Welcome everyone.
Take your seats and relax. My name's Silver and I'll be your hostESS while you're here. Now take
those glasses down, yah those ones with the silver lenses, slip 'em on, and be prepared for a look at the way
I see things in the world of wrestling. I hope you like it and that you come back next week, maybe
even participate in my little weekly Q & A session.
Well, I'm gonna start off this week just peachy by saying from the start that the news situation sucks a big hairy butt. I don't know what is up in the wrestling world, but there was virtually nothing to be found anywhere on the internet this past week. That really hacks me off! Survivor Series is this weekend and this is the sorriest excuse for a PPV build up I have ever seen. The only thing they are concentrating on is the WWF vs. The Alliance. Which, I will agree, is the main point of the whole thing. But, in case you didn't see Smackdown this week, William Regal told Ivory that there was going to be a 6 person elimination type match for the Women's title at Survivor Series. Mind you, he didn't go out to the ring to say it. He didn't announce it so that everyone could hear. It's not on SurvivorSeries.com yet. He told Ivory this important bit of information in his OFFICE. You may be thinking to yourself, "What's the big deal about that, Silver?" Well, the big deal is that they COULD have had a little more build up to the match. They COULD have made the announcement in the ring. They COULD have done a lot of things. But the simple fact is that they didn't. The match was added with no buildup, no excitement, no hype whatsoever. Just... boom - there's a match... just like that. Frankly, I'm disgusted. Not that my teeny weeny opinion matters in the grand scheme of things, but it's mine all the same. They also mentioned that there was going to be a "surprise entrant" into the match. Now, I'm thinking that's either going to be Jazz or Victoria. Jazz has been wrestling at house shows and in dark matches with Lita, so they seem to be building for her debut. And Victoria has been in OVW for a while, "brushing up on her skills". I don't think it will be Nidia because she hasn't been around for that long, and the same thing goes for Paisley. Besides, Paisley can't wrestle. Bottom line there pardner. I'm done ranting about that for now... too tired to go on much longer. I'm just hoping that I'm still making sense by the end of the report! <grin> I did the best I could do with the news and rumors, so make sure you read what IS there. THE NEWS AND RUMORS -The WWF had decided to break apart the boyfriend-girlfriend storyline of Spike Dudley and Molly Holly per request of the lady now known as, "Mighty Molly." Apparently Molly Holly addressed the Spike Dudley storyline to management and claimed she did not like playing the role of "goody two shoes" and would rather play a heel character which fit in perfect with the rising Hurricane gimmick looking for a female sidekick. [Matthew Boone] ==>Unfortunately for Molly, she just doesn't seem to be the heel type. She's too cutsie and good for her own safety. If that girl is going to be a heel, she needs to be a little meaner! -XWF is hoping to have Chyna work for them beginning in January. [Fred Cook] Message from BodybyJoanie.com:
Hi everyone! [Wrestlingdotcom] -Torrie Wilson and Billy Kidman remain an off-screen couple since their relationship started back in the Time Warner ran WCW. Billy Kidman showed signs of jealousy towards Torrie Wilson's enthusiasm towards her chemistry with Tajiri. This caused Torrie Wilson to tone it down a bit, but not enough to anger management. [Matthew Boone] -Torrie Wilson has announced on her website that she has just got back from the Bahamas where she did a WWF photo shoot with Stacy Keibler and Sara (Undertakes wife). [Ryan Clark] -Torrie Wilson and Billy Kidman are engaged. The announcement was made official on the Howard Stern show on Thursday, November 15th. [Ryan Clark] -To further update the Torrie Wilson/Billy Kidman engagement situation, the proposal from Kidman took place shortly after the two arrived in Albany,. New York for the SmackDown! tapings on Tuesday. Obviously at this time, plans are only beginning for a wedding. I'm sure Torrie's official website, TorrieWilson.net will have much more info on it in the coming weeks. [Ryan Clark] ==>Congratulations to Torrie and Billy. -Jasmin St. Claire will play the role of the South Philly Posse’s manager (XFW). The SPP used to go by the name of Public Enemy. [Amish Patel] -The WWF has been talking about returning the entire Vince/Linda divorce angle in upcoming weeks. It really looks like things are going to start to heat up over the next few weeks, first with Survivor Series this Sunday. Ric Flair, as reported, is slated to possibly make an appearance on RAW Monday and with the Linda/Vince divorce angle possibly coming back into play, next week's Carolina TV tapings look to be the major turning point within the company. [Ryan Clark] -Trish Stratus was backstage at SmackDown! on Tuesday, but was not used. She will be a part of Sunday's PPV Women's match. [Ryan Clark] ==>Personally, I think she's the one that's going to walk away with the title because of some things that have been said and implied in recent weeks. I don't think she deserves it, but one doesn't have to DESERVE a title to get one around the WWF camp these days. ANSWERS TO LAST WEEK'S QUESTION (1) Out of the Divas at Ohio Valley Wrestling (Nidia, Jazz, Paisley, and Victoria), which one would you most like to see have a regular role on WWF TV? Who would you like to see them in an angle/feud with? -Man can you believe all the talent the WWF has right now in their diva department. Let's look at all this talent closer. Out of everyone, I would have to say I'm most excited about Victoria. I get to watch MCW where I live and have seen some of Victoria's matches. She is a very accomplished wrestler and has a even better moonsault than Lita. Trust me. Plus who can forget that she is the hoe that took that devastating power bomb through the table from the Goodfather last year. I really hope she makes it into the WWF. Next is Nidia. She is also a very good wrestler from the looks of it. Plus she already has a fan base which is a positive because for some reason, the WWF won't ever give a good angle to a