Having made sure that Mick Foley was fired from the WWF a few weeks before, Stephanie and Triple H had to reinstate him after The Rock started this week's show off by telling them that the entire roster was prepared to leave the company and join the WRF - World Rock Federation - if they did not reinstate Mick Foley. Seeing the whole stable of wrestler's standing at ringside with The Rock Triple H and Stephanie quickly discussed the matter and obliged.

01/23/00 Royal Rumble PPV
Escorting Triple H to ringside and returning backstage, Stephanie did not return until almost the end of the deadly street fight match between Cactus Jack and her beloved husband. With Cactus Jack bringing out everything from a 2-by-4 wrapped in barb wire to a thousand thumb tacks, Triple H won the match, but barely.

01/27/00 Thursday Smackdown
Cactus Jack made his way to the ring to discuss the Royal Rumble. After saying that he and Triple H put on one of the greatest matches in recent memory, Cactus said the difference between the two of them last Sunday was that after the match Triple H looked like he had "survived a war," whereas Cactus looked like he was having a good time! Wanting to give Baltimore a good time, Cactus Jack called out the champ to get it on again – and Triple H’s music hit! But it was Stephanie who came walking out.

After the two traded insults, Stephanie slapped Cactus right across the face! Saying he had to fight the urge not to hit her back, Cactus asked her to play "Slap me again and find out what happens." Wisely, Stephanie left before she could take the chance. [wwf.com]

02/20/00 Internet Rumors
Chyna has grown uncomfortable with the continuing Stephanie McMahon - Hunter Hearst Helmsley storyline. Chyna, who is the real-life girlfriend of Triple H and has been for years, was reportedly a bit miffed when Triple H and Stephanie stayed in character during the opening of WWF New York a few weeks ago and spent the entire night there together. More on this story as it develops. [Joe Starson]

WrestleTalk America reported last Saturday Night that Chyna and HHH are definitely not very comfortable with each other as of right now. The reason for this is that Chyna is upset with the kissing and sexual actions that are going on between Stephanie and HHH. She understands it's an angle, but she is still upset. Look for the angle to come to an end soon, maybe even before the original end, which is at WrestleMania. [Xing Wang]

02/28/00 Monday Night Raw
Triple H and Stephanie came to ringside to start the show. A somber Triple H told the capacity crowd in New York that he has now learned to respect Mick Foley, especially after the Hell in a Cell Match at No Way Out. As a sign of respect for Foley, Triple H put together a tribute package, which aired on the TitanTron. Just when everybody in attendance thought Triple H had a heart, the tribute package turned into a typical DX package - poking fun at the now retired Mick Foley. Soon thereafter, the Game and Stephanie hugged in celebration. However, not long into their celebration Shane McMahon and Big Show hit the ring to interrupt. Shane explained that he was not going to sit by while his sister ran the Federation, which is why he has aligned himself with Big Show. [wwf.com]

03/06/00 Monday Night Raw
RAW IS WAR kicked off live from Springfield, Mass. with Shane McMahon and Big Show speaking to the crowd about last Thursday's SmackDown! Shane expressed distaste for Triple H hitting him with a chair. He then accused the Game of brainwashing his sister, and blamed him for her slut-like appearance and actions. Triple H and Stephanie quickly came to ringside to rebut Shane's comments. An upset Stephanie booked Big Show in the first match of the evening against Kane. She then turned and slapped her brother, Shane. [wwf.com]

03/10/00 RAW Magazine
In the March 2000 issue of RAW magazine there is a full depth article on Linda McMahon in which she is asked "What do the McMahon's talk about over the dinner table?"  Her answer - Stephanie's shocking behavior. "She appears to be consumed with power.  As this magazine goes to press, I'm not quite sure what to make of her behavior.  It is so antithetical to what I have always believed to be our daughter's character."

03/13/00 Monday Night Raw
Look out Stephanie - DADDY'S BACK!!!!

In the final match of the evening, The Rock put his career on the line for a shot at the main event at WrestleMania as he tangled with the Big Show. Before the match got underway, Shane McMahon came out and ordered referee Earl Hebner back to the locker room; Shane named himself the special referee. When Shane was inadvertently knocked out of the ring, The Rock delivered a spinebuster and a People's Elbow, but there was no referee. Hebner ran from the back, but Shane pulled him out of the ring and pummeled him. Shane climbed back in the ring and clobbered The Rock with a steel chair - just as he had at No Way Out - and The Rock's chances appeared to be doomed. All of a sudden a limousine pulled up in the backstage area and Vince McMahon jumped out! Seeing Vince arrive on the monitor, Triple H went after him, but Vince laid him out with a right hand to the chin! Then Vince went out to the ring and did the same thing to his son! Vince followed up by nailing Shane with a chair, and then he stripped the referee shirt off Shane's back and put it on himself. The Rock delivered the Rock Bottom, pinned the Show, and new referee Vince administered the three count! [wwf.com]

03/16/00 Thursday Smackdown
In a match ordered by Vince McMahon, the Godfather took on Triple H in a non-title match. The match got started after the Godfather said that Stephanie could be on the Ho Train -- but she'd make up the caboose. Midway through the match, Shane and the Big Show appeared. While the referee tried to separate Shane and Stephanie, Triple H and the Big Show tangled outside the ring. The Show picked up the "Game" and rammed his spine into the steel ringpost. The Godfather quickly pinned Triple H and scored a huge upset victory. [wwf.com]

03/23/00 Thursday Smackdown
After promising an announcement that would "knock the WWF off its foundation" earlier in the night, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley appeared. She invited her mother Linda to join her in the ring. Then Stephanie told us about the "struggles" she had to go through as a youngster - how her mom made her make her own bed, instead of having the maid do it; how Linda limited her to $100 a week in junior high school; how when she turned 16 Linda only got her the "regular" sports car, instead of the turbo model. Stephanie then revealed that when Linda didn't give her enough money during college, she'd "use her assets" to get more from the company CFO. If that wasn't shocking enough, Stephanie then said she agreed with Triple H - that Linda is a conniving b*tch! To add injury to insult, Stephanie slapped her mother across the face, knocking Linda off her foundation! Stephanie retreated up the ramp as Triple H appeared from the back, and the married couple embraced as a morose Linda looked on from the ring. [wwf.com] For Pics - Click Here.

