02/06/04 Internet Rumor Joanie Laurer, formerly known as "Chyna" in WWE, will soon be making her presence felt in NWA-TNA. Laurer, who last worked for WWE in 2001, had been trying her hand in Hollywood as an actress. However, her only film appearance was considered a flop, and Laurer turned her attention to music. Laurer also had been engaged to fellow former D-X member Sean "X-Pac" Waltman in November 2002, but the two had a less than amicable breakup as profiled on the television show "Celebrity Justice". Laurer recently adopted a variation of her popular wrestling personna, "Chynna Doll" in the hopes that it would bring more name recognition, as people might remember her more with the "Chyna' variation as her new name. In any event, "Chynna Doll" is set to make her NWA-TNA debut on February 18th. It's being rumored that she will work a program with Jonny Fairplay, possibly acting as a personal bodyguard to protect him from the rash of recent beatings he has undergone at the hands of TNA wrestlers. 02/17/04 Internet News NWATNA.com has announced that Joanie Laurer will not be appearing on Wednesday night’s PPV as had been previously announced. Last week it was reported that Laurer would debut as a guest on the Playing Fair With Jonny Show, hosted by Jonny Fairplay. On the website’s ad for Wednesday’s PPV, it said, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Joanie Laurer will not be appearing on the PPV".
02/27/04 Internet Rumor Joanie Laurer, formerly known in WWE as 'Chyna', was supposed to debut in NWA-TNA in a segment with Jonny Fairplay. It was announced that due to unforseen circumstances, she would not be appearing as scheduled. According to reliable sources within NWA-TNA, it has been stated that part of the reason that Joanie Lauer did not appear at NWA:TNA this past week was that she wanted a first class airline ticket to the show and NWA:TNA refused to give her one because she had previously agreed to fly coach. Due to her change in attitude, people who had been high on bringing in the former WWE Superstar quickly changed their minds and soured on using her in future plans. It was even said that "Laurer wasn't worth the trouble and likely wouldn't be a drawing point". Even during his "promo" on Joanie Laurer, Jonny Fairplay was actually telling the truth when he stated she made huge demands to be brought in, and it was the truth. Most people think Laurer was in no position to be making these type of demands since he had been out of the North American wrestling eye for almost 3 years. 03/19/04 Internet News My girlfriend and I just got back from seeing Chyna's band perform at the El Rey theater here in Los Angeles. The music itself was god-awful, and by the third song, the audience had dwindled from 40 people to 15 (keeping in mind, the capacity of the El Rey is around 1000). Some of the high points of the show were an R&B number in which she wailed about "having a man who was screwing my boss' daughter," her prowling around onstage, placating to the cameras, the two of us singing the chorus of "I love rock and roll" into her microphone, mere inches away from her glittery, booze-drenched breasts, and finally, a DX crotch chop to close out the show. A greasy-haired, 80's rock looking guy was running from audience to stage and back with a handheld video camera capturing the whole experience. Can you guess who this might have been...? None other than the legendary X-Pac, whom we'd thought had recently been the recipient of a restraining order from Chyna. After the show, we spoke briefly to Chyna. She was very pleasant, grateful for our attendance, until I asked who she liked on Sunday for WrestleMania, to which she simply shook her head, and mumbled something about not being interested. On our way out, we cornered X-Pac on his way out of the men's room (after he'd been in there for a good 10 minutes... you figure it out) and asked him the same question regarding WM. Like his apparent girlfriend, he was not interested in discussing WWE business. We asked him if he was still working, and after a brief pause, he looked away, and muttered something about being in semi-retirement. We then asked him what he was doing in general, to which he replied, "Supporting my lady, and it's hard work!" They were both pleasant and friendly, but appeared damaged, and anything to do with wrestling was definitely taboo. She's used a demo CD for promotional uses and has rapped this song (which is a remix of the 1970's version of China Girl by David Bowie) at many concert including a concert at Barfly. Speaking of CDs a new single from Reggie Benjamin is being released featuring Chynna Doll Joanie Laurer on drums and back up vocals. The single is called "Smile" and it's due out July 13,2004. 07/30/04 Internet News Joanie "Chyna" Laurer will be signing live at the UPW show on Saturday at the Grove in Anaheim. Their set is scheduled for 3:15pm. In addition to that, Laurer will have two pieces of exposure for her band in the August 9th National Enquirer. 11/19/04 Internet News It appears that both Sean Waltman & Chyna have agreed to release their “sex tape” and have signed a deal with the same company that produced Paris Hilton’s infamous tape. The working title of the tape will be “One Night In China.” The company has actually flown Waltman to China and taped him in front of famous landmarks for the video release, so that it can be depicted as taking place in China. The video company expects a huge amount of publicity to be surrounding the release of this tape. Rather than have the tape circulate around unofficially they decided to work together as a couple and release the tape the proper way. 12/03/04 Internet News The following is from HowardStern.com: Howard saw Chyna Doll's sex tape last night and said it was very disturbing. She and her boyfriend allegedly go to China to make the tape and her boyfriend looks like he had just gotten out of jail. They have sex at first in a very dimly lit area and you can't see anything. Then they have sex again in better lighting and you see way too much. At one point Chyna was dressed in a dominatrix outfit and Howard said she looked like Herman Munster when he dressed up like a rock star. Howard said that Chyna also has ass acne that goes all down her crack. Gary also saw the tape and said he thought it looked like Chyna had some big bruises too.
