Welcome everyone.
Take your seats and relax. My name's Silver and I'll be your hostESS while you're here. Now take
those glasses down, yah those ones with the silver lenses, slip 'em on, and be prepared for a look at the way
I see things in the world of wrestling. I hope you like it and that you come back next week, maybe
even participate in my little weekly Q & A session.
Man, I have been working my butt off the past 2 weeks. I'm sure that you guys probably don't give a flip about that, but I had to whine to somebody LOL Anyways... let's get on with things here. The WWF has a couple of great feuds going right now with the women. First you have the Steph/Trish thing, which I find highly entertaining. Then you have the Chyna/Ivory thing which brought about Chyna's return on Raw this week. The feud between these two isn't as fun to watch as the Steph/Trish feud, but it's still a great storyline. Since Ivory made fun of Chyna when she was "injured." Then she had to go and issue that challenge, and of course Chyna accepted. Now, I would like to see Chyna get the belt just because. But, then who would beat her out for it? None of the women are in her class realistically, but who knows what the writers would do with it. I think Jackie appearing with the Accolytes was a great idea, she needs to be paired with someone that can get her some TV time. Now that I've rattled on for a while, ya'll can get to reading what I'm sure you really came here for... the news and rumors. THE NEWS AND RUMORS -Chyna's autobiography, "If They Only Knew," is now available for pre-order at the WWF ShopZone. The book is just over 300 pages long and will be officially released on January 30. To check out a shot of the cover, check out WWF.com. Expect the WWF to do some heavy promotion of this book when it's released, similar to what they did with Mick Foley's book and Chyna's Playboy pictorial. [Matt Boone] -In Chyna's book, she gives great insight on the business, as well as being herself. Just reading what she had to do to get into the WWF is worth the price of admission for some of you not so hardcore fans of Chyna trying to decide whether or not to buy the book. For the big fans, this is a no-brainer. Among the things you'll learn: - Why she hasn't seen her mom since she was 16. - Who actually took the initiative from Triple H and Shawn Michaels to get her into the WWF. It wasn't Vince! - The jobs she took before her date with destiny in the WWF. Everything from Peace Corps worker to 900 sex line worker! And how a car accident that killed two other people made all the difference between becoming a wrestler and a flight attendant. - Just how close she came to joining WCW and the nWo, and who stopped her! [Mitch Newton] ==>I'm hoping that I'm not terribly broke in the near future so that I can be sure to pick this up. It sounds like an interesting read. -Chyna took part in a media conference call last Thursday (1/11) (to promote her book) If They Only Knew some of the topics brought up was her appearing in Terminator 3. Also she denied ever using steroids. [Justin Fritz] -Chyna is attempting to get the lead role in the Terminator 3 movie. The film is supposed to be scripted for a woman. [Dafydd Denatale] ==>We had some other rumors like this not too long ago. It was shot down then, so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets shot down again. But, then again, Chyna is really busy with the media right now, so I wouldn't discount it all together until we hear something else. Although, I'm not really sure that the WWF would want her out of programming again any time in the near future. -Those fans who didn't get to watch Heat on MTV missed a rather interesting part. 'Stealing' an idea from the box office hit movie "Basic Instinct", Michael Cole interviewed Trish Stratus. At one point, Stratus - who had her legs crossed - uncrossed her legs in front of good 'ol MC and then crossed them again. Movie buffs may remember this scene during the movie "Basic Instinct" where Sharon Stone did the same thing to Michael Douglas...only at that time, Stone was panty-less. We assume Trish had some sort of underwear, or Michael Cole would have gotten a heart attack live on MTV. Yikes! [Colin Vassallo] -The Parents Television Council has already filed another complaint to UPN as well as advertisers. It's regarding the Trish Stratus and Vince McMahon spanking angle on Smackdown. The PTC did not approve of the part and also do not want the WWF taking this storyline any further. ==>Well, apparently THAT didn't work. Trish's spanking match with Jackie on Raw would be what I call taking the storyline a little further. Plus, they replayed the segment of her and Vince. -We will definitely see a lot more of the Trish Stratus/Vince McMahon angle being laid out in the next coming weeks. On RAW, we will continue to see the layout for this interesting storyline put out by WWF officials. [Mark Peters] -The WWF is looking to give Debra a better storyline and position. Debra will be given a new role in the company, because there are new plans for the commissioner angle right now. With the focus being on the Vince/Stephanie/Trish angle, and with Foley and Linda being out for now, she hasn't been given much to do. WWF writers have been brainstorming on ideas, and there are rumors of using her as a backstage interview personality. She will be used sparingly, due to the fact that she travels with the WWF full time with her husband Steve Austin. The WWF wants to continue to utilize her popularity. ==>I don't know about this whole Debra thing. Her being married to Austin seems to limit her abilities in the company. It's hard not to step on toes in real life with situations like these. -The Chyna vs. Ivory