diva so they can get over with the crowd. She would be an added plus. Next would be Jazz. Man can this woman wrestle. She is probably one of the best female wrestlers of all time. She could come into the WWf proclaiming to be the toughest woman in the WWf now, which would make Jackie come out saying that title belongs to her and BAM! you have an angle with Jackie Vs Jazz. Two of the best women wrestlers of all time. Lastly is Paisley. Why did the WWF sign her? Out of these four, this one has the least talent. She wasn't very over in WCW and didn't have any wrestling talent. The WWF should have kept Tori and not signed this girl. Well I'm always open to everyone, so if she makes it on TV, then she might impress me. Then I'll be having to give her the props she deserves but from what I've seen of hers in WCW, she was not impressive. I think Nidia, Jazz, and Victoria are good investments but I'll have to see about Paisley. -Of all the divas at OVW, I would say I would most like Jazz to have regular role on WWF TV. She is a great wrestler in ECW and was my favorite ECW woman. I think a feud between her and Jacqueline would be entertaining to see. -Out of these four up and coming women, I am most anxious to see Nidia debut. I'm not very familiar with Jazz or Paisley, and personally I think Victoria is pretty nasty, but I think Nidia could be put in some great roles involving Tough Enough male winner Maven, or Tough Enough trainers Tazz, Al Snow or Jackie. I also love her hair! -I would like to see Victoria in the WWF god knows she has been down in OVW the longest of all the females. One thing is she is a fresh face both Jazz and Paisley we have seen before and Nidia just does not spark any interest for me as of yet. Victoria seems like she will be a very outgoing and vocal female superstar and that is what they need. As far as an angle with her goes a good one could be teaming her up with a WWF male wrestler and trying to exact some revenge upon Steven Richards of the alliance for all the attacks and heartache he inflicted on her. I think since Val Venus is down in OVW as well and he was part of the RTC that they should team up when the both come back to the WWF and go after Members of the old RTC. I believe that only Steven Richards and Ivory are the only active wrestlers from the old RTC at the moment but the two of them could come back starting a feud with both of them. The old ghosts of the past coming back to haunt you angle. -If I had to choose one of these four women to get the call up to WWF, I think I'd have to go with Victoria. She and Jazz have the most in-ring experience, but Victoria's look would be a bit more distinctive than Jazz's in the current women's division lineup. I don't know about her returning with the Godfather, as I feel the whole "ho" thing offensive and confining. However, if the Godfather and Victoria were repackaged with a new gimmick, I'd be down to see them together in the WWF. -Out of all those girls, I would have to say that the best girl to return would be either Victoria or Paisley or Jazz. I really don't care for Nidia so If Victoria came in I would like to see her align herself with someone like Chuck Palumbo or Mr. Ass Billy Gunn. If Jazz comes in she should probably align herself with Farooq and have her make him big until Jackie walks in on them making out and goes berserk. She attacks her and the two have to be pulled apart. This doesn't sit well with Maven who comes to Jackie's rescue and the four have a series of tag matches. Paisley could also feud with Jackie and come in as maybe her sister and get caught messing with Maven and that could lead to the two having a series of catfights with Jackie coming out on top. Maven could declare his love for either one and the other would go find a new man to feud with Maven. Victoria could go with probably Chuck Palumbo and he could have Billy Gun as his partner and they could develop a new tag-team. They could be very successful until they had to face Lance Storm and Billy Kidman with Ivory. After Victoria gets involved Ivory could attack her and the two could tangle in a few catfights and have tons of wrestling matches THIS WEEK'S QUESTION (1) Will the winner of the Survivor Series Women's match at Survivor Series keep her belt for very long before it changes hands? And don't just answer "yes" or "no" give me a little description on why you think the way you do. Be creative here guys. FROM THE READERS Joey had these comments about some of the Divas:
Jackie: One of my favorite divas! I think the WWF isn't fair with her, they need
to give her a solid storyline! Brian had this to say relating to last weeks' question about Nidia, Victoria, Jazz, and Paisley: I really think we'll be seeing all FOUR of these women on TV very soon, and this is why. Word is that after Survivor Series, WWF and WCW with be splitting into separate entities again. This poses a problem for the women's division, which has truly picked up steam over the past few weeks, BUT . . . it's also only 7 women strong. When it is halved, some serious reinforcements and shakeups are going to be necessary in both WWF and WCW. There are 6 Alliance divas (Stacy, Ivory, Molly, Debra, Terri, and Stephanie) and only 3 WWF divas (Lita, Jackie, and Trish). If the split were to be as simple as Alliance going one way and WWF going the other, the WCW will end up with tons of women (only two of whom can truly be called wrestlers), and the WWF will have only three women (all of whom are capable wrestlers, but three wrestlers does not constitute a division). Let us also not forget that the Alliance has essentially been booked as a heel stable, and they cannot simply be given their own show at this point because nobody wants to watch a show consisting entirely of matches between heels. For all these reasons, when we finally get two different wrestling brands again, I think we'll not only see a mix of WWF and Alliance divas in each, but we'll also have them supplemented by at least a few of the ladies from developmental territories. CONCLUSION Man, it's over already and I didn't really get to go off on a rant about any of the news bits this week. Sure, I went off about that Women's Match, but that doesn't really count, does it? Answer by next Wedneday. Have fun watching the pay per view on Sunday. Until Next Time - Silver |