03/27/00 Monday Night Raw
At the top of the show, Linda McMahon addressed the crowd. She apologized to the fans for the ugly family affair that has been played out in front of the TV cameras. Linda then demanded that Stephanie come out and apologize for her actions. It was then that Vince McMahon came to ringside and voiced his concerns for Linda's safety at WrestleMania. After Vince made his concerns known, he too demanded that Stephanie apologize.

Stephanie quickly made her way from the back and actually apologized to her mother. She said that she didn't want to slap her. She wanted to slap her father instead. Vince then threatened to slap her fanny until it turned blue. Luckily for Stephanie, Triple H's presence kept Vince from coming through on his threat.

03/30/00 Thursday Smackdown
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley came out and read a letter from one of her fans (yes, Stephanie has a few fans).  Vince came out and said that listening to Stephanie gave him a headache. Linda appeared as well as said she couldn't stand to see her family degenerate into what it has become. She demanded that Vince stand up as the patriarch of the family and fix things. Vince came up with an idea to fix things right away; he ordered Stephanie into her very first wrestling match against the Women's Champion, Jacqueline.

In the final match of the night, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley challenged for the Women's Championship in her in-ring debut as she took on Jacqueline. Stephanie was accompanied by Triple H, and before the match got underway, the other members of DX came out as well.  Stephanie stood on the ring apron and refused to enter the ring. Triple H distracted referee Earl Hebner. Meanwhile, X-Pac tripped Jacqueline from behind, and then Tori entered the ring and delivered a DDT to the champion. Stephanie didn't know what to do - Triple H had to yell at her to make the cover. Stephanie finally went for the pin and got the 1-2-3 to become the new Federation Women's Champion! DX lifted Stephanie up on their shoulders in celebration, but the party was short lived. Kane made his way out, followed by several other superstars - and within seconds, practically the entire roster was in the ring battling one another. [wwf.com] For Pics - Click Here.

04/02/00 Wrestlemania XVI PPV
After the 4-way title match, Stephanie and Vince embraced, and Shane and Vince appeared to be reconciling as well. Suddenly, an irate Rock returned to the ring and dropped both Shane and Vince with a Rock Bottom. The Rock glared at Stephanie, who got up and got in his face - and slapped the "Great One." Stephanie had crossed the line, and The Rock gave her a Rock Bottom as well! The Rock followed up by knocking Triple H off the ring apron and then giving Stephanie a People's Elbow. WrestleMania came to an end with three McMahon's knocked out. [wwf.com]

04/13/00 Thursday Smackdown
Caryn Mower finally made her official debut appearance as the character Muffy. Stephanie and Caryn Mower came out to the ring where Stephanie announced "your nothing but fat lazy cellulite people and you make us sick." She continued by saying "So I'm going to do a public service. I would like to introduce to you my personal trainer, and now yours... Muffy!" At which point Muffy proceeded to try and get the audience to join her doing jumping jacks.

04/17/00 Monday Night Raw
The World Wrestling Federation Championship was on the line when Chris Jericho challenged Triple H for the title. Prior to the match, Y2J took over where he left off last week, making fun of Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. Also before the match got under way, Jericho told Triple H that the Acolytes would be in his corner. In Triple H's corner was his wife and her brother, Shane. The champ's focus seemed to be elsewhere in the early going, as Jericho assaulted Triple H - several times nearly walking away with the Championship. Finally when it appeared as though Jericho would have Hunter's number, the assigned referee was knocked out. Senior referee Earl Hebner then came down and finished the officiating duties. When it was all said and done, Chris Jericho defeated Triple H and captured the World Wrestling Federation Championship after hitting him with a moonsault.

After the commercial break, Triple H, Stephanie and Shane physically brought Earl Hebner into the ring. Triple H also brought in the originally assigned referee, Mike Chiota. Triple H then asked for Chiota's professional opinion. Chiota responded, saying that Hebner screwed Triple H. Hebner then said that he would reverse the decision if Triple H promised never to lay another hand on him as long as he was a WWF referee. As soon as Triple H was given the Championship back, Hebner learned that he was fired. Shane and Triple H then proceeded kicking his ass.

Later in the evening Linda McMahon came to the ring to make an announcement.  Linda stated that she was sick and tired of what was going on in the World Wrestling Federation. She then stated that she noticed The Rock probably had no chance against Triple H at Backlash, especially after what happened to Y2J earlier in the evening. Linda noticed that the odds were stacked against The Rock so she announced that Stone Cold Steve Austin would be in The Rock's corner at Backlash. Stephanie then came to the ring and told her mother that she would give her one chance to change her mind. Linda declined. She then slapped her daughter in self defense. A shocked Stephanie then ordered her husband to get Linda. Triple H then attempted to Pedigree Linda. All hell then broke loose when Shane attacked Triple H, stopping the Champion's attack on his mother. Not quite sure what was going on, Stephanie then slapped both Triple H and Shane. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley and Tori verbally undressed the Dudley Boyz, telling them it’s pretty pathetic that they had to pick on women to make themselves feel strong, before adding she and Tori are two girls they don’t mess with. D-Von warned Buh Buh Ray the repercussions of attacking Stephanie. Buh Buh’s response was a sadistic smile. [wwf.com]

