew. Many critics have been rating the book, however, none have been Chyna's latest critic. Wladek "Killer" Kowalski has trained many professional wrestlers in his time, including Triple H and Chyna. Once a close friend of Chyna, Kowalski was very upset over how he was portrayed in the novel, saying that ninety percent of the book was fictional, and that Chyna is the biggest liar he's ever known. The Killer urged fans not to buy the book, or read it, however, his comments may do just the opposite, as many may become curious over what made him so upset. [Jason Hamil]

----- Reports indicate, Chyna is being accused by the great Killer Kowalski of telling lies in her new book, mainly the one about how she got the job to work for the WWF. Kowalski said Chyna is a liar she cannot be trusted. Interesting or not, this may put Chyna's words in her book in jeopardy in believing if the rest of her stories are true or not. Word is that her ego is almost out of control lately and it is obvious that she is trying to go further and further away from her natural look. [Joe Starson]

03/09/01 Internet News/Rumors
Although Chyna's "If They Only Knew," autobiography is ranked number 2 on the New York Times Best Seller List, it should be noted her book is ranked as number 588 on Amazon.com's Sales Rank list. However, her book was released not too long ago, so it is quite early to tell. [Samir Nurmohamed]

----- The WWF's leading lady, Chyna, made the Forbes' Celebrity Top 100 list for this year.  #1 on the list was movie star Tom Cruise.  Chyna was ranked #89 with an estimated income of about $1 million dollars per year. [Michael Payton]

----- In a recent interview, Triple H stated that he and Chyna are not currently involved in a relationship. There were rumors that surfaced a couple of months ago about Chyna and Triple H breaking up, which seems to be the truth now that Triple H has made this statement publicly. Chyna was linked to 'NSync member Joey Fatone in recent articles run in several New York City Newspapers. [Alex Bozich]

----- Recently at the Arnold Schwarzeneggar Classic and Fitness Expo in Columbus, Chyna and Scott Steiner were signing autographs in different booths. Chyna approached Steiner and they talked for a few minutes. [Joe D'Ambrose]

03/11/01 Sunday Heat
Ivory walked to the ring, to address the rumors that Chyna wanted to return to the Federation to challenge Ivory for the Women's Championship at WrestleMania! Ivory mocked Chyna's accomplishments, and called the fans perverts for cheering for the Ninth Wonder of the World. Chyna then boasted about putting Ivory out of action. Ivory said that if Chyna wanted to come back, she would be happy to take her on -- because she had put her out of action once, and she would do it again. [wwf.com]

03/16/01 Internet News/Rumor
As was announced on Heat, Ivory vs. Chyna has been officially added to the Wrestlemania X-Seven card on April 1st in Houston, Texas in front of 70,000+ fans!  [Nick Evanish]

----- When Chyna finally makes her return to WWF action, it looks like she will be there to stay for a long time to come. Chyna has been out lately, not due to injury, but because of other career opportunities. Her media attention has not only boosted self confidence, but also made her a more universally known celebrity. As Chyna will be making her return at WrestleMania, or before in great spirit, she is expected to snatch the women's title. If this occurs, it will be an indication of a very strong women's division to follow. [James Dylan]

03/19/01 Monday Night Raw
Ivory came to the ring carrying a cardboard cutout of her WrestleMania opponent, Chyna. She noted that Chyna looked as fake as ever, and was dumb as a board, too! Ivory said she had a document for Chyna to sign that took all liabilities of injury off of Ivory. As Ivory continued to mock Chyna by beating up the cardboard, Chyna returned, entered the ring and flattened Ivory with a DDT! Chyna then signed Ivory's waiver.  [wwf.com]

03/23/01 Internet News
Lita, Trish, Jackie, and Chyna will be in the May 2001 UK FHM magazine, which can be found in the US at Barnes & Noble. It will come out in April. And on the subject of magazines, Lita will be on the cover of RAW magazine later this year, with pictures from her recent trip to the UK. [Matt Boone]

----- On April 2nd the WWF will be releasing a Special Collector's Edition WWF "Divas 2001" Magazine. Although Lita is on the front cover, the magazine will feature all the Divas. Included in the magazine will be 1 set of trading cards, out of 3 possible sets.

The next day (April 3rd) they will release a "Divas In Hedonism" video that was shot in Jamaica. I did catch that there are two different video covers and advertisements for the video.  In the April 2001 issue of RAW Magazine, the add shows Chyna, The Kat, Trish, Terri, Jacqueline, Debra, Tori and Lita. But if you go over to the WWF Shopzone the cover/advertisement features all the Divas with the exception of The Kat. [OWOW Webmaster]

Mr. McMahon asked Trish for a favor. He said he needed to unwind -- and then asked Trish to compete in a Bra and Panties Match against Ivory on SmackDown!

Trish then took on Ivory in a Bra and Panties match. As Ivory made her way to the ring, she said there was no way she would participate in such a match -- but Trish grabbed her and the match began anyway! During the bout, Chyna walked down the ring and stripped Ivory down to her bra and panties!  [wwf.com]

04/01/01 Wrestlemania X-Seven PPV
Ivory came to the ring alone, as per a stipulation in the match contract that no member of the Right to Censor could be at ringside for the bout.

To say that Chyna was pumped for this bout would be an understatement. The Ninth Wonder of the World's temper was almost as hot as her outfit. Her eyes were full of revenge as Ivory begged for mercy. As Chyna turned her back, Ivory nailed Chyna from behind and went right for the neck. The Ninth Wonder of the World seemed to be favoring her neck, but suddenly she got a hold of Ivory's leg and slammed the Women's Champion down! Chyna repeatedly pounded Ivory with kicks and clotheslines.

