11/08/99 Monday Nitro Booker T made his way to the ring, in hopes of discussing his brother's suspension from the promotion (Stevie Ray was censured for losing to Bagwell). Booker T said he would beat down both Jarrett and Creative Control that night – in a Harlem street fight. The trio quickly accepted the offer and made their way to the ring. Jarrett joined the commentating position; CC prepared to fight Booker T.
Despite being outnumbered, Booker T did manage to dominate Creative Control with his uncanny combination of speed, agility and strength. Enter Double-J. The trio worked over Booker T, until a muscle-bound female attacked Jarrett; The Chosen One fought back with a guitar shot (I guess Jarrett makes exceptions to his rule about striking women). Booker T and the female struggled back to the dressing room. [wcw.com]
11/11/99 Thursday Thunder Gene asked Booker T who the mystery woman was that came into the ring during his match this past Monday. Booker T said not to worry about who she was, but no one had better mess with her. [wcw.com]
11/15/99 Monday Nitro Pre-match, Creative Control left their jackets and shades at the commentating table. The well-dressed duo dominated the contest with clotheslines and kicks, but Booker T still managed to execute a Missile Dropkick and score a near-fall. In the end, Booker T lost the match. But Creative Control failed to heed the Harlem Heater's pre-match warning: After the lights went out, Midnight – Booker T's jacked valet – entered the ring and helped clean house. [wcw.com]
11/29/99 Monday Nitro Not only did Hennig survive the retirement mandate passed down from The Powers, the Minnesota-legend has quickly become a powerful player within their twisted hierarchy. Helping on the outside, Hennig helped Creative Control gain momentum in this bout, despite an inspired bout of offense from Booker T and Buff Daddy. The challengers made a comeback, however, giving Bagwell an opportunity to hit the Buff Blockbuster. Thanks to Hennig, CC managed a reversal of fortune by using a chair. Post-match, Midnight struck. Booker T's jacked valet cleared the ring with dropkicks. Backstage, The Powers verbally assaulted Creative Control for getting attacked by a woman. When Hennig agreed, The Powers signed a match between Hennig and Midnight. [wcw.com]
12/02/99 Thursday Thunder The female phenom did surprisingly well against Hennig, utilizing a series of right hooks and classic wrestling maneuvers. But the Minnesota legend had no plans on getting beaten. Hennig started grinding Midnight with an abdominal stretch. That's when the arena went dark. When the lights returned, Stevie Ray was in the ring. But, before the Harlem Heater could crush Hennig, the arena went dark again. This time, Curly Bill arrived and began helping his former Redneck leader. Like a slow-motion strobe, the lights went out for a third and final time. This time, Anderson and his tire iron made the all-important cameo, helping Midnight and Stevie Ray clear the ring. [wcw.com]
12/06/99 Monday Nitro Asya attacked Midnight at the bell. They went at it for a few minutes until The Revolution hit the ring and beat on Midnight with the flag for a DQ.
12/19/99 Starrcade PPV This tag team title match up was tainted from the start. Booker T and Midnight were abandoned by partner Stevie Ray, but fought against the three big men as well as any team. However, fighting three on two is never easy and when you have a team like CC and Hennig (not to mention Shane), who have no objections to cheating to win and using whatever means necessary, the deck was very definitely stacked against the challengers. Midnight more than earned her stripes as Creative Control and Hennig took no mercy on her. Coming to ring side, Stevie Ray argued with brother Booker T resulting in Booker T telling his brother he no longer wanted his help. He may not have wanted it, but he needed it and Stevie Ray stayed by the ring in case Booker T changed his mind. Booker T tagged in and made mince meat of the threesome until Hennig, using a foreign object slammed Booker T in the back of the head, knocking him out and allowing the team of Creative Control and Hennig to take the victory. 01/06/00 Thursday Thunder Booker T said that when Stevie Ray was out hurt, Booker T tried to fight alone, but kept getting attacked. For this reason, he went out and found Midnight. Booker said he wanted his brother back in the fold. Stevie Ray came out and told Booker T he wanted a match against Midnight later in the show. Booker T said if Midnight won the match Stevie had to welcome her into Harlem Heat. During the match Stevie Ray dominated Midnight with his awesome power. As he went for the cover, he repeatedly pulled Midnight off the canvas before the three-count, wanting to deliver more punishment. Ray pulled out the slapjack, but Booker T came to ringside and talked Ray out of using it. As Ray picked Midnight up from a pin attempt again, she cradled Stevie and scored an upset pin for the victory. Ray hugged Midnight and Booker, then slapjacked both of them, leaving them lying in the middle of the ring. [wcw.com]
