INTERVIEW 04-21-04

Height: 5'5"

Ivory (Lisa Moretti) made her entrance into the WWF in March of 1999 taking the women's division by storm. This little piece of dynamite began causing explosions as soon as she appeared.  Her very first night as Mark Henry and D'Lo's valet, she managed to distract Jeff Jarrett causing him to lose, and when Debra entered the ring and got in her face about it Debra was awarded a slap right to her mouth.

Ivory is no rookie in the ring.  Several years ago she wrestled under the name of Tina Ferrari, and was one of the top wrestlers in GLOW (The Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling).

Within 3 months Ivory won the Women's Title Belt from Debra during a Monday Night Raw on 6/14/99.  Ivory held the title for over 4 months while she faced challenges from Tori, Moolah, Jackie and Luna. At the No Mercy PPV on 10/17/99 Moolah finally beat Ivory for the title. A week later (10/25) Moolah came out to give the belt back and officially retire but Ivory didn't want any part of that.  She demanded that she be given a rematch and before poor Moolah knew it Ivory had knocked her out and stolen the belt for her second reign as the WWF Women's Champ.

She held the title for another 1-1/2 months until the Armageddon PPV on 12/12/99.  This was definitely a different type of match for Ivory - An Evening Gown match in a swimming pool. The winner would be the last woman who remained in her evening gown.  Ivory fought desperately but eventually she lost the belt to Miss Kitty.

12/16/09 Internet News - WWE Profiles Former Women's Champion
The WWE website caught up with two-time Women's Champion Ivory in their latest "Where Are They Now?" piece. In the first part of this two-part feature, Ivory discusses her early days in the wrestling industry as a member of the all-women's promotion, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (G.L.O.W.).

"It's so hard to watch the footage because we were all so lame at what we did," Ivory recalled. "We didn’t have any trainers. We pretty much figured it all out by watching men’s wrestling."

We didn't have anybody in Vegas. We just had videos and ring time — on a boxing mat mind you, not even a wrestling ring. The thing was stiffer than stiff, like wrestling in your living room or on plywood."

"We were all really young and had a lot of creative freedom, which was really cool. It was like it was our show," she explained of G.L.O.W.. "Let's do this outright, put our costumes on, and really get this thing sold, bring people in."