05/11/00 Thursday Smackdown
The main event was a six-man elimination tag team match. Scotty Too Hotty was the first to go, eliminated by X-Pac's X-Factor. Grandmaster Sexay was put away moments later with a Triple H Pedigree, leaving Rikishi to face three members of DX. Rikishi backed his butt up into all three men - and the referee. An X-Pac low blow finally swung the advantage to DX. X-Pac hit his bronco buster and had things in control until the Dudley's 3-Ded both the Road Dogg and X-Pac. Rikishi sat on both men and pinned them, leaving him one-on-one against "The Game." Triple H knocked Rikishi down to the apron, leaving him open for Patterson to rub his underwear in his face, or a Patterson put it, "Skid Row." But Rikishi dragged Patterson in the ring and stuffed Patterson's drawers in Triple H's mouth! Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley came to the aid of her husband, but she would be cornered and in position for a "stinky face." After giving Patterson that very maneuver, Rikishi made an unconscious Stephanie his next target. But a Triple H low blow and Pedigree ended the match and gave DX the win. Stephanie regained consciousness, shaken up, but relieved and in the arms of her husband. [wwf.com]

Always with something to say, the McMahon-Helmsley regime set the table for the evening – no pun intended. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley spit her wrath toward Chris Jericho, making a match pairing Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit and Hardcore Holly against Y2J and a partner of his choice.  [wwf.com]

06/05/00 Monday Night Raw
World Wrestling Federation Champion Triple H and his bride, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, entered the ring as RAW kicked off. The Game proclaimed that he didn't mind the three top contenders, since competition turns him on. What turns him off, though, is big egos. He proclaimed that Mr. McMahon had the biggest ego of them all, which brought the chairman out to the ring.

Vince told Triple H had done two smart things -- one, enter the World Wrestling Federation, and two, marry the boss' daughter. Mr. McMahon then proclaimed, "I made you, and I can break you." Triple H then took Vince on a walk down memory lane, specifically back to the Armageddon Pay-Per-View, when the Game defeated Mr. McMahon one-on-one. As Triple H spoke, Vince again attempted to grab the microphone, but the Game this time shoved his father-in-law away. The two looked like they were about to scuffle until Shane ran out to separate the two.

But Shane had other ideas. The "Giant Killer" wanted to take both men on, and when Vince and Triple H knocked Shane to the ground, Stephanie saw that things had gone too far, and she slapped all three men.

Later in the evening Michael Cole interviewed the Game and Stephanie before his title defense.  Cole questioned Stephanie as to whether or not she would ever defend the Women's Championship in March, and she said yes! As Ivory and Jacqueline made their case for title shots, Stephanie agreed to put the title up for grabs -- against whoever could win a battle royal on SmackDown! [wwf.com]

06/08/00 Thursday Smackdown
Coach interviewed Stephanie, the World Wrestling Federation Women's Champion, about the battle royal to determine a No. 1 contender. Stephanie said that the battle royal was open invitation - and then barged into the women's locker room to see who would answer the challenge, much to the surprise of the shocked (and half-dressed) ladies.

Stephanie and Tori made their way to the ring for the battle royal, with Tori dressed in a black-and-white striped shirt. It was announced that she would be the referee for the contest! Five participants took part in the battle royal - The Kat, Terri, Lita, Ivory and Jacqueline. Terri and The Kat fought in one part of the ring as the other three divas battled in the other. After Terri eliminated The Kat, Lita quickly eliminated Terri, and then Jacqueline with a powerful hurricanrana. Finally, after a stunning top-rope moonsault, Lita pinned Ivory to earn a title shot. She pointed at Stephanie, who was doing color commentary - only to be attacked by Tori! Tori abused Lita, and when Stephanie had the timekeeper ring the bell, Lita was easy prey for the Women's Champion, who pinned her 1-2-3 for a successful
title defense!  After the match, Kevin Kelly interviewed Lita, who demanded a re-match.

06/12/00 Monday Night Raw
Linda told her daughter that she would defend the Federation Women's Championship against Lita - and if any member of the Faction were to interfere, Stephanie would forfeit the belt to Lita!

In the DX locker room, Stephanie asked Triple H what she was going to do in her title defense. Triple H said he just didn't know. Her match was up next, and Lita was fired up.  After being tossed around the ring and being knocked to the floor, Stephanie feigned a knee injury which drew the referee's attention. With the ref occupied, Kurt Angle made his way to the ring and delivered an Olympic Slam to Lita, which allowed Stephanie to get back in the ring and score the pinfall. Stephanie and Angle celebrated after the match, even hugging three times as Triple H watched on.  [wwf.com] For Pics - Click Here.

Triple H's mystery title defense brought a scowl to the Game's face, and his opponent was none other than Chris Jericho! Jericho seemed to have the match won with a Lionsault, but Stephanie distracted the referee. After the ref was knocked out, Jericho actually locked Stephanie in the Walls of Jericho, but Triple H nailed Y2J with the belt. After a Pedigree, Triple H had won.  [wwf.com]

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley provided color commentary as Chris Jericho took on his surprise opponent, Bull Buchanan.  Jericho showed little regard for the Game's wife, spitting water in her face! But Stephanie would have the last laugh, throwing a whole pitcher of water in Jericho's face, distracting him for a moment and allowing Bull to pull out a win. After the match, Triple H attacked Jericho and gave him the Pedigree. [wwf.com]

