Eight must be a lucky number for Lena. She made the final eight in the WWE Diva Search, and the 28-year-old Honolulu, Hawaii, native is ranked No. 8 in the world in professional tandem surfing.

When not practicing on the Pacific waves, the WWE Diva hopeful has starred in commercials for Sprite and Bud Light, and is the former Miss Hawaiian Tropic Japan. She also had a role in the recent Adam Sandler-Kevin James movie, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.

Lena is eager to take on the challenges the WWE Diva Search might throw her way. “I’ve tried kiteboarding, rifle shooting and archery,” she says. “I like to try everything at least once. But I can be a sore loser.”

Despite her hectic schedule, this self-proclaimed “Asian sensation” knows how to enjoy her downtime and let loose, no matter her location. “I’m not the kind of girl that always has to be done up with makeup, dress up, or go to the best places,” Lena explains. “Sometimes I just want a beer and a pizza on a giant sofa. The end.”

When looking for a date, Lena looks … upward? “He doesn’t have to be the best looking guy in the room, but he has to be tall,” she reveals. “He has to be comfortable in different situations and must be willing to try new things.”

“I think the perfect date is when you are comfortable throughout the whole date, even the silences,” Lena adds. “And at the end, you can’t wait to see him again.” WWE.com

10/22/07 Monday Night Raw - Sixth Round Elimination
We said goodbye to Lena, the latest contestant eliminated from the 2007 WWE Diva Search. Lena was shocked when Raw’s Todd Grisham said she wasn’t in the final two.

“No! I want a recount! No way!” Lena exclaimed to the Omaha crowd.

Now, just two finalists remain – Brooke Gilbertsen and Eve Torres. Next Monday on Raw, one woman’s dreams will come true as she becomes the next WWE Diva. Will it be Brooke or Eve? Each one had 30 seconds to tell our fans why she should be voted the next WWE Diva.

“Thanks for keeping me in here, you guys are amazing. I’m here. I want to be a part of the WWE family. I want to be a good girl who gets down and dirty in the ring for you guys – you, the fans – it’s all about you!” Brooke cheered to our fans.

“Keep voting Brooke. I’m going to show you what I’m all about and give you everything. I won’t let you down!” she said.

Then, Eve took the microphone for her 30 seconds to convince our fans she should be the next WWE Diva.

“First of all, I want to say that the fans of the WWE are the best fans in the world! Thank you for bringing me here today. I am here because of you, and I am here for you, and I want to be your next WWE Diva,” Eve told the Omaha crowd.

“Let me tell you, I am the only one who has the physical ability, the sex appeal, the mental, and I want to entertain you,” Eve said with a swivel of the hips. “Let me hear you, WWE!” WWE.com

11/12/07 Internet News - WWE Signs 2007 Search Finalist To Contract; Expected To Start In ECW
WWE has signed 2007 Diva Search contestant Lena Yada to a contract. They offered her a deal at the Raw at the Staples Center this past Monday, which she accepted. She is set to be the new backstage interviewer on ECW. Yada revealed all this in a bulletin she sent out on her MySpace page (myspace.com/lenayada).

WWE originally wanted her to start training in Tampa, FL at the FCW developmental territory but Lena had to turn the offer down because her father is on his last stretch of an incurable fatal lung disease. Regarding this, Yada wrote: "I moved my father in with me 2 months ago. He is in his last stretch of an incurable fatal lung disease. I am taking care of him until a pair of lungs become available for a double lung transplant. Until then, he is on 24 hour oxygen. While I would be able to leave for short periods of time, I couldn't possibly spend 6-8 months away nor provide the financial support for a caretaker, rent, medical bills, and such. Sometimes we have to make sacrifices for what's more important. I could never forgive myself if something were to happen to him if I were away. So, with a heavy heart I declined their offer. My family is more important."

After she turned down their first offer, WWE came back to her the next day with a different offer, that being the new backstage interviewer on ECW. Lena is expected to make the trip down to Tampa to begin training in the ring. She is currently training at a local gym learning how to take some simple bumps and such. The deals are being finalized now, but look for her to make her ECW debut within the next month. Yada finished in third place in the 2007 Diva Search competition. Rajah.com
