In 1998-99, Kristina Laum aka Kimona Wanalaya (ECW) aka Leia Meow (WCW), probably had more Internet rumors posted about where she was going to appear next, than any other woman involved in pro-wrestling (with maybe the exception of Tammy Lynn). The rumors were finally put to rest in December 1999 when she appeared at the WCW Starrcade PPV as Leia Meow, the cheerleader for the Varsity Club.  Hopefully after such a long absence from the wrestling world, The Powers To Be will be able to develop her character to more than just a cheerleader.

She initially met Raven at a club in New Jersey where his roomate was a bouncer. They asked her to join them at an ECW show, and because she's so tiny at 5' 0", she had to climb up on something to see the action. The audience apparently thought she was part of the show and Raven asked her if she would like to join the ECW. Introduced as Raven's new girlfriend after Beulah had dumped him for Tommy Dreamer, Kimona and Beulah eventually became involved in a 'lesbian' storyline that titillated the rabid ECW fans.

Most ECW fans have seen the video tape promo where Kimona is supposedly stripping. Well it's just a marketing tease (like the Francine promo that she declares "I'm gonna show you tit's", believe me she doesn't). On The Edge RealAudio Show hosted by Greg Dillard, Kimona told the real story - The electricity went off and there was almost a riot as the fans began chanting "refund". Paul E. asked her to go out and entertain, so for two songs she did a striptease. She was never naked since there were children in the audience. Because of the heat she got for that, she decided to step away from wrestling for a while.

02/02/01 Internet Rumor
WCW has released five of their top women performers. Those who are said to be gone are Daffney, Paisley, Leia Meow, Major Gunns, and Tygress. Sources within the other two companies (WWF and ECW) have reported that at least two of the women have reportedly called them asking for work.

Eric Bischoff didn't like the profanity and all the women on WCW shows and it was expected that when Fusient Media and Bischoff took over the company, women, etc would be scaled back. Women were given prominent roles under Russo's rule as head of the creative team in WCW. It now appears that the expanded roles of women are WCW are gone. [Nick Moore]

WebMaster's Note: Oh goody. Two of the main reasons I watch (Daffney & the delectable Major Gunns) are going to be gone?  Great, I can get Dustin and Dusty Rhoades instead I suppose.  Their appearance Monday makes me think that we're going to slide backwards in time with the WCW once again.

01/10/03 Internet Rumor
C Madsen, a RajahWWF.com visitor reported the following about the WWE House Show in Anchorage Alaska on 1/5/2003:

Ivory v. Leia Meow Guest Ref Nidia
My girlfriend HATES the chick stuff so i missed out.
Leia's pants came off early.

First - I would definitely tell my girlfriend to kiss off, I'm staying and watching Leia Meow.
Second - We haven't seen anything about Leia & the WWE.  Can anybody confirm this?

01/17/03 Internet Rumor - Update To Rumor Above
OWOW got a number of responses from visitors regarding the rumor above.  Most thought the guy had to be drunk or high, since it was Gail Kim.  Thanks to CandiGirl360 who tracked down this information:

Bra & Panties Match
Special referee: Nidia
Dawn Marie vs. Gail Kim

Now let me get this straight.  You mean to tell me it was a BRA & PANTIES MATCH!!! and the guy let his girlfriend tell him he couldn't watch the match.  Dump her!!