01/12/99 Wednesday Thunder It was supposed to be a 3-way match between Stevie Ray, Booker T & Midnight. Midnight was already in the ring. While Booker T was still backstage heading ringside, Stevie hit him from behind with a chair to the head, knocking his brother out. Stevie entered the ring and beat on Midnight unmercifully for several minutes until a revived Booker T charged into the ring and hammered Stevie until he slipped out of the ring and to the floor. The ref counted to 10 which eliminated Stevie from the match. He of course had this planned since someone had to win the match and this would leave both Booker T and Midnight to face each other for the win. After a few seconds of staring at each other Booker T and Midnight began wrestling. Midnight did an admirable job of defending herself against her much larger opponent. Just as Booker T hit the ropes to finish Midnight off though, Stevie pulled on the top rope so his brother hit the floor. Whipping out his slapjack he hit Booker T in the head and dumped his nearly unconscious brother into the ring. Telling a bewildered Midnight "There he is, pin him, I gave him to you on a silver platter" Stevie watched as Midnight laid down on the mat and pulled Booker T over on herself to give him the win. She then got up and had several words with Stevie who was now on the ring apron. Drop kicking him to the floor, she then returned to check on Booker T's condition. Stevie re-entered the ring and used the slapjack on Midnight's head, leaving her unconscious and Booker T slowly regaining his senses in the middle of the ring.
01/16/00 Souled Out PPV Finally the battle between the two brothers! Once Stevie Ray entered the ring Booker T asked Midnight to leave the ringand she headed for the backstage area. Both men waged a hard fought battle inside and outside the ring. Just as it looked like Booker T. would win the match a huge 'gorilla' rushed into the ring and knocked Booker right off of his feet. As both men picked Booker T off the mat to punish him some more Midnight ran to the ring but found herself unable to help as Stevie blocked her from getting into the ring. Stevie Ray announced that there was a new Harlem Heat and that Big T (Ahmed Johnson - WWF) was his new partner. They left the ring while a distressed Midnight helped Booker T. For Pics - Click Here.
01/17/00 Monday Nitro In an interview with Mean Gene, Booker T talked about his brother's betrayal the night before. He promised to show Big T and Stevie Ray some real street justice. Later in the ring the new Harlem Heat offered Booker T a chance to join Harlem Heat, but when Booker T arrived at the ring with Midnight, Stevie demanded that she return to the locker room. Still in a shirt and tie, Booker T. attacked Big T and while trying to take on both big men, received a shot from Big T with the slapjack.
01/24/00 Monday Nitro Package got on the mic and said Sting was a coward for sitting home watching instead of being there. He said that no one in the sport could match what he has done, not even Hulk Hogan. Booker came out and the match was on. T dominated over The Total Package, in and out of the squared circle. Package turned it up a notch, throwing T into the front row of fans. After a big scissor kick and the Harlem sidekick, Booker went for the pin, but was distracted by Liz. Midnight came out, chasing off Liz, but in the ring, Stevie Ray and Big T attacked Booker. This allowed Package to easily put Booker T into the Torture Rack for the underhanded win. [wcw.com]
01/28/00 Internet Rumor Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald reported that Midnight is currently negotiating a long-term deal with WCW but has no plans to make wrestling a career. She's hoping to use it as a stepping stone to get into acting. The Fort Lauderdale resident told Varsallone that she got into pro wrestling by accident. [Mitch Newton]
01/31/00 Monday Nitro Booker T made his way to the ring, ready for a battle. Halfway down, his music stopped. J Biggs came to the ramp and told Booker that the music was property of Harlem Heat, who now consisted of Stevie Ray and Big T. Biggs then said they had some new music for Booker, proceeding to play a cheesy rock instrumental. As if that wasn't bad enough, Booker was told that the T in his name and the flames on his pants were also property of Harlem Heat. As Biggs continued his tirade, Midnight grabbed him and threw him in to Booker, who laid him out. The New Harlem Heat came in, dropping Booker and Midnight to the ground.[wcw.com]