06/16/00 Internet Rumor
Kurt Angle will NOT be receiving a World title shot anytime soon, contrary to reports. The deal with him and Stephanie is just a way of starting up HHH's face turn, which is reported to happen during the summer. The plan is to just have Angle and Stephanie flirt to spark up reaction from HHH against a well over heel, which will allow him a good opportunity to do face things, receiving face reactions, because let's face it, Angle is HATED, even HHH would get a reaction out of him. Kurt Angle isn't scheduled to be paired with Stephanie...yet. WWF officials still feel he has a lot to learn before making the ever so big step to main event stardom. [Jonny Farrer]

06/22/00 Thursday Smackdown
Kurt Angle was walking backstage and reading the new WWF Magazine when he happened to bump into Stephanie. 06/25/00 King Of The Ring PPV - King of the Ring Tournament Quarterfinals - Kurt Angle def. Chris Jericho
Angle and Jericho had several near falls, and it appeared Jericho had the match won after getting Angle in the Walls of Jericho. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley ran down to the ring, distracting the official just as Angle started tapping out. Jericho released the hold to confront Stephanie and the official, and Angle gave him a shot to the back of the head, sending him flying into referee Teddy Long. With Long out cold, Stephanie entered the ring with her Women's Championship and aimed squarely at the head of Jericho. But Y2J ducked and Stephanie hit her good friend Angle instead! With Angle down, Jericho turned his attention to Stephanie. He grabbed her ... and kissed her! Stephanie was totally grossed out, but she succeeded in distracting Jericho. Angle sneaked behind and dropped Jericho with the Olympic slam. The referee recovered and counted to three, and Angle advanced to face Crash Holly in the semifinals!

In the ring, Y2J and X-Pac fought all over the ring in a very high-paced match-up. As X-Pac was about to deliver a Bronco Buster, Jericho slipped out of the ring and went after Stephanie. But the Road Dogg ran out to stop Y2J from approaching her! Back in the ring, Jericho took advantage, but X-Pac got the win after Stephanie distracted the referee. ----- As of late Stephanie McMahon has been the women's champion. Well as I'm sure you can tell, she is no wrestler. WWF Officials are going to be putting a stop to it this week. They are going to try and start women's competition up once again and have some new women added as well. As I am sure most of you heard about the two new women Diane and Elaine Klimaszewski, they are possibly going to be playing the Godfather's Ho's. [Jeff Sciullo]

07/06/00 Thursday Smackdown
The American Hero, Kurt Angle, made his way to the ring as SmackDown! kicked off from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Angle had a few apologies for the people of Florida, and also for bothering the Undertaker on Monday's RAW. His opponent, Chris Jericho, soon came out with a few apologies of his own - to the Jerichoholics who had to hear Angle's "boring promo," to Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley for being a "trash bag ho," and to Triple H for putting him through a table on last week's SmackDown!

Stephanie came to ringside as the match began. The rematch from King of the Ring was a solid bout, and Stephanie seemed to be an unbiased observer at first.  But when Jericho tried to put Angle in the Walls of Jericho, Stephanie used Angle's scepter to deliver a low blow on Y2J. Jericho was then easy prey for an Olympic Slam, sealing the win for the American Hero.

Later that evening, Stephanie smiled in triumph as Triple H pulled into the arena in a limo. As he got out of the car, Stephanie bragged about screwing over Chris Jericho and helping Kurt Angle. The fact that Stephanie helped Angle bothered the Game, who then left his wife behind to go to Mick Foley's office. [wwf.com]

07/10/00 Monday Night Raw
Stephanie found Triple H in the men's room, and it appeared that the Game was still upset about Road Dogg losing to Y2J earlier in the evening. Stephanie told him that it was OK and that they'd make it right. Triple H just looked up at her smiling, and he told her he had a foolproof plan.

Stephanie went to the ring with a proposition for Chris Jericho. She asked him to come to the ring so they could make up. She also said she had a secret - that she liked Jericho's kiss at King of the Ring. Jericho appeared on the TitanTron, saying that his dreams were coming true and that he was on his way out! When his music hit, DX was waiting at the entrance for him, but Jericho was nowhere to be found! Then Y2J appeared on the TitanTron again, saying the ambush was a lame attempt to get him. He told Triple H that he might still be the Game, but Jericho was now the Hunter!

Kurt Angle was a nervous wreck prior to his match with Kane, and when he saw Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley in the hallway, he said he needed a hug. As he hugged her, Triple H emerged from a nearby locker room and saw what was going on. Angle quickly scampered away, and when Triple H asked his wife what had happened, she said that Angle had forced himself on her. An enraged Triple H then attacked Angle during his match with Kane, throwing him into the ring steps and leaving him easy prey for a chokeslam win by the Big Red Machine. [wwf.com]

07/21/00 Internet Rumor
Believe it or not, Stephanie McMahon isn't expected to drop the WWF Women's Title anytime soon. The WWF is comfortable with Stephanie having it because it adds more to her heel character. There are several women in the WWF now worthy of getting a shot, such as Lita and Trish, but the WWF wants to have those two feud. Stephanie really doesn't have an opponent anyway. There is also a strong possibility that Mick Foley will strip Stephanie of the title, but that is not confirmed. [Chris Goldsmith]

In the McMahon-Helmsley locker room, several bouquets of flowers were delivered to Stephanie. Triple H grabbed a card from one of the bouquets -- and it was signed by Kurt Angle. Stephanie said she had no idea why Kurt would send her flowers.  Stephanie told her husband that she had enough, and if Triple H really wanted to know if Kurt Angle sent her flowers, HHH should go ask him. Triple H said he'd do just that.