match has not been touched on yet but evidence suggests that it will go down. The originally projected Val Venis/Billy Gunn match pretty much went down at RAW and it is almost a given that Chyna will appear at the Royal Rumble but will not be a part of the 30-person battle royal. What that means is that she will either tag up with Billy Gunn to take on Val and Ivory or she will put aside her past differences with the women's division at challenge for the title. In a really interesting piece of note, Chyna recently participated in a conference call and stated that she would not see participation in the women's division as a step down from her previous form as an Intercontinental champion. What this ultimately means is that she's okay (or has been convinced to be okay) with fighting Ivory if the situation arises. And if you really want to get picky like me, with Chyna's book coming out at the end of the month, there is no better publicity than to represent the WWF as their women's champion. So in essence, everything is pointing to not only a match against Ivory but perhaps a title win as well. We shall find out soon enough. [Chris Goldsmith] -Chyna vs. Ivory for the Women's Title has been added to the Royal Rumble card. A Lot have speculated as to why Chyna is fighting for the Women’s title when she said she has no interest in it at all. This is clearly to prove a point to the RTC, and most expect Chyna to either get Disqualified or to lose the match. [Kevin Gregg] ==>If she has to lose, it should be by disqualification. I don't think they should let Ivory pin her. -There are some rumors stating that in the near future (possible No Way Out) Trish and Stephanie will go at it in some type of gimmick match. There is obvious heat between the two, and the WWF feels it could be a decent draw to see them going at each other. Once again this is a rumor, and it should be taken as that. [Kevin Gregg] -A bit of sad news for Nicole Bass, her condition has worsened and due to that, her husband Bob, suffered a heart attack. She is still in the hospital and is waiting to undergo surgery. [Jonathan Siderman] ==>On a serious note, I hope you are all keeping Nicole and her husband in your thoughts. -Prodigette, erstwhile manager of Bilvis Wesley with Tom Marquez, is still working with ECW, but will no longer be touring with ECW. She is currently on the indies. Speaking of Prodigette, I recently had the pleasure of interviewing her. She talks about breaking into shootfighting, pro wrestling, working with Simon Diamond, Bilvis Wesley, working in Japan, being contacted by WCW and WWF and more. Check it out at CrimsonMask.com [Alexi Franklin] -Here is a tidbit nobody is picking up on, did you know Rena Mero is involved with Fusient Media Ventures? What's that? Rena Mero involved with WCW's new parent company? Yes! Rena Mero's official web site is hosted and run by a company called TheThreshold.com, an internet entertainment company that is geared towards guys featuring "ThresholdBabes" and original flash produced internet shows geared towards (conveniently) the same type of demographics as World Championship Wrestling. Who is the main investor in TheThreshold.com? You guessed it... Fusient Media Ventures. While this obviously does not guarantee a run in WCW by Rena Mero, it is a well known fact she has faded from the spotlight and would love to return to her "glory years" as a wrestling diva... and with her web host in cahoots with WCW's new ownership... we just might see Rena Mero involved in the new WCW once her no-compete with the World Wrestling Federation expires. [Mitch Newton] ==>Haha. That sounds like saying something about your brother's wife's friend's cousin's girlfriend or something. Just because she has a remote association with the new owners of WCW doesn't mean anything. -Torrie Wilson has now hired a lawyer to negotiate with WCW. [Joe Starson] ==>She'd better start with being a little less demanding in the money department. She's not a vital asset to the company because she doesn't really do anything other than attach herself to a male wrestler and run her mouth off. It's not that I don't like her, I just think she may be asking a little much financially considering all of the changes that are taking place in WCW. -Currently, the WWF is in the process of working on an angle for WWF Diva, Tori, to return around. Right now, there are very sketchy details about her future angle to come out on but when more is released about this situation, I will let you all know. [Mark Peters] ==>Damn, I wish they'd just put her on TV already. -As reported elsewhere over the Internet, it has now been made official that Pamela Paulshock is no longer with WCW. Before, the "news" was actually all speculation, but it is now official. [George Epstein] ==>What I want to know is why they keep getting rid of all the women? First Torrie, then Miss Hancock, and now Pamela. Who will be the next to go? -There are rumors floating around the internet of Lita accepting a deal to pose for Penthouse. That is just completely false. Lita has not and will most likely never pose for Penthouse. Lita herself denied the Penthouse rumors. Also, because of the strong relationship the WWF has with Playboy, if Lita chose to pose then it would be for Playboy. Secondly, So if you read any "news reports" of Lita accepting a Penthouse deal, it is nothing but a lie. ==>I'm sure that there are a few of you that are sad to hear that. -In April, Teen People magazine will be releasing exclusive photos of Lita and an in-depth interview with her in the magazine. So make sure you pick up a copy of the magazine in April. [Adrian Wilson] -Speculation has it that we may see a return by Linda McMahon sometime between now and