02/07/00 Monday Nitro Booker made his way to the ring with Midnight, dressed in plain black trunks and boots, as cartoon music played over the sound system. The two men battled out to the ringside floor. The Wall powered the former Harlem Heat member inside, but Booker came back with the Harlem Sidekick. As he went to the top rope, J Biggs called his name from the stage, distracting him and allowing The Wall to score the win. After the match, Biggs had Booker arrested for assault and battery and attempted murder, referring to the attack on Biggs last week. [wcw.com]
02/09/00 Wednesday Thunder Biggs came to the announcing table, stating that Booker would not be appearing as he was still locked up from Monday night. The cartoon music played and Booker made his way to the ring, waving Midnight back to the dressing room. Booker went after Biggs, but was stopped by Stevie, getting the match underway. After the brothers brawled for a few minutes, Booker knocked Biggs to the ground and took a steel chair. Ray came over to save, but was caught with the chair to the head for his troubles.[wcw.com]
02/13/00 Internet Rumor In some rather big news, it looks like Booker T. may have to 'fend himself off solo now. His "sister", Midnight, or Anne Marie Crooks, received her full unconditional release from WCW. It looks like she requested it, and was not given the pink slip. However, on her official website, it does say she will "pursue the interest she received from the WWF, and hopefully, that will become a reality." So, to put it in flat terms, Midnight is no-longer a WCW employee. [Mikey G.]
02/18/00 Internet Rumor WCW female wrestler, and valet for Booker T., Ann Marie Crooks (Midnight), will be meeting with the World Wrestling Federation's Chairman Vince McMahon this coming Monday night in Atlanta, GA. There is no confirmation that she will appear on Monday's episode of "RAW," which is airing live from the Georgia Dome. [Alexi Franklin]
03/27/00 Internet Rumor Anne-Marie Crooks, better known as Midnight to wrestling fans, may soon be returning due to the return of Bisch' and Vince. I'm sure, as we speak, Midnight's extremely happy to hear the news, considering Eric was the one that hired her in the first place, and Russo was the one that pushed her with Booker. [Mikey G.]
03/29/00 Anna Marie's Home Page Welcome friends, and thanks for the continued support. I know many of you have been sending email in regards to my future in professional wrestling. At this time, I still have not signed a deal with any of the top 3 federations. But they have expressed and interest, and I hope to have a new deal in the near future. Currently I am focusing on a career in the entertainment industry. Most of you know that I was formely "Midnight" in the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) Federation. I was granted my release my release after the Thunder taping in Oklahoma City, Ok on February 8, 2000.
It was a mutual agreement that I would be able to pursue other avenues and I am grateful to the WCW for allowing me to exit prior to my contract's end to do just that. I am going to concentrate on getting a new deal with another major federation; and in between I would like to do some personal appearances and possibly some Independent wrestling promotions. [Statement Made On Her Web Site]
10/27/00 Internet News According to the December 2000 issue of Wrestling Superstars magazine, Ann Marie Crooks, formerly Midnight in WCW, is one of the top stars in the Central Wrestling Organization of Colorado. [Silver]
01/12/01 Internet News [Thanks to Ann-Marie Crooks, aka Midnight, for sending this in...] The Jenny Jones show I taped last month with Lodi will be airing on Thursday, January 11th. The show deals primarily with the backyard wrestling phenomenon that is so popular now with adolescents. Lodi was out from segment 1. I didn't come out until Segment 4. The show is definitely worth watching because it has some fantastic feats by these people who do backyard wrestling (no matter what our individual opinions are) as well as seeing how Lodi and I are now looking. Lodi looked fantastic ... in much better shape than his WCW days ... and of course I have a new look as well. I hope the fans will tune it in. [Josh Lee] WebMaster's Note: I hate to admit it but I watch Jenny Jones daily while working on the site and I did not see this show. Maybe it airs on a different date in different sections of the country.
05/18/01 Internet Rumor Nicole Bass has given up the idea of a boxing career. She said it isn't for her. She is scheduled to wrestle Midnight (Ann Marie Crooks) next month in Austin, Texas on June 23rd. Anyone interested in booking Nicole for wrestling, contact her @ MsBigBass@aol.com. [Ryan Clark]