Triple H grabbed the flower delivery man and demanded that he take him to the locker room of the man who was sending Stephanie all those flowers. Triple H stormed into the locker room saying "Kurt Angle is about to get his ass kicked." But when the locker room door opened again, Chris Jericho walked out, and Triple H was lying on his back!  [wwf.com]

The match itself between the two was one of the best in months!  Stephanie even got involved and slapped Jericho across the face twice while Triple H held him.  Later in the match Jericho got the opportunity to put Stephanie in the Walls Of Jericho (much to the fans delight) but Hunter quickly saved her before Y2J could do much damage.  Eventually Triple H won the match but not before Y2J delivered enough punishment to the man that he will never, ever forget.

07/24/00 Monday Night Raw
Backstage, Triple H arrived, and Stephanie brought him up to speed on all the events that led to Foley's booking of the "brother/sister" match. As if that didn't anger Triple H enough, there were several bouquets of flowers on the table, just as there had been at Fully Loaded. Stephanie told her husband to read the card, but Triple H said he didn't need to read any card to realize he was being set up, and he tossed the flowers against the walls in disgust. A shocked Stephanie said she had purchased the flowers for him!

Stephanie didn't have much time to react, as the "brother/sister" match was up next. Lita came out as the first of the McMahon siblings' opponents. Shane grabbed the microphone and said he would protect his baby sister at all costs -- no matter who the other opponent was. It turned out to be the Big Show! The Show returned two months after Shane had put him out of action; Shane was completely astonished, and he sprinted back to the locker room. The Show chased after him, leaving Stephanie alone with Lita. Stephanie took quite a beating, and Lita had her set up for a moonsault. But Trish Stratus came out, knocked Lita off the top rope, and whipped her repeatedly with a belt. Stephanie got in a few kicks for good measure, and the two women walked off together.  [wwf.com]

07/27/00 Thursday Smackdown
Backstage, Stephanie and Triple H entered their locker room to find more roses. It turned out that they were from Triple H to his wife, and the couple embraced.

Back in their locker room, Triple H complained to Stephanie about having Trish as a partner, saying that none of the women in the Federation could wrestle.  Stephanie snapped at him, saying that she had been around wrestling her whole life. Mrs. Game then barged out of the locker room as Triple H tried to apologize.

Later on backstage, Trish asked Triple H to teach her some wrestling moves. As he was showing her the proper way to counter a hammerlock, Stephanie entered the dressing room to find her husband and Trish in a compromising position! Unaware that the Game was simply giving a wrestling lesson, Stephanie went ballistic and again barged out of the dressing room. Triple H blamed Trish for the trouble, and then grabbed his things and left the arena. “To hell with Foley, to hell with the match, and to hell with my wife,” said Triple H to the Road Dogg as he got into his limo and rode away. [wwf.com]

07/31/00 Monday Night Raw
Triple H arrived in a limousine without his wife as RAW kicked off live from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga.!

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley was shown arriving in a limo. Immediately, Triple H entered the ring with flowers in his hands. He said that he makes very few mistakes but acknowledged that his pride tends to prevent him from admitting them. The Game said that he made a mistake, and he apologized to Stephanie, saying she was his true love. Hunter asked her to come out to accept his apology.

Stephanie then entered, but she did not look happy. She didn't even look at Triple H right away! She told him he had no idea how he made her feel. The image of him and Trish makes her sick to her stomach. Stephanie said Hunter has ignored her in his obsession with Chris Jericho, but he has paid plenty of attention to Trish. The Game said that there has never been anything between him and Trish; he told her that of everything he's been through, nothing compared to the thought of Stephanie leaving him. Finally, Stephanie accepted his apology and the two embraced in the ring, only to be cut off by a sobbing Mick Foley!

Of course he wasn't really crying, and he said that everything he just saw was a huge load of horse crap! Then he showed the happy couple the footage of Triple H and Trish from SmackDown! Foley said he was sick of this marital spat becoming part of Foley's business, and that it was time to Triple H to pay the price, so he fined him $5000! But that was only a warning -- if Hunter ever walked out of a match again, Foley would fire him! Then the Commish booked the first-ever Husband-Wife Tag Team match with the Helmsley's against Lita and The Rock!

Later, Trish came in to Stephanie and Triple H's dressing room to set the record straight. She apologized to Stephanie and Steph politely accepted the apology…until Trish left the room! Then Steph said she was lying, and that she didn't like how Hunter and Trish were looking at each other!

As the Helmsley's prepared for their match, Triple H showed Stephanie some wrestling moves, and Stephanie asked to see the move that Hunter was showing Trish! As Stephanie bent down, Triple H almost fell, and said that Stephanie was a bit taller than Trish was! After talking his way out of that, the Game continued the lesson, but mistakenly called Stephanie by Trish's name! Upon hearing that, Stephanie walked out! The Game chased her down, but she just took her bags and left the arena.

Mick Foley saw Triple H and apologized, saying that breaking up his marriage was not his intention. Hunter asked to postpone the match, and Foley said no. The Commish also said that the Game's new partner would be Trish Stratus!

As Triple H readied for his match, someone knocked at his door. Hoping it was Steph, he ran and flung the door open, only to find Trish, asking to be shown some more moves. Hunter just looked at her and told her to get out!