Chyna then nailed Ivory with a powerbomb, but when the ref counted two, Chyna picked Ivory up, looking to continue the punishment. Chyna pressed Ivory above her head and dropped her down -- and then pinned Ivory to become Women's Champion! [wwf.com] For Pics - Click Here.

04/12/01 Thursday Smackdown
In a match for the Women's Championship, Chyna defended against Ivory of the Right to Censor. Ivory centered her attack around Chyna's neck, but after a gorilla press, Chyna pinned Ivory to retain her title. After the bout, Steven measured Chyna for a Stevenkick, but he missed, and the Ninth Wonder of the World nailed him with a DDT! [wwf.com]

04/19/01 Thursday Smackdown
Jonathan Coachman interviewed Molly Holly about her Women's Championship match with Chyna. Molly said that she knew she was at a size disadvantage, but she said she would do her best -- and maybe, just maybe, she would become the new Women's Champion! Chyna easily defeated Molly Holly following a powerbomb.  [wwf.com]

WebMaster's Note: As soon as this match was announced I knew that the end result was a foregone conclusion.  It's going to take someone with the ferocity and tenacity of Jacqueline or the speed of Lita to defeat Chyna.

04/20/01 Internet News/Rumors
April 21: The Rock and Chyna will be appearing on the "Kid's Choice Awards 2001," airing at 8 p.m. on Nickelodeon. [Liam Manton]

----- Chyna will be on ABC's "The View" on Wednesday, May 9, discussing her book, fitness video and her life in the Federation, with Barbara Walters and Co. That'll be a nice opportunity and platform for Chyna. [The Ross Report]

----- WWF Divas in Hedonism will now be released on DVD. The DVD will feature bonus Diva Matches along with a selection of exclusive Pictures from the Jamaican Shoot, which will only be found on the DVD. [Dafydd Denatale]

----- Chyna is rumored to have played a big part in getting The Kat fired. Nothing has been said officially if she actually did play a part, or what she did to get The Kat fired, but we can expect that sometime soon this will be revealed. [Justin Rowland]

----- Many rumors have swirled around concerning the dismissal of Stacy Carter, a.k.a. The Kat from the World Wrestling Federation, and Jerry Lawler's resignation from the company.

Supposedly while Chyna and Triple H were together, they were common travel buddies with Lawler and Stacy. Unfortunately, when Triple H and Chyna split, tension arose between both Chyna and the Kat. It is said that one time, Carter showed pictures of her kissing Chyna backstage, implying that both of them had been fooling around with each other. Chyna wasn't upset about that at the time, however Lawler thought that problems between the two divas contributed to Carter's release from the company.
[Nathan Mayers]

----- Jerry Lawler continues to say that Chyna may have contributed directly and indirectly in getting Stacy "Kat" Carter fired. Apart from noting that Kat and Chyna had a strained relationship after Chyna and Triple H broke up, Lawler also alluded to Stacy making "advances" towards Triple H, which may have factored into the decision to let Kat go. Whether that is true or not, is open for debate but needless to say Lawler isn't all that shy about sharing Stacy as evidenced by the photos he posts on his website.

In an interesting note, at the time Carter was released, Vince McMahon was frustrated with contract negotiations with Chyna because she was asking for more money than he felt she deserved. Some speculate that perhaps Vince released Carter to send a message to her that no one is safe from a release.

04/27/01 Internet Rumors
WWF wrestler CHYNA is set to fight her way onto movie screens - as the 21st century's new WONDER WOMAN. The fearsome wrestling star, famed for her beauty as well as her rippling muscles, is poised to take over LYNDA CARTER's 1976 movie role as the female superhero - and insists it's about time a major movie had a more feminine all-action star than the likes of ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER and JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME.

She says, "We need a real female action hero. It"s time we saw that comic book character jumping up off the pages.  "I want to take my ability, my persona, my muscles and my personality to bring that into a real action hero role. I'm working out around four days a week to ensure that I'm in good shape to be a true Wonder Woman." And the sexy star is overjoyed with the prospect of playing the heroine, because she's always dreamed of being just like her.

She adds, "I grew up watching Lynda Carter and I used to think that she was so beautiful - I loved her. When I went to the recent MTV Awards, I wore red, white and blue, which prompted everyone to ask if I was planning on becoming Wonder Woman.  "The more they asked, the more I realised what a good idea it would be."
[Matthew Boone]

----- A TV advocacy group is blasting kiddie network Nickelodeon for including buffed-up WWF wrestler and Playboy pinup Chyna on tonight's "Kids' Choice Awards." "Shame on you, Nickelodeon," Parents Television Council advisory board member Dr. C. DeLores Tucker said in a statement. "Millions of parents trust you to provide quality, family-friendly programming, and you have violated that trust with your decision to invite [Chyna], whose character regularly engages in violent and vulgar actions. "By this selection, Nickelodeon is not only encouraging but is partner to the direct marketing of WWF to children," Tucker said. "It is sad to see that Nickelodeon, one of the last vestiges of quality children's programming, has now succumbed to chasing after the almighty dollar rather than continuing to provide a safe entertainment haven for children." Nickelodeon, however, wasn't backing down. "Having Chyna as a presenter does not represent any violation of our programming standards," said a Nickelodeon spokesman. [Joe D'Ambrose]

----- Chyna is being booked to have a cocky, tweener, heel attitude. The goal is for her to have a "Sable" character. This leaves room for her to feud with Lita, which is a very anticipated feud, and others such as Molly Holly, Jacqueline because the WWF is very high on her, and even Trish Stratus to get her more over and put use to her. [Matt Boone]