WrestleMania X-Seven. She will most likely return to seek revenge on Vince McMahon and anyone who is aligned with him at that time. [Mark Peters] -On Thursday, January 11, the five original Nitro Girls [including Teri Byrne and Melissa "Spice" Bellin] celebrated the sale of WCW in style: at the WWF Restaurant in New York City! The girls were immediately recognized by the fans in attendance and were quickly swarmed for photos and autographs. The party finally concluded with dinner and a toast to the new regimen at World Championship Wrestling. [Joe Starson] -Ocala, Florida-For most local independents, their first shows are usually their last. However, HVW promoter Kenny Garrett and High Voltage Wrestling http://www.hvwrestling2001.homestead.com/1.html have vowed to set its critics straight by producing their first successful money gaining show this Saturday, January 20th, at the Ocala Sportsplex (Right off Airport Rd.) right here in Ocala. With a bell time of 3pm, and tickets only costing $10, HVW has promised to deliver one of the most entertainingly fulfilling shows of all time for North Central Florida. "I hope it will be a great show." says HVW talent coordinator Bruiser Layton. "We are bringing in the best workers in Florida such as Drunk and Disorderly, Von Tankard, Halo 13, The Cutthroats, Spook City, and more so the entire card is very solid from where we (HVW) stand. On top of that, we have 3 former WWF, WCW, and ECW stars such as BB Bush, Wolfie D., and Mr. Bill Alphonso, so we as well as are fans are extremely excited about that aspect of our show. In closing though, simply put, we are out to shock the wrestling world." Bell time is 3pm, and tickets are $10. For more information including the address of the Ocala Sports Plex, email BruserDaddy@aol.com or KenyinBelleview@webtv.net. Until Saturday, I’ll see you at ringside! [Mark Abel] -WCW Live! recently announced that the whole Ms. Hancock pregnancy angle has been officially dropped. No word on the status of Ms. Hancock and WCW as of yet. [Mitch Newton] ==>They made a smart move there. That story got real old real fast. -News is emerging around the Internet that Road Dogg is on the verge of being paired with the Kat or another WWF diva upon any possible return he may have with the federation in the future. This rumor shouldn’t be looked upon as a truthful statement, even though it emanated right from the heart of the WWF, in their monthly publication the “WWF Magazine”. Possible reasons for this statement slipping into the final press of the magazine is that the article may have actually been written before Road Doggs recent demise from the federation, following an “indefinite suspension”, or the WWF are trying to keep the Road Dogg in some sort of spotlight so that fans don’t forget about him and write him off from ever returning. Either way, its not been unheard of for there to be inaccurate, or outdated material published in the monthly WWF publications and in this case, the most likely scenario is that it was a future plan for Road Dogg, but in light of recent events this is unlikely to occur now, with the article probably slipping through unnoticed and being neglected to be edited to avoid the confusion it is now throwing up. To quickly update you on the entire Road Dogg situation, he remains suspended with out pay and will not receive any pay, which may have been pending. The WWF will address the situation in the near future and its likely Road Dogg will face some sort of disciplinary measures, and if the matter is drug related and as serious as some reports have made out, then he could face instant dismal, but in light of him telling Indy promoters that he is indeed a free agent again, he has either been dismissed already and news of it has been kept under wraps, or he is expecting to be released once the WWF contact him as he is aware the seriousness of the incident he was suspended for. [Mitch Newton] -In the latest issue of WCW Magazine, Madusa trashed WWF Women's Superstar Chyna. Check this new issue out to see the WCW continue to attack the WWF in many different ways. [Michael Payton] ANSWERS TO LAST WEEK'S QUESTIONS (1) What side is Stephanie going to end up on, Vince or Linda's? And what role will she play in the Vince/Trish angle? -Kurt Angle announced that Trish will be in his corner at the Royal Rumble when he faces Triple H, and Stephanie will obviously be in Triple H's corner. We all know that Stephanie is not happy with the way Trish is acting with her father, Vince. Come the match at the Royal Rumble. Trish and Stephanie will get into a fight and Vince will come out and stop the fight. They will ask him to choose a side but he wont. Come the end of the match. Kurt is in trouble and Trish is worried. Trish goes up to Vince and teases him and whispers in his ear. Vince hits Triple H with the belt or something and helps Kurt Angle win, thus making Trish happy and Stephanie furious. Stephanie slaps him and she and Triple H leave. Vince then goes to Trish and Kurt to celebrate and when he turns his back, Trish and Kurt attack him. It turns out that Trish and Kurt were in it all along and Trish was only using Vince to ensure a victory with Kurt. This also leaves Stephanie mad at Vince, which will lead to either two things- (1) Stephanie is mad at Vince for choosing Trish over her so she brings Linda back and Linda brings Mick Foley back and they are all working together, or (2) Stephanie isn't mad at Vince anymore after she saw Trish and Angle screwing him so she gets mad at Trish and Angle and its another big feud. THIS WEEK'S QUESTIONS (1) Depending on who wins the Ivory vs. Chyna match, what after effects do you think that will have on these two characters? MY WEEKLY RATINGS