In the main event, Triple H and Trish went up against The Rock and Lita. Triple H was obviously not happy about his paring with Trish, and he refused to even look her way initially. But after getting beaten by The Rock, the Game had no problem tagging Trish in. The Rock, not being one to fight a woman, immediately tagged in Lita, who nearly got the pin, until Triple H ran over and clotheslined her! Lita then took down Triple H and then tagged in the Brahma Bull. Triple H got to his feet and started beating The Rock, almost pinning him several times. The Rock kept coming back, and nearly pinned Hunter, had it not been for Trish's interference. Then, The Rock Rock Bottomed Trish and tagged in Lita, who got the pin. After the match, Rock nailed Hunter with a steel chair, knocking him into a very interesting position on top of Trish! The Rock was having the last laugh as RAW went off the air!  [wwf.com]

08/01/00 Internet Rumor
Despite what you hear, rest assured that the Triple H / Stephanie McMahon marriage will come to an end in the upcoming weeks. Stephanie will probably make it seem like they have reconciled, but will then turn on Triple H during a match.  [Jason Hamill]

08/03/00 Thursday Smackdown
As Triple H waited for his wife to arrive at the Birmingham Civic Center, Trish Stratus approached him and apologized for what happened Monday. The Game snapped at Trish, saying it was all her fault and that she was bad news. He then told Trish to get away from him.

Stephanie arrived at the arena, throwing a cold shoulder towards her husband. She told him to back off, saying she needed some space. As she walked away, Kurt Angle approached her and said that he’d be there for her if she needed a friend. Stephanie thanked him, and then asked where Trish’s locker room was.  Stephanie barged into Trish’s locker room, and Mrs. Game was on a rampage. She lambasted the lovely Trish, saying that if Trish came near Triple H again, she would take her apart. As Stephanie exited, Test exclaimed, “Thank God I didn’t marry that woman!”

The Women’s Champion then went back to her husband’s locker room, and told him they wouldn’t have to worry about Trish anymore. The Game wanted to talk things out with his wife, but Stephanie didn’t want to talk. Harvey Whippleman interrupted the proceedings to tell the couple that Commissioner Mick Foley wanted to see them in his office.

Commissioner Foley had a big smile on his face as Triple H and Stephanie entered his office. Foley said he was fining Stephanie for walking out on her match on RAW, and that if she did it again, she would be stripped of her Women’s Championship. Kurt Angle then entered the commissioner’s office, and Foley revealed that Angle, Triple H and Stephanie would be tag team partners later in the night against the Dudley Boyz and Lita in a no-disqualification match!

Triple H and Stephanie were about to change for their match when Stephanie told Triple H that she’d rather not change in front of him, and asked him to please leave.

Shane McMahon tried to make peace in the back between Triple H and Kurt Angle, and then he told them that if Stephanie went through a table, then they would both have hell to pay.

The main event of SmackDown! was the six-person, no-DQ match with the Dudley's and Lita taking on Triple H, Stephanie and Kurt Angle. Things were tense from the get-go, as Stephanie walked in front of Triple H instead of next to him, and seemed to be ignoring him. As the match went on, the tensions built. At one point, Buh Buh Ray got “that look in his eye,” and grabbed Stephanie, but Triple H saved her. With the men brawling on the outside, Lita grabbed Stephanie and readied to deliver a moonsault, but Triple H saved his wife and gave Lita the Pedigree, putting Stephanie on top of her. But Buh Buh grabbed Stephanie again, and this time, Kurt saved her. Stephanie then pinned Lita for the win as Triple H battled D-Von on top of the ramp. After the Game fought off D-Von, he looked towards the ring in shock – Stephanie and Kurt Angle were hugging and embracing in celebration!  [wwf.com]

08/07/00 Monday Night Raw
Stephanie was back in Angle's locker room talking to her good friend about gold.  Then, she warned him about Triple H's anger. Angle asked if Hunter raised his voice at her, she said yes, but because he was mad at Kurt. Angle just said Hunter needed to be more sensitive to her needs.

Joe came into Kurt Angle's locker room, saying that Triple H was disrespecting Kurt and his medals. Joe added that Hunter had made Stephanie cry! Kurt told
Joe that he would reduce the Game to tears!

In the ring, Stephanie asked her husband to come out so she could publicly apologize to him. Triple H came out, but did not look happy. She said that if they didn't argue about things, then it would mean they didn't care. After thinking about things for a minute, Hunter embraced his wife. Then, after they made up, Stephanie said they needed to talk business, and she called out Angle!

Angle came out and said he just wanted to do what was right. He said that everything that has been happening, especially last week's embrace, has all been happening in the heat if battle. Triple H told Kurt he might have Stephanie fooled, but he knew what Kurt was really up to. Stephanie interrupted, saying that if the Game really loved her, he would shake Kurt's hand. But before they could, Mick Foley came out to break up the "three-some."

Foley then replayed the embrace from last weeks SmackDown! The Commish said he was sick of hearing the whining about the personal relationships, so he was making a No. 1 contender match between Triple H and Angle!

The Rock came out to offer guest commentary for the triple-threat No.1 contender match between Angle, Jericho and Triple H. The battle was intense, with the emotions of all three men boiling over. They held nothing back and Jericho had the first shot at victory, getting Angle in the Walls of Jericho. Triple H just watched Angle suffer in pain, but finally had to break the hold so he could get a shot at victory. Finally, frustrations for Triple H took over and he and Angle started hammering each other! Both men then went after Jericho, giving him a double suplex. As both lie on top of Jericho, the referee counted the three, giving no clear vision of who won the match! Afterwards, the ref raised both men's arms in victory! The Rock frustrated with the call, entered the ring and gave both Triple H and Stephanie a Rock Bottom!  [wwf.com]

07/10/00 Thursday Smackdown
Who was the No. 1 contender?  Both Kurt Angle and Triple H came down to make their claims for the position, and Foley declared that they were both No. 1 contenders. He then made a Triple Threat Match for the World Wrestling Federation Championship at SummerSlam pitting Rock against Triple H against Angle!  But the commish wasn’t done. Seeing the animosity between Triple H and Angle – which centers around Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley – the commish decided to make the men tag team partners for the evening, against The Rock and the Undertaker!