----- Right now, some have begun to say that we could possibly see Chyna turn heel in the upcoming weeks following Backlash. The WWF seems to be portraying Chyna as they did to Sable. Basically, this means that Chyna will begin to get caught up in all of her fame and glory from Playboy, TV shows, etcetra and eventually, turn heel. This would be a good storyline for Chyna as it would give her something new and fresh to start with. [Mark Peters]

----- Professional wrestler/model/writer/actress Chyna, whose real name is Joan Laurer, was sued by her former talent agency, Braverman/Bloom, for skipping out on an outstanding balance and commissions she has earned since leaving the agency. Chyna was with Braverman/Bloom from March 1998 until December, during which the talent agency negotiated her World Wrestling Federation contract and advised and counseled her on various other entertainment matters including acting roles on shows such as Pacific Blue and Third Rock From the Sun, an appearance in Playboy, the Chyna Fitness video and publication of her autobiography, Chyna: If They Only Knew, according to the suit. When Chyna terminated her personal management agreement with the agency, she allegedly agreed to pay an outstanding balance of nearly $10,400 plus continue to pay commissions on the Playboy appearance, the autobiography, the video and a television project currently titled Longings of Lollie, the lawsuit states. The lawsuit estimates that the commissions total between $150,000 and $250,000. Chyna has allegedly not responded to numerous attempts by the agency to contact her and has refused to pay, the suit says. A message left Tuesday with her current agent at Endeavor was not immediately returned. The lawsuit claims breach of contract, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing and unjust enrichment and an accounting. It was filed by attorneys Tony Blain of Blain & Associates and Henry W. Holmes of Weissman, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman, Silverman & Holmes. [Fred Cook]

----- Billy Gunn has recently dropped a bit in status with the WWF, and this has caused the bookers to drop his angle with Chyna as well. Gunn is rumored to be among the few wrestlers that will be sent out and resurfaced in the new WCW when it relaunches later this year. [Brandon Newman]

----- Monroeville, Pa. April 28 -- Chyna will be signing autographs from noon to 2 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Comic Convention, 105 Mall Blvd. [Steven Carrier]

04/30/01 Monday Night Raw
Trish Stratus went to the Commish's office. Regal told her that since Mr. McMahon was impressed with her in over Ivory last week, he granted her a match with Women's Champion Chyna -- a non-title match. Regal added that that should Trish defeat Chyna, he may grant her a rematch, and indicated she may actually get in a little move or two. Trish responded that Regal was an expert on what's little!

Once again, Chyna's power and strength was just too much. A press slam and powerbomb was enough to finish Trish. Chyna then grabbed the mic to say that as much as she respected the women of the Federation, she feels that he hasn't had any competition of late, so she'd have to spank her competition after defeating them. That brought out Lita, who said Chyna has been a total inspiration to her. But she added that she also has a lot of respect for the Women's Championship, and that if it was competition Chyna wanted, Lita would be honored to fight her for it. Initially, Chyna made a mockery out of Lita's challenge, but soon accepted and told Lita to name a time and place -- but to not be surprised if her hiny was sore the next day. [wwf.com]

05/04/01 Internet Rumors
Movie rumor sites all over the internet are reporting that Chyna is up for the lead role in the long delayed "Wonder Woman" feature flick. Both WWF.com and Chyna's official site, Chyna9.com, have not confirmed the story and there are just as many rumors that the script has not even been written as of yet. All I can say is I guess we will have to wait for an official announcement of sorts on if this rumor is true or not.[Brandon Newman]

----- For weeks now, rumors have flooded the internet about WWF Superstar Chyna landing the lead role in the upcoming "Wonder Woman" movie. You can now official forget that Chyna rumor, as Sandra Bullock is still being considered the top choice for the title role of a potential Wonder Woman movie.

While talking to Variety columnist Michael Fleming, producer Leonard Goldberg spoke of the project, saying, "Sandy's interested, and we've met with her. It all depends on the script and director, of course, but she hasn't done anything this physical in a long time, and she'd like to. We'd love to have her."

There was no mention at all of Joanie Laurer (Chyna) ever being considered for the role of the "Amazonian Princess". Chalk that one up to pure "dirtsheet rumor".
[Daniel Bradshaw]

----- On another Chyna note, there are many rumors leading that Chyna will side with HHH again , this is a false report. I have spoken with a member of the WWF creative team who informed me that right now there are discussions going on as to having Chyna join up with X-Factor and her old DX member X-Pac. That is the supposed reasoning for booking her in an arrogant heel type role similar to the way Sable was before she left the WWF. [Brandon Newman]

----- And finally, when talking about Chyna's future in Hollywood I meant to mention that one part she could potentially snag is the female Terminator in T3. It became available again when frontrunner Famke Janssen (X-Men) turned down the role, according to her official newsletter. Chyna is still in the running along with Peta Wilson (La Femme Nikita) and Natasha Henstridge (Species). [Josh Peterson]

----- On Extra the other day they did a feature on how the Playboy makeup artists make the playmates look much better than they naturally do. Of course, they showed Chyna, but the funny part was when they showed her "before and after" photos. Her before picture was of her before she got the jaw surgery, and the after photo was from her Playboy shoot. It made the entire thing look ridiculous considering Chyna got the jaw surgery over 2 years ago. [Steven Carrier]

----- Chyna's book finished as the 15th most bought book on the best-seller list. This is down 5 places from last week's position. The History of Wrestlemania is ranked in 12th position. [Dafydd Denatale]

----- There is speculation that Chyna will soon be making a heel turn. The fact that Lita beat Molly Holly on Sunday night Heat may be a sign that Lita is being set up as Chyna's top contender for the Women's title, and with Lita's relationship with the Hardy Boyz she will always be a face as long as they are, and there have been some rumors Chyna will be returning to Triple H, which would turn her heel. Keep in mind that this is just a rumor at the present moment in time. [Steven Carrier]

