GROUP SHOTS/PICS

INDIVIDUAL BIOS/PICS

Initially the NITRO GIRLS broke onto the scene of the WCW in 1997 as dancers/entertainers for the restless natives to watch during commercial breaks during Monday Nitro programs.  Kimberly Page was the leader of the group until things heated up after Vince Russo came over to the WCW from the WWF and DDP ended up injured.  As time went on some of the girls (Paisley & Miss Handcock) got small parts that developed into bigger things for themselves but after January 2000 things were pretty much over for the NITRO GIRLS.

11/01/99 Monday Nitro
Well finally it looks like the Nitro girls are going to get some action in the WCW! Since they had previously only danced on the WCW shows we did not provide updates on them but as of Monday night it looks like 'the powers that be" are going to spice up (no pun intended) the groups action level.

Kimberly informed that girls that she had "more important business to take care of right now" than continue with the Nitro Girls and she was leaving them.  As soon as she finished her announcement Spice told the girls that they just needed to "follow my lead" which got her some strange looks from the rest of the group and a visibly upset AC left the room.  As soon as the girls appeared in the ring to entertain the crowd a new feud erupted.  It seems that AC took exception to this and 'accidentally on purpose' hit Spice in the head while they were dancing which caused Spice to attack AC.  Unfortunately the rest of the girls did not see the 'hit' so it appeared to them that Spice attacked AC for no reason. The girls separated the two only temporarily as they restarted the catfight outside the arena after leaving the ring.  AC acted like she had no idea why Spice attacked her which provoked Spice to attack her again.  For pics - Click Here.

The Nitro Girl candidates did a number and then Gene Okerlund told fans they could vote for the Nitro Girl finalist. A.C. Jazz entered the ring and kicked the Nitro Girl hopefuls out. Jazz called the contestants 'skanks' which prompted Spice to come out and confront her squad partner. After harsh words between the two Spice told A. C. to bring it on. When she didn't Spice turned around to leave the ring and A. C. attacked her from behind and the fight was on. It didn't last too long as the rest of the Nitro Girls hurried to the ring and broke the two women up.

The Nitro Girls talked about the A.C. Jazz/Spice feud, with the rest of the girls taking sides evenly for A.C. and Spice. It was announced that the two ladies would square off in a match on Nitro Monday night.

Mike Tenay spoke with Spice, Chae and Storm during which Spice told fans that Jazz refused to fight her that evening and she would now be in control of the Nitro Girls. Tygress took exception to this news and attacked Spice.  The internet rumors fly that Jazz actually quit the Nitro Girls on Sunday.

Spice was dressed as a parochial school girl; Tygress sported a whip and a cat suit.  Spice attempted a dialogue, only to get attacked by Tygress. The girls rolled around on the mat, pulled each other's hair and played dirtier than a bus-full of Ric Flairs. Tygress finally took out Spice with an eye-rake. Enter Sky. The new Nitro Girl came to check on Spice, who was unable to continue the fight, but then decked Spice with a makeup bag. Post-match, the girls painted Spice's face with the scattered makeup. Chavo tried to sell Tygress some make-up while Spice interrupted the deal and threw Tygress into the shower, while back in catering Fyre and Storm had a food fight further continuing the fragmentation of The Nitro Girls. Later in the evening Chavo who has begun a new career as a interviewer asked Sky why she helped attack Spice. Chae rushed in and straddled Sky into submission.

Madusa caught Evan flirting with Spice backstage and attempted to attack the Nitro Girl, but Evan and several officials broke the two up. An angry Madusa decided she would wrestle Spice during an interview with Mean Gene.

Madusa dominated the former Nitro Girl until Karagias came into the ring. Karagias prompted Madusa to let go of Spice. While they were discussing things over Spice attacked Madusa from behind for the pin. After the bout was finished Madusa treated Evan to a German Suplex with a bridge.

Later in the evening 3 of the Nitro Girls danced in the ring until Rhonda Singh arrived. The big girl shook it for all she was worth while the fans hooted and hollered. In the process she manages to knock down the three women. Tygress, Fyre and Skye attacked Singh at the end of the song.