The three competitors in SummerSlam’s main event – Rock, Triple H and Angle – tore into each other with the intensity of a Federation Title match. During the match, Stephanie hobbled to ringside, still showing the effects of the Rock Bottom she suffered on Monday. When Angle missed The Rock and hit Triple H with a maneuver by accident, the Game up and left, leaving his partner behind. Stephanie begged her husband to stay, but he would not. Surprisingly, Stephanie stayed at ringside to cheer for her friend Kurt Angle. With Triple H gone, it was now two-on-one, and Kurt was easy prey for the “Last Ride” and a pinfall at the hands of the Undertaker.

But it wasn’t over yet. When Stephanie came in the ring to check on Kurt, The Rock grabbed her and set her up for another Rock Bottom. Triple H then raced back to help his wife, and although he was able to save Stephanie, he still suffered a chokeslam and a People’s Elbow for his troubles. Stephanie cried at the top of the ramp, realizing that her husband had sacrificed himself for her, as the show ended.  [wwf.com]

There is some talk being given to a 3-way women's title match at SummerSlam, with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley defending against Lita and Trish Stratus. [Brandon Newman]

----- The Lita/ Trish/ Stephanie feud did not advance mainly because of concentration on other angles. Look for Lita to issue a challenge to Trish Stratus on Raw is War next week, or possibly on Smackdown. Trish and Lita have been rumored to go at it on August 27th, at SummerSlam. [Jason Hamill]

08/14/00 Monday Night Raw
Outside, Kurt Angle greeted Stephanie's limo as Triple H watched from his locker room. Angle thanked Stephanie for what she did on SmackDown!, and before Stephanie walked away, he kissed her on the cheek! The Game then met Stephanie in the hall and told his wife that he was sick of her helping Angle, and she replied by saying, tearfully, that maybe she should leave. Hunter told her she should!

Later out back, Stephanie got into her car as Shane chased her down. He told her he wanted her to stay, but she still left in tears. Shane told her he would call her later.  [wwf.com]

08/21/00 Monday Night Raw
The Commish reminded Stephanie that she was defending her Women's Title against Lita! Foley said he could tell by Stephanie's eyes that the match would be a brawl, so it needed a special referee - The Rock!

Later, Kurt Angle was heading home when Stephanie caught up to him. Kurt said he knew when he wasn't wanted, and that he was leaving. Stephanie said she
needed him to be there, so he said he'd stay, for her.  A few minutes later as Triple H and Kurt Angle tried to give Steph some pointers, Angle told the Game he was doing a move wrong. Stephanie asked Hunter to let Kurt show her the moves!

Kurt Angle continued teaching Stephanie some submission moves in the locker room. The two seemed to be having a pretty good time, when Triple H walked in and told Angle to back off!

In the battle for the Women's Championship, Stephanie faced Lita, with The Rock as special guest referee! Stephanie was accompanied to the ring by both Triple H and Kurt Angle, but The Rock told them both to get out of the ring. Lita immediately took it to Women's Champ Stephanie! Then, the Hardy Boyz came out to support Lita (and keep Angle and Triple H away). Stephanie impressively showcased several moves she must have recently learned and brought it right back to Lita! Both women got several near-falls. As Lita went for a moonsault, Angle knocked her off the turnbuckle! Angle then went to hand Steph the title to hit Lita with, but The Rock pulled him in the ring. Angle went to hit Rock, but knocked out Triple H instead! Then, the Great One hit Angle and Stephanie with a Rock Bottom! He told Lita to get Stephanie, so she nailed her with a moonsault and got the pin to become the new Women's Champion!  [wwf.com]

08/24/00 Thursday Smackdown
As SmackDown! kicked off from New Orleans, the former Women’s Champion appeared both irate and saddened as she made her way to the ring. Stephanie said that she always carried her title with dignity, honor and pride. She said that Commissioner Mick Foley only had one job on Monday, which was to appoint a fair and impartial referee, and he couldn’t even do that! Stephanie then declared that she wasn’t leaving until she got a rematch against Lita that night!

That brought Kurt Angle to the ring. Shame on Mick Foley, and shame on The Rock, said Kurt, and also shame on Triple H! Angle said that if it wasn’t for Triple H’s temper, then Stephanie might still be Women’s Champion. That caught the Game’s attention, and he headed to the ring. But he wasn’t in the mood to talk – he was in the mood to fight! Triple H and Angle brawled for a few moments until Commissioner Foley’s music hit.

The commish said he wanted to grant Stephanie a rematch, but he knew how much Triple H and Angle wanted a piece of The Rock. So he said he’d make a match pitting The Rock and Lita against Stephanie, Kurt Angle and Triple H. Then, realizing that a 3-on-2 match was unsportsmanlike, he said that it would be Triple H or Angle, and that Stephanie would have to decide which one it would be!

After both men had tried to convince Stephanie throughout the night that she choose them as her partner, Triple H went into Kurt Angle’s dressing room to have it out. Stephanie had to separate the two men, and seeing their strong emotions, she decided that the only fair way to choose her partner would be to flip a coin.

The main event pitted Lita and The Rock against Kurt Angle – who had won the coin toss – and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley.  A few minutes into the match, The Rock sent Kurt Angle into his corner with an Irish whip, knocking Stephanie from the ring apron. Stephanie hit her head on the ring steps and was knocked nearly unconscious. Triple H immediately ran to ringside to bring his wife to safety. He put her on a couch in the back and called over several EMT's. As his wife began to come to, the Game went to the ring seeking revenge. That would prove to be a mistake, as The Rock, the Hardy Boyz and Lita pounded on Triple H, leaving him lying.