----- WWF is pretty upset with the promo between Lita and Chyna, but still feel the match is going to be very well over. Chyna's constant mentioning of "spanking" Lita was probably her cheap attempt at playing a snobby person. The promo was very bad, but never-the-less the crowd was pumped for every stuttered word the two ladies mumbled. [Matt Boone]

05/07/01 Monday Night Raw
In women's action, Molly Holly took on Lita. Before the match, Chyna, Lita's Judgement Day opponent, came to ringside for guest commentary. After Lita and Molly both flipped and tossed each other around the ring, Lita picked up the win with a moonsault. At that point, Chyna walked into the ring and held Lita's hand up in victory! As Chyna bent down to check on Molly, Lita spanked her and slid out of the ring! [wwf.com]

05/11/01 Internet Rumor
Lita and Chyna were both on RAW to progress their weird and apparently pseudo-lesbian storyline filled with giggles, butt slaps and spankings. Sigh. I'm not really sure where this is headed because as of now, both ladies are firmly (trying) to play face roles even though it's pretty obvious who the fans are cheering for (Lita) and who they aren't (Chyna). I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think this is all setting us up for a Chyna heel turn which probably won't happen until at least Judgment Day. A scenario I thought of which would get Chyna over a heel would be to injure Lita (via the spanking, I don't know) perhaps after Lita wins the women's championship from her. The way things seem like they are being conveyed is that Chyna is not taking Lita's challenge seriously, obviously a direct result of the fact that she's the much more physically dominant woman and has thus far had an easy time disposing of the other divas in the WWF. This is just a random thought, but if and when Lita captures the women's title off of Chyna, the 9th Wonder of the World may put in motion her much speculated heel turn.

The Latino Heat, Eddie Guerrero seems to be gradually throwing himself into this angle, whether it be because of his motives to recapture the European title from Matt Hardy or because of his storied past with Chyna. As witnessed on RAW, Guerrero flat out told Lita that he wants to see her kick Chyna's butt at Judgment Day and then later went on to save Lita from Rhyno's vicious gore. Whether this means that sooner or later Lita will be smitten by Eddie's courage and likeability or whether this means that Eddie is secretly with Chyna and attempting to pull a fast one on Lita is what should play out in the coming weeks. I believe at the very least we're going to see Chyna turn heel in some form or another and the ensuing chaos that will result involving Lita will cause further fireworks between her and the Hardy Boyz. [Brandon Newman]

05/14/01 Monday Night Raw
In a women's tag team match, the odd combination of Ivory and Molly Holly teamed up to take on Chyna and Lita. During the match, Lita went to tag in Chyna, but the Ninth Wonder of the World told Lita to get back in the ring! Lita went on to struggle against Molly, but picked up the win after hitting Molly with a moonsault. After the match, Chyna raised Lita's arm, but Lita just stared at Chyna in disbelief.

In the back, Michael Cole asked Lita what happened in the match. She said that she didn't know why Chyna wouldn't tag in. Then, Chyna walked up and said that she wanted proof that Lita was ready. Lita said she was ready, and then, before walking off, Chyna told Lita that, speaking from personal experience, no one should trust Eddie Guerrero. [wwf.com]

05/17/01 Thursday Smackdown
In a non-title Handicap Match, Chyna took on Molly Holly and Ivory. The Ninth Wonder of the World won the bout, pinning Ivory after a powerbomb. After the match, Lita ran to the ring and raised Chyna's hand, and then surprisingly, Eddie Guerrero walked to the stage and applauded! [wwf.com]

----- The latest edition of "For Him Magazine" ranks WWF Women's Champion Chyna as the 97th out of a possible 100 "hottest women in the world". Jennifer Lopez ranks #1. [Ryan Clark]

----- Also in L.A., I ran into Chyna late one night at Jerry’s Deli in Marina Del Ray. We talked for about two hours. I hadn’t talked to her in a while, so that was nice. I probably hadn’t seen her in over a year. I had heard through the grapevine that she was going to do another Playboy spread, so I asked her about it. She said she didn’t know if she was going to get clearance. [Kevin Nash's commentary posted by Mark Peters]

05/20/01 Judgment Day PPV
Early on, Chyna used her size and strength advantage to overpower Lita. But Lita battled back, using her speed and agility to gain the advantage. Chyna assaulted Lita with a series of forearms and clotheslines, gaining several near-falls. Lita soon surprised Chyna with a DDT, and nailed the Ninth Wonder of the World with a series of right hands. Lita then hit Chyna with a second-rope clothesline.

Chyna gained the advantage with a swinging neckbreaker and a powerslam, but Lita kicked out at 2. Chyna then military-pressed Lita and sent her crashing down to the canvas. Lita locked Chyna in an armbreaker submission hold, but Chyna roared back with a headscissors.

Suddenly, Eddie Guerrero slowly walked to the stage to watch the action, as the two women exchanged submission holds in the ring. Moments later, Chyna set Lita up for a powerbomb, but Lita reversed it into a hurricanrana, which earned a near-fall. Chyna then countered a Twist of Fate into a powerbomb and pinned Lita to retain her championship. After the bout, Chyna helped Lita up, and the two embraced. [wwf.com] For Pics - Click Here.

