| Initially the NITRO GIRLS broke onto the scene of the WCW in 1997 as dancers/entertainers for the restless natives to watch during commercial breaks during Monday Nitro programs. Kimberly Page was the leader of the group until things heated up after Vince Russo came over to the WCW from the WWF and DDP ended up injured. As time went on some of the girls (Paisley & Miss Handcock) got small parts that developed into bigger things for themselves but after January 2000 things were pretty much over for the NITRO GIRLS. | ![]() |

09/06/99 Monday Nitro 09/13/99 Monday Nitro 11/01/99 Monday Nitro Kimberly informed that girls that she had "more important business to take care of right now" than continue with the Nitro Girls and she was leaving them. As soon as she finished her announcement Spice told the girls that they just needed to "follow my lead" which got her some strange looks from the rest of the group and a visibly upset AC left the room. As soon as the girls appeared in the ring to entertain the crowd a new feud erupted. It seems that AC took exception to this and 'accidentally on purpose' hit Spice in the head while they were dancing which caused Spice to attack AC. Unfortunately the rest of the girls did not see the 'hit' so it appeared to them that Spice attacked AC for no reason. The girls separated the two only temporarily as they restarted the catfight outside the arena after leaving the ring. AC acted like she had no idea why Spice attacked her which provoked Spice to attack her again. The big girl shook it for all she was worth while the fans hooted and hollered. In the process she manages to knock down the three women. Tygress, Fyre and Skye attacked Singh at the end of the song. 12/16/99 Thursday Thunder Karagias came to the ring with his newest squeeze, Spice of the Nitro Girls. Karagias delivered a springboard bodypress from the middle of the top rope, only getting a two-count. Madusa came to ringside, pushed Spice, but than when after Paisley as Evan was, uh, talking to her. As all three girls got in the ring, Karagias tried to break up the ruckus. As he was distracted, Prince came up from behind with a sunset flip, pinning the Cruiserweight Champion in this non-title match. Karagias tried to calm Madusa down but was treated to a slap in the face instead. Spice left the ring, consoling Evan. [wcw.com] 12/19/99 Starrcade PPV Cruiserweight Title Match - Madusa d. Evan Karagias with Spice Evan found himself a new love but Madusa wasn't taking it lightly. Hopping through the ropes, she leveled Evan before the bell even rang. In the ring, a slap turned to a punch in the face by Mr. Cute Guy to his ex. Not holding back, Karagias went after Madusa with all he had. But let's not forget Madusa's extraordinary talents in the ring. Dishing out some revenge and punishment of her own, Madusa laid out Karagias until Spice distracted the Hormone King. Madusa then came up behind him and slapped him, Spice low-blowed him, and Madusa took the match with a backside pinfall to become the new Cruiserweight Champion, making Evan is a two time loser. Woman power prevailed in this match up. [wcw.com] 12/20/99 Monday Nitro 01/07/00 - Internet Rumors In some Nitro Girl news, it looks like Storm has just earned herself a bad reputation backstage. Reports are a little weak at this time, but it looks like she's grown a huge ego in recent weeks, and wrestlers, and other WCW employee's are finding her to be one tough person to hang around with. [Mikey G.] 04/21/00 12/29/00 Internet Rumors Some newsletter is reporting that World Championship Wrestling is going to cut the Nitro Girls. That rumor is totally false. World Championship Wrestling doesn’t plan on cutting them anytime soon because WCW likes using them to pump up the crowd during commercial breaks. So there is no reason WCW would drop the Nitro Girls. [Nathan Mayers] 02/02/01 Internet Rumor In an update on the story broken awhile ago about former Nitro Girls forming a Spice Girl rip-off group, they are now singing and calling themselves Diversity5. The members of this group are Fyre, Spice, Paisley, Tygress, and Chae. They have their own official website and included in the content are audio clips of their songs. [Nathan Mayers] 02/09/01 Internet News Tygress isn't bitter about the release from WCW and there is a possibility she may be brought back later on. She understands the position WCW is in since they were just bought out and business is business. She stated that since the 5 former Nitro Girls that make up the group (Diversity 5) all had a very good chemistry together, they wanted to maintain something together and decided to try starting a pop group. The group is mostly pop/rock but they don't want to set up any boundaries and they try to venture into different styles, but it is all stuff you can dance to. They have a two track CD available at their website Diversity5.com right now and they plan on releasing a full CD sometimes this fall. Fyre is handling most of the business aspects of the group at the present time. All the members are still open to offers from other wrestling companies. [Aaron Dias] 07/20/01 Internet Rumor |