The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea with Paisley vs. Evan Karagias with Spice - Non-title Match

Karagias came to the ring with his newest squeeze, Spice of the Nitro Girls. Karagias delivered a springboard bodypress from the middle of the top rope, only getting a two-count.  Madusa came to ringside, pushed Spice, but than when after Paisley as Evan was, uh, talking to her. As all three girls got in the ring, Karagias tried to break up the ruckus. As he was distracted, Prince came up from behind with a sunset flip, pinning the Cruiserweight Champion in this non-title match. Karagias tried to calm Madusa down but was treated to a slap in the face instead. Spice left the ring, consoling Evan. [wcw.com]

12/19/99 Starrcade PPV Cruiserweight Title Match - Madusa d. Evan Karagias with Spice

Evan found himself a new love but Madusa wasn't taking it lightly. Hopping through the ropes, she leveled Evan before the bell even rang. In the ring, a slap turned to a punch in the face by Mr. Cute Guy to his ex. Not holding back, Karagias went after Madusa with all he had.  But let's not forget Madusa's extraordinary talents in the ring. Dishing out some revenge and punishment of her own, Madusa laid out Karagias until Spice distracted the Hormone King.  Madusa then came up behind him and slapped him, Spice low-blowed him, and Madusa took the match with a backside pinfall to become the new Cruiserweight Champion, making Evan is a two time loser.  Woman power prevailed in this match up. Madusa the first woman Cruiserweight Champ took it to Buzzkill and, when the tides turned and Buzzkill was close to scoring a pinfall, Spice conveniently distracted the ref. Madusa used a foreign object, supplied by Spice, to level Buzzkill for the win. [wcw.com]

01/07/00 - Internet Rumors
Three new fitness women were hired to be apart of the New Nitro Girl group. The women have appeared backstage at recent TV tapings and have already made bad impressions with several wrestlers. Also, former & current Nitro Girl members are causing problems. Fyre, Storm (Paisley), and Chae have all caused recent disturbances according to Keller. Namely Chae who has been complaining about her lack of camera time and feels that she is the best looking of the Nitro Girls and should be pushed in a glamorous type role along side her real life boyfriend Kevin Nash. [Michael Payton]

In some Nitro Girl news, it looks like Storm has just earned herself a bad reputation backstage. Reports are a little weak at this time, but it looks like she's grown a huge ego in recent weeks, and wrestlers, and other WCW employee's are finding her to be one tough person to hang around with. WHERE ARE THE NITRO GIRLS ERIC/VINCE????

12/29/00 Internet Rumors
There are rumors swirling around WCW that the Nitro Girls and WCW Magazine will be the next budget cuts of the promotion. Various Nitro Girls believe that their days are numbered, and they've started to explore their options outside of pro wrestling. For over a year now, the dance team has been performing during the commercial breaks at TV tapings, but they rarely appear on actual telecasts; therefore, many within the promotion believe WCW purposely phased the group out so the cuts would go unnoticed by most viewers, although they haven't been on TV a lot longer than the time WCW even started making and considering the earliest budget cuts. [George Epstein]

Some newsletter is reporting that World Championship Wrestling is going to cut the Nitro Girls. That rumor is totally false. World Championship Wrestling doesn’t plan on cutting them anytime soon because WCW likes using them to pump up the crowd during commercial breaks. So there is no reason WCW would drop the Nitro Girls. [Nathan Mayers]

In an update on the story broken awhile ago about former Nitro Girls forming a Spice Girl rip-off group, they are now singing and calling themselves Diversity5. The members of this group are Fyre, Spice, Paisley, Tygress, and Chae. They have their own official website and included in the content are audio clips of their songs. [Nathan Mayers]

02/09/01 Internet News
For your viewing pleasure, WCW.COM updated the Nitrogirls.com website with new pictures of Chiquita and Naughty-A. Now that WCW has released many of their top females, it is expected that they will pay extra close attention to the Nitro Girls, and try to push them. Along with new pictures there are exclusive videos of each Nitro Girl. [Jason Hamil]

Tygress isn't bitter about the release from WCW and there is a possibility she may be brought back later on. She understands the position WCW is in since they were just bought out and business is business.

She stated that since the 5 former Nitro Girls that make up the group (Diversity 5) all had a very good chemistry together, they wanted to maintain something together and decided to try starting a pop group. The group is mostly pop/rock but they don't want to set up any boundaries and they try to venture into different styles, but it is all stuff you can dance to.

They have a two track CD available at their website Diversity5.com right now and they plan on releasing a full CD sometimes this fall.

Fyre is handling most of the business aspects of the group at the present time.

All the members are still open to offers from other wrestling companies. [Aaron Dias]
