Add Gail Kim’s name to World Wrestling Entertainment’s list of talents from around the ‘self-proclaimed centre-of-the-universe,’ Toronto, Ontario.
Kim, a Toronto native, has signed on with WWE and is expected to start work with the company in early December. WWE Vice President of Talent Relations Jim Ross made the announcement Friday on the company’s official website. Ross added that they are in the process of handling her visa issues.
Gail - who went by the ring name of La Felina - has been wrestling for two to three years and got her start at Ron Hutchison’s School of Wrestling in Toronto. She later appeared in stints with independent companies like Apocalypse Wrestling Federation, Michigan Championship Wrestling, Maximum Pro Wrestling, Universal Wrestling Alliance, Border City Wrestling, Insane Wrestling Federation and Foxxy Ladies of Wrestling.
The addition of Kim deepens an already impressive foundation for women’s wrestling in WWE. Trish Stratus is already a three-time World Champion and is joined by athletically-gifted talents such as Victoria, Molly Holly and Jazz. Toronto native Gail Kim made her World Wrestling Entertainment debut with two matches in as many nights in Smackdown! brand house shows over the weekend.
The rookie talent worked two bra and panties matches with WWE Diva Dawn Marie. The first took place in front of a 'home crowd' in Hamilton on Saturday, as she stripped down Al Wilson's lovely fiancée in less than five minutes.
The Thursday night brand also made a stop at Nassau Coliseum at Long Island on Sunday, and Kim was awarded another winning decision over Dawn with No. 1 Smackdown! announcer Funaki as special guest referee.

I would like to say a little bit about the newest diva Gail Kim. While I myself am unfamiliar with her background (maybe someone could help?) I have seen her and heard about her first WWE match. She looks pretty good in the pictures and I was told she is very athletic and physical. She beat Dawn Marie in a Bra and Panties match at a house show. During them match she did a Monkey Flip as well as some other interesting moves. This says two things: one, she is ready to go and should be appearing on TV very soon. Secondly it says that she will probably be heading to the Smackdown side. This will leave Ivory, Jacqueline, Trish, Victoria, and Stacy on RAW and Nidia, Gail, Torrie, and Dawn on Smackdown. World Wrestling Entertainments newest Diva is expected to make her on screen debut very soon! The 25 year old Canadian Gail Kim has been a WWE developmental talent for several months. She spent the majority of her short wrestling career with AWF (Apocalypse Wrestling Federation) being trained by Ron Hutchison, the man responsible for such stars as Edge, Christian & Trish Stratus.
