Files Lawsuit Against WWE
Former WWE performer Dawn Marie
Psaltis, 35, has filed a complaint against World Wrestling Entertainment with the
EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission), claiming wrongful termination. Dawn
Marie claims she was released from her contract because she became pregnant. All Dawn
Marie wants is to be paid for the remainder of her WWE contract, which had less than
one year remaining on it at the time she was released by World Wrestling Entertainment
in July of 2005. The reason given for her release from WWE management was, "Creative
had no ideas for her." Dawn Marie had been in good standing with the company with
a track record of always being on time and fulfilling whatever duties they asked her
to do.
Dawn Marie gave birth to her first child, a boy, which she named Matthew,
on December 20, 2005. Since being terminated from WWE, Dawn Marie has made two public
appearances for wrestling-related events. She made an appearance at the Retroslam
Convention in New Jersey in October. She also made an appearance at Hardcore Homecoming,
holding the key for the main-event steel cage match. Dawn Marie also accepted a booking
in which she would actually wrestle in a match. She and Jackie Gayda were supposed
to be teaming up to take on Traci Brooks and Lollipop in tag action, for an indy event
on April 26th. However, Dawn Marie later changed her mind and had to back out of the
match. Dawn believed four months would not be enough time to get back into shape for
the match due to the incredible amount of weight she gained from her pregnancy. Dawn
Marie vowed that she will work for the promotion sometime down the road. Dawn Marie
also has an open invitation from TNA president Dixie Carter to join TNA should she
ever choose to.

interest in joining TNA several times in the past year. However, she wanted to lose
the weight she gained from her pregnancy before she would ever consider actually joining
TNA. Dawn Marie has lost just about all the excess weight by now.

Wants To Join TNA
In
an article posted on Slam Sports Dawn discussed coming back to wrestling and wanting to
join up with TNA:
"I want to come back," she told
SLAM! Wrestling with determination. "I love the business, I miss the business,
and I never really finished. I had some weight issues after the pregnancy, but
I'm trying really hard, I've been working out really hard, and hopefully (I'll
be back) soon. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving being a a mom (her son will turn
two in December). But I'm getting antsy, and want to come back."
In light of her recent dispute
with WWE, it's not really surprising that she doesn't see returning to that
company as an option -- "You never say never in this business, but I could
probably say 'never'" -- but instead has her sights set on a different women's
division.
"I would love to be part of the
TNA women's division," she said. "I think TNA is a great company, they've done
so much in the past five years. It reminds me a lot of ECW, and that would be
a great place for me, I think. I'd love to be part of something that's
growing, something that you can feel pride in being part of."

Dawn Making Comeback
Former WWE Diva Dawn Marie is
making a wrestling comeback. She is advertised to appear at the 3/8 Women Superstars
Uncensored show at the ECPW Arena in Lake Hiawatha, NJ. This will be her first wrestling
appearance since June 2006. She'll probably be working an angle with Tammy Sytch, who is
their current champion and commissioner. The ad for Dawn Marie reads:
"Dawn Marie, the former WWE/ECW
diva, will debut for WSU on 3/8. Dawn Marie won't reveal her plans yet, but
has stated that she is scouting everyone on the WSU roster and will make her
move on 3/8! Could Tammy "Sunny" Sytch be someone on Dawn's hit-list? Or
perhaps Dawn is here to rid the evil out of WSU? We'll find out what Dawn has
planned on 3/8 as WSU becomes the first promotion to bring Dawn to a pro
wrestling event in 2008!"
Also, she's taking indy bookings
again.