05/25/01 Internet Rumor
On the new entertainment show "Uncovered" today, they featured a story on the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, which Chyna was rumored to be a part of. According to the segment, the top 3 candidates to play Wonder Woman are Sandra Bullock, Chyna and Lucy "Xena" Lawless. Bullock had yet to talk to the movie's producers about playing the role, while Chyna was apparently going out for the role. [The News Desk]

----- Chyna was expected to turn heel on Lita at Judgment Day according to various reports and recent actions taken on past TV's with Lita. Chyna is headed towards a snobby heel type, sort of a Sable-like character who let's fame get to their head for TV. If she does turn, look for a re-alignment with Eddie Guerrero. [Matthew Boone]

----- Chyna could potentially snag the female Terminator role in "T3." It became available again when frontrunner female Famke Janssen (from X-Men) turned down the role, according to her official newsletter. Chyna is still in the running along with Peta Wilson ("Le Femme Nikita") and Natasha Henstidge ("Species") [Joseph Davis]

----- Chyna was said to be unhappy backstage at the Smackdown tapings because agent Barry Bloom was backstage as well. You may remember that Bloom recently sued to Chyna, a former client of his, for money that he felt she owed him. Naturally, the lawsuit caused some animosity between the two. In a related note, a report states that Chyna has gotten a big head after her appearance in Playboy magazine and her recent promotional tour for her book "Chyna: If They Only Knew". [Randy Marsten]

06/15/01 Internet Rumors
Chyna wasn’t on WWF television this week due to a surgery. Though earlier it was thought that the injury could be serious, it is now pretty much clear that it was only a minor surgery, since even Jim Ross didn’t mention anything about it in his Ross Report. Chyna is expected to be on television in the next couple of weeks and probably even this Monday. However, no details about what the surgery was about are available at the moment.  [Damien Bracken]

----- Entertainment Tonight did a feature on Chyna this week and announced that she will play a role in the upcoming movie "Frank McClusky, C.I.", which will be out in theaters next year. The film also features Scott Baio and Dolly Parton. [Matthew Boone]

----- Chyna has been off of WWF TV for a couple weeks now and hasn't been traveling with the WWF according to published reports. Although the WWF is running out of ideas for her, the absence is said to be attributed to some sort of surgery. It doesn't appear as if this injury will keep Chyna out of action for too long as she is still expected to finish her business with Lita. [Sam Husary]

According to the Ross Report:

"The Federation has ceased contract negotiations with Chyna and they will not resume. Chyna's contract expires on November 30 and we wish her continued success. Her contributions to the Federation will be long remembered and are much appreciated."

06/29/01 Internet Rumors
Joanie Laurer (Chyna) and the World Wrestling Federation appear imminent to part company after a contract dispute.

The two sides were said to be far apart on money when it came to renewing their deal, which expires on November 30th. Negotiations had not been going well for months between the two sides, and that also explains, because of attempts to strengthen her position while the negotiations went on, why certain things that at the time didn't seem to make sense took place involving her character and the lay-out of some of her highest profile matches. At this point, the WWF does not expect Chyna to appear on television again and no decision has been made regarding the women's championship, which she still holds.
[Matthew Boone]

----- Even though talks are being held off by the WWF concerning Joanie Laurer [a.k.a. Chyna], we may see Chyna on WWF television after November [when her contract expires]. Just like in the case of Jerry "The King" Lawler, talks are still happening, even after the WWF said that their decision was final. In this wicked business known as professional wrestling, anything can and will happen. After the WWF pulled away from buying WCW, they wound up buying it months later at a lower price.

So don't count the ungrateful Chyna out, if and only if, she works under the terms the WWF specifies for her. If she decides not to work with the WWF, we will definitely see her doing the same thing the departed Sable did after the WWF, which is, nothing.
[Jonathan Siderman]

----- For those of you who refused to shell out $40 bucks to read her book, you'll be happy to know that this coming September 2001, "Chyna - If They Only Knew" will be released in paperback form.

It will sell for a suggested retail price of $7.99 (US), and is 432 pages in length. There is no word at this time if there will be special bonus material added to her book. [Daniel Bradshaw]

----- There is small talk of Chyna being just another prospect available for pickings between Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan's rumored promotions. This has yet to be seen, and even if they did have interest and Chyna was willing, she is not available for work until November which is when her contract expires. [Matthew Boone]

----- In the upcoming Disney movie "McKlusky," Chyna will play the role of Freeda, a spy who has an unusual sense of fashion. [Chad Brown]

07/06/01 Internet Rumors
Chyna and the WWF ended contract renewel negotiations last week and ever since the main question asked is "why?" Time came to talk about a contract renewel as her current contract expires on November 30th and her downside guarantee on the current has been met. Chyna had a very high demand for her new downside guarantee which is in the ballpark of The Rock, Triple H, and Steve Austin's guarantees. The WWF felt Chyna was a major role player, but not in the main-event league as an Austin, Triple H, or Rock. Chyna then gave WWF an ultimatum which lead to the WWF ending negotiations with her. Apparently, Chyna's head has swelled since taking on a more feminine role after he Playboy spread and book tour routes.

The WWF had denied the offer from Playboy about a second shoot with Chyna claiming it was too soon. Her out-of-ring with relationship with Triple H has been over for sometime now and she has filed a lawsuit against former agent Barry Bloom. He is the agent of stars such as Triple H, Goldberg, Jesse Ventura, Kevin Nash, X-Pac, Scott Hall, Chris Jericho, among others. The chance to fallback on going to WCW if WWF refused to meet her demands isn't exsistant which also hurt her.

Chyna has already been removed from the opening of RAW and SmackDown! as well as some of the features such as "Rewind" and "Slam of the Week." Chyna is expected to remain off WWF television until her contract runs up in November which she is then expected to be released. However, some feel there is a strong chance of Chyna lowering her demands, or WWF compromising with her demands sometime down the road. As of now, her status with WWFE isn't good, and is on the verge of being non-exsistant.
[Matthew Boone]

----- Currently, Chyna holds the WWF Woman's Championship around her waist, however she has been absent from WWF TV for several weeks. And with her recent contract problems, it doesn't look like she will be returning to TV any time in the future. At this time, the WWF is really unsure what to do with the title and the division. However, right now, it isn't very high on the creative team's priority list, but a decision will need to be made, whether to let the title live on, or retire it yet again. [Chad Brown]

WebMaster's Note: The Women's Division hasn't been a priority in forever to the creative team.

Just like they did with Sable, WWFE Inc. have secured all rights and trademarks pertaining to the name, character, and gimmick of “Chyna”. They did it on May 23rd, which is interestingly before negotiations with Chyna on a contract extension broke off. [Damien Bracken]

----- During the weekend, and episode of "Extra" featured the woman who does the makeup for Playboy models. She claimed that her best work ever was with WWF's Chyna. A 1998 photo was displayed of Chyna, along with Chyna's cover photo for Playboy magazine, as an example. [Joe D'Ambrose]

----- All copyrights and trademarks on Chyna's WWF name and gimmick are not being released to Joanie Laurer [aka Chyna]. She is getting the same treatment Rena Mero [Sable] got when she was released from the World Wrestling Federation. [Jonathan Siderman]

----- Chyna, real name Joanie Laurer, has launched her own personal website, which fans can visit at www.bodybyjoanie.com. [Amish Patel]

----- UPN9.com has added the interview regarding Chyna's first outspoken words about WWF contract renewals and why she is departing from the WWF. The interview itself was aired this past Thursday after SmackDown, but the interview can now be seen in Windows Media Player via the UPN9.com website. On a small related Chyna note, Star Insider INC. will be making the website previously mentioned, bodybyjoanie.com. They are known for their work on the current official websites of Torrie Wilson, Scott Steiner, and Evander Holyfield. Chyna's personal website itself is still in the process of construction. [Matthew Boone]

----- Apparently, WWF wrestlers as well as officials are happy to see the back of Chyna. Chyna is said to have gotten the reputation of a big head backstage. Few people backstage have even come out to say that Chyna couldn’t even get along well with Lita, who is the most easy to get along among all WWF superstars. There were a lot of angles Chyna suggested so as to keep down Lita, who has become a huge fan favorite. [Damien Bracken]

----- Chyna, the latest wrestling celebrity to develop an overly large head, has discovered that her crossover success as a Playboy centerfold and literary subject didn't translate to a contract on the level of performers like The Rock, Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Steve Austin. [Amish Patel]

----- Chyna is still listed as WWF Women's Champion at the WWF website. Chyna is still under contract, although she is not being used and no negotiations are scheduled to renew her deal. WWF sources say it will be many months, if not more than a year, before the wounds from the negotiations will have healed enough for the two sides to even consider negotiating again. [Damien Bracken]

07/20/01 Internet Rumors/News
On a follow up to a previous report, Chyna may be filming a video and photo shoot with Playboy magazine after Hugh Hefner publicly stated her spread drew 3.9 million and that he's interested to work with her again. The only problem is, she is legally not allowed until her contract with WWFE expires as the WWF has a clause with Playboy which only allows WWF wrestling women involved with the magazine. Although now there is only really indies to compare to the WWF so that clause doesn't mean much except for Chyna's situation where it just expands the time of the process. [Matthew Boone]

----- LOS ANGELES, CA (StarInsider.com) - Joanie Laurer, best known for her former role as Chyna in the World Wrestling Federation, has launched her all-new official website at Body By Joanie.com

The site, featuring photos, merchandise, and a host of interactive features for members, includes both a free visitors area and an optional membership area for fans to join and interact with Joanie. Member benefits include extensive photo galleries, desktop wallpapers, online greeting cards, video and audio segments, e-mail newsletters, and the opportunity to interact directly with Joanie through her site.

BodyByJoanie.com, in conjunction with StarInsider, Inc., will also conduct periodic auctions of some of Joanie's memorabilia, including some of her best known outfits and equipment from her days as a WWF superstar as well as signed movie and television scripts and much more.
[Wrestlingdotcom]

----- There are plans for a possible tournament to decide who the WWF women's champion will be now that it's obvious Chyna won't be brought back on television to drop the belt. We could see it not only be WWF women participating, but the WCW diva's could be involved as well. If the WWF decides to sign any women for ECW, they would be involved also. [Matthew Boone]

07/27/01 Internet Rumor
Chyna has updated her website, BodybyJoanie.com. The following is an exert from the main news page:

"Many, many fans have written asking for comments on why I am not currently involved with the WWF, so I want to answer your questions as best I can. In all honesty, there's really not too much more to say than I've already said, which is that I have been released by the WWF and now I want to pursue some other interests and opportunities in my career right now...I want to thank all of you for supporting me during my career so far, and I hope you'll continue to do so!"
[Wrestlingdotcom]

----- In the tabloid "The Star," there appears to be an interview with soon to be ex-WWF diva, Chyna. In the interview, Chyna said that she was expecting to marry Triple H, until she found out about the Triple H/Stephanie McMahon love affair. However, she did go on to say that was not the reason why she will not return to the WWF. Chyna is still saying that the WWF is not offering her enough money, that's why she will not return. [Samir Nurmohamed]

WebMaster's Note: It seems extremely strange to me that this is the first time anyone has heard of this and of course "The Star" is the only one with this report.

----- A monster truck show in West Texas has been featuring a card board cut-out of Chyna. It reads: "Joanie Lauer formerly known as Chyna in the WWF." [Matthew Boone]

----- Despite what other reports have stated, Chyna has yet to sign a definite contract with the new promotion, MECW. Apparently, she has been asking for 4 million dollars or in the ball park of that area but now, her price has gone down dramatically. Depending on what both sides can agree on will decide on Chyna's future in the wrestling industry. [Mark Peters]

----- In a recent interview with Joanie Laurer (known to wrestling fans as Chyna), she talked about various issues surrounding her, and other wrestlers in the WWF. Joanie told Steppin' Out Magazine that although she is taking a risk by leaving the WWF to pursue an acting career, she does not feel she is in a similar situation to Rena Mero aka Sable.