It was also a mistake for another reason. As the Game was left lying in the ring, Kurt Angle went to the dressing room to check on Stephanie. He apologized repeatedly, and said, “you don’t realize how much I care about you.” Then, after giving her a hug, their eyes locked and Kurt kissed Stephanie on the lips! After a long embrace, Kurt smiled at Stephanie, and Mrs. Game looked at Kurt in shock as SmackDown! went off the air! [wwf.com]

08/27/00 SummerSlam PPV
During his match with Steve Blackman, Shane found himself falling from  the TitanTron that he had climbed to evade his opponent. Backstage, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley was frantic, wondering about the condition of her brother. Kurt Angle walked in to talk about what happened Thursday, but he ended up consoling Stephanie. Mick Foley walked in right when the two were hugging, and after laughing at them a bit, he took Stephanie to see her brother.

Later HHH entered her room backstage and asked her "What possible explanation can you have?" referring to the kiss that ended Thursday SmackDown.  Stephanie replied "It didn't really mean anything and there's nothing really to explain." Stephanie claimed that Kurt "took advantage of me".  HHH warned her to stay away from Kurt. She went on to tell HHH that he was "the only man for me", before he walked out of the room.

Triple Threat Match for the World Wrestling Federation Championship (No Disqualification, No Count Out): The Rock def. Kurt Angle & Triple H
Kurt Angle made his way to the ring first and declared that he would apologize for kissing Stephanie -- he was sorry that he didn't do it sooner! Triple H, who told his wife to stay backstage, appeared and went right after Angle. The Game dragged Angle outside the ring and Pedigreed him through the Spanish announce table! Triple H grabbed a sledgehammer when The Rock finally came out and the match officially got underway. While Triple H and The Rock battled in the ring, EMT's brought out a stretcher for Angle. Before they could get backstage, Triple H chased after them a wheeled Angle back toward the ring, pummeling him along the way. But The Rock attacked Triple H and while those two superstars battled, EMT's succeeded in getting Angle backstage, and this time Stephanie came out to check on the Olympic hero.

Then Stephanie made her way out to the ring, apparently to support her husband. Triple H told her to grab the belt, and he held The Rock. Stephanie came in the ring, but The Rock ducked and she hit Triple H! The Rock went after Stephanie, but was slowed down when he was low blowed by Triple H, who ordered his wife to return to the locker room. As both The Rock and Triple H lay recovering after the People's Champion superplexed the Game, cameras picked up Stephanie trying to talk a nearly unconscious Angle into going back out to help Triple H. Kurt agreed to return for Stephanie, and she went with him. At first, Steph's plan seemed to work, as Kurt tripped The Rock, setting up Triple H for a Pedigree. But when Triple H went for the cover, Kurt pulled him out of the ring and threw him into the steel ring steps! Stephanie was shocked and didn't even go help her husband! Later, Triple H asked Stephanie to get him the sledgehammer. Stephanie tossed it into the ring, and Angle grabbed it. Stephanie stepped into the ring, perhaps to prevent Angle from hitting her husband. Triple H wound up to hit Angle, but he ducked and the Game hit his wife! While Triple H checked on Stephanie, Angle clobbered him with the sledgehammer and went for the pin, which was broken up by The Rock. The Great One sent Angle flying outside the ring and then dropped the People's Elbow on Triple H and pinned him to retain the championship! After the match, the Game and his wife lay next to each other, both unconscious. Angle picked up Stephanie and carried her to the locker room, leaving Triple H behind. [wwf.com, owow]

08/28/00 Monday Night Raw
Backstage, Triple H paced back and forth, awaiting the arrival of his wife, who he apparently hadn't seen in 24 hours. Later as Triple H awaited his wife in the parking lot, his buddy X-Pac approached him and cracked a joke about Stephanie being in good hands. The Game wasn't in a joking mood though, and walked away from X-Pac.

Shockingly, Kurt Angle then made his way to the ring! He said that SummerSlam could have been the greatest night of his life, but the concussion given to him by Triple H ruined that. He brought up the fact that the Game hit his wife, and that The Rock then beat Triple H. Angle said that, of what he remembers, he came back to save Stephanie. He then called Triple H a shady character, saying that what he did to Stephanie was deplorable and borderline criminal. He said that Triple H was a lousy Federation Champion and an even lousier husband.

That brought out Triple H, who was as focused as ever. The Game said that Angle didn't get a concussion, he gave him a concussion! Triple H said he wouldn't kick Kurt's ass yet, because there was one thing he wanted to know -- Stephanie's whereabouts. The Game said that if Kurt didn't tell him, then SummerSlam would be nothing compared to what happened on RAW.

Kurt said he wasn't a kidnapper, saying he would leave the criminal activity to Triple H. Angle said he didn't remember anything from the previous night, and that he didn't know where Stephanie was. Triple H then called Kurt an ignorant jackass, but then said that he wasn't that dumb. He then demanded to know once again.

Kurt then reminded Triple H that he is an Olympic gold medallist, and he only speaks the truth. He then said that maybe Stephanie was scared of Triple H, or that she doesn't trust him, or that his punch finally knocked some sense into her, and she was finally seeing him for the bastard he is!

That was it. The Game knocked Angle from the ring, and although still suffering the effects of a concussion, Angle tried to fight back, but officials separated the two.

Michael Cole interviewed Kurt Angle in the locker room, and Kurt said again that he didn't remember anything about last night, not even carrying Stephanie away. Then, suddenly, things started to come back to him! He remembered being in a hotel lobby with Stephanie, and then being in a room -- Room 814, which he said was Stephanie's room!

Later in the evening Chyna went into Triple H's locker room and gave him some advice about relationships, telling the Game just to give Stephanie a chance. She said that trust was very important in her relationship with Eddie Guerrero. She and Triple H then hugged, and