"As much as I like Rena, and I do like her, the problem with her was that she was a dime-a-dozen of a woman who was trying to leave something that she was very popular at, which is being a sex symbol," said Chyna when asked about Rena Mero leaving the WWF. "When you try to make it in Hollywood without any acting ability or experience, it's like going out and being fed to the lions. Plus, she left the WWF on bad terms, period. She sued the WWF when she left and it just wasn't going to work like that."

Chyna said that she not leave on bad terms, which puts an end to speculation that she had. She felt that all her life she wanted to be an actress, and this would be the perfect opportunity for her to try and make her dream a reality.

"My decision to leave the WWF was a mutual one. I had done so much in the wrestling world for six years," said Chyna, when she clarified that she left the WWF on good terms. "Opportunity started to come my way, and just like you, I want to wake up and be able to know that I can grow professionally and financially. I just got to a certain point in wrestling where I wasn't able to do that anymore."

Also, in the interview the 5'9" dark haired phenomena said that she did not leave the WWF due to the fact that she was dating former WWF Champion Triple H. However, Chyna did say that the rumours were true, and that she and Triple H had been dating during her WWF career. But in the end, Triple H broke up with Chyna to go with Stephanie McMahon, Vince McMahon's only daughter.

"I think he (Triple H) got so involved in this business that he started to fall out of love with me and started falling in love with Stephanie McMahon," said a heart broken Chyna. "He was surrounded 24 hours a day with his storyline and what he was doing on television, and that's what he lived for...But now I can say that maybe it's best that the two people that love the business the most are together. The truth is, it will be great for business."

Lastly, Chyna spoke out on why she decided to pose for Playboy. She felt that she was different, so she decided to give it a shot.

"I wanted to make a statement," said Chyna. "I think so often we expect women to look a certain way and to be a certain way and act a certain way. I was just so opposite from all that. And I just wanted the chance to talk about it, and once I got that chance, people started to look at me very differently."

08/10/01 Internet News/Rumor
On a newer Stacker 2 commercial, which has Chyna featured in it, aired last night, probably not for the first time. An interesting point that should be noted is the fact that Chyna is referred to as "Joanie" in the ad, which is her real name. It looks as though Stacker 2 had a separate contract with Joanie Laurer than with the WWF. [Joe D'Ambrose]

----- For the sake of keeping in the limelight, Chyna, now known as Joanie Laurer, is going on tour in the beginning of 2002. They're calling it the 'Body by Joanie' tour. Laurer will be making appearances at 25 different cities, giving workout tips and selling her workout clothing line. [Ryan Clark]

----- Joanie Laurer - formerly known as Chyna - is making news on most media websites lately with the headlines saying that she left the WWF for acting. PageSix.com reports that Laurer has signed to be a guest star in the upcoming syndicated action show 'Tracker' which has Highlander's Adrian Paul in the leading role. WWF spokesman Gary Davis said, "Her contract was up for renewal, both sides were talking and trying to figure out what would make the most sense. And at the end of the day everyone agreed that it was probably best for her to go ahead and pursue other interests now." [Colin Vassallo]

----- Chyna will have a small role in the upcoming movie, On the Line. Speaking of Chyna, there has been a lot of deliberation on what will happen to the WWF Women's Title. There has been no decision made with regards to the title, but Chyna will not be making an appearance on WWF TV to drop the title. A press release earlier in the week confirmed that. [Amish Patel]

08/17/01 Internet Rumors
Joanie Laurer, known as Chyna in the WWF, is looking to make in the high 6-digit figures for the year 2000 due to reaching her quite substantial downside guarantee on her currently existing contract with World Wrestling Federation Entertainment. Add in the fact that her Playboy issue broke records and benefits from autograph sessions and her autobiography, Laurer looks to be set for the next couple of years given she manages her profits accordingly. Joanie has made it clear that she looks to fulfill a acting career, but many doubt her popularity and appeal once she is no longer on WWF television every week. [Matthew Boone]

----- Joanie Laurer is going on the road to meet fans across the U.S. and Canada. In the coming months she'll be appearing in person at major collectors shows, auto shows, and more, so don't miss your chance to meet the woman who has graced the covers of Playboy, TV Guide, Ironman, Newsweek, and dozens of other magazines. Formerly known as the WW's Ninth Wonder of the World "Chyna", Joanie is now succeeding where others have failed by crossing over to a thriving acting career. Be sure to check out her upcoming guest appearances on MTV's "Crib Notes" and onto the syndicated series "Trackers". [Keith Wilcutt]

----- Former WWF diva Chyna will soon be holding special auctions, as she plans on selling some of her outfits, photo's etc. [Amish Patel]

09/07/01 Internet Rumor
In a small note, Chyna is still listed as WWF women's champion on wwfsuperstars.com. There's no indication as to the future of the WWF women's title, but it's thought that if the WWF don't get her to drop it before her contract expires (which is also said to be near nigh impossible) the belt would be dropped permanently. There is some concern with this decision however, as this was done before with Alundra Blaze, then brought back later on. If the belt is dropped this time around, it's highly unlikely it will be ever brought back, as the attempt to revitalise the division has totally failed, due to the fact that there is no way that the women in today's game can compete with the pace and intensity of the male's, whilst 5 years ago, it was somewhat of an easier prospect. [Jon Farrer]

Both Silver And I Had A Few Choice Things To Say About This Rumor!

From Silver's Report 09-07-01
I hope ya'll have your ears plugged, because I'm fixing to go on a serious rant.  What this guy is saying is SUCH bullshit!  Number one, he has lousy freaking grammar, as you might notice in the second sentence of his post.  Number two, he can't freaking spell.  And most importantly, the whole damn reason that they made a women's division was so that the women could compete against EACH OTHER for their OWN exclusive title.  And the attempt to "revitalize" the women's division did NOT fail because women don't compete on the same level as the males.  It failed because 9 times out of 10, any angle that the women were given was dropped before it really had a chance to develop.  This guy needs to examine his facts a little more thoroughly before he goes to shooting off his mouth!

WebMaster's Additional Note
Well said Silver and I have some more to add. If anyone noticed there was starting to be a good fan following for WOW Women Of Wrestling even though their programs were on extremely late at night (at least in our region). I found the wrestling entertaining although the announcer team left something to be desired.  The WWF has promised us forever to "ramp up the division" but have never really followed through on their promises. Once again so that they could push their weight around they dropped the ball with Chyna.  You build somebody up and imagine this - they want more money.  If nothing else, since her contract isn't up yet, let her lose in a match to someone like? - Lita (what an innovative idea).

The moron above who stated "as the attempt to revitalise the division has totally failed" apparently works for the WWF because as far as viewers who are really interested in the women are concerned there NEVER HAS BEEN A BIG PUSH TO GET THEM OVER! 'Nough said?

09/28/01 Internet News
This is kind of strange.  I just saw a commercial for the Oklahoma State Fair Monster Truck show on Friday and Saturday night,  which stated that the WWF Monster Trucks would be appearing.  The advertisement also promoted "Joanie Laurer... Formerly Chyna Of The WWF will be appearing on Saturday!" Is there a tie-in between the two?  Could the WWF be partially sponsoring some of Chyna's (oops, excuse me - Joanie's) new career decisions? For those of you that are interested she will be in Oklahoma City on Saturday night at the fairgrounds between 5:30-7:30 pm CST. [owow.com]

10/19/01 Internet Rumors
Chyna's WWFE contract ends at the ladder part of this month. At that time, the issue of the Women's title will be addressed. Early reports are stating that the WWF has completely dropped the idea of even having a Women's title. [Ryan Clark]

----- The WWF is expected to bring back the Women's championship belt after Chyna's contract runs up in several weeks. The reason we have not seen much of the belt is because Chyna is the current champion. With that, the WWF cannot move on with the division until her contract expires. [Ryan Clark]

WebMaster's Note: Nothing like conflicting reports from the same person is there.

11/02/01 Internet News/Rumors
No expectations for Chyna to be brought back in. Apparently her ego got in the way of contract renewal which led to her departure from the company. Her contract expires pretty soon and will not be renewed. Although she never burned any bridges with Jim Ross and could be back for a short stint in the future if all goes well and the situation calls for someone like herself to be brought back in. [Matthew Boone]

----- As many know, Chyna will be appearing in December's edition of Playboy Magazine. The current issue of Playboy Magazine includes the following preview for Chyna's appearance: "The wrestler formerly know as the WWF character Chyna" is appearing in next months issue. Many speculate that she wasn't paid nearly as much as her first appearance in this magazine.

Speaking of Chyna, reports indicate that she will play the main villain role in a new TV series entitled "Tracker." However, TrackerTV's website states that she had a tough time with the final fighting scene and doesn't expect her back for the following season. [Ray Kim]

----- The artist formerly known as Chyna appeared on Howard Stern Monday (the 26th) morning. Stern was throwing shots at Chyna saying that the Playboy graphic artists 'brushed out her penis' from the Playboy pictorial. Uh oh! Laurer commented on her breakup with Triple H saying that he denied having an affair with Stephanie and then she found letters which Steph wrote which confirmed her story. Chyna confronted Stephanie in front of her father about her relationship. The former Women's champ added that since they broke up, Triple H never talked to her and she said that if he and Steph break up in the future, he would have to "kiss Vince's @ss" to stay in the business! Ouch! [Colin Vassallo]

----- Chyna appeared Tuesday night on a celebrity edition of  the NBC program Fear Factor.  Pitted against Coolio, Donny Osmond, David Hasslehoff, Kelly Preston and Brooke Burns.  Chyna did well in the first two events which included having to stick her head into a tank of live worms, centipedes and scorpions.  Although she admitted afterwards that she was scared she managed to last the 3 minutes and complete the round.

She was unable to finish the 3rd round of competition however when she fell while negotiating a narrow walkway while being hoisted 100 feet in the air.  Her safety equipment  - which fit quit nicely while accenting her breasts - worked well so she was unharmed during the fall.  She won $25,000 for her charity organization. ----- It was reported recently that in this week's National Enquirer tabloid, there is a controversial article about Joanie Laurer, who everyone knows as the former Chyna. Towards the end of the tabloid it states how Chyna was never re-hired by the WWF because, according to Chyna, the WWF "wasn't big enough for the 3 of us," regarding to Chyna, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. According to the article, Chyna was suspicious of Triple H cheating on her with none other than Stephanie and suspected Triple H took the angle too far.

When Chyna confronted HHH, he left and Chyna looked in Triple H's suitcase. In the case, she found love letters from Stephanie to Triple H dating back to a year. Then, when Steph, Chyna, and HHH all went to Vince, Vince said he thought HHH and Chyna were over, so he fully supported his daughter's and HHH's newly found relationship. When Chyna asked Steph what was going on, Steph simply said,

"Paul [Triple H] and I just deeply care for each other."

Today's USA Today (December 18) has a list of the top selling books for 2001. In the Sports category "Foley is Good: And the Real World is Faker Than Wrestling" by Mick Foley is #3 and "If They Only Knew" by Chyna (Joanie Laurer) is #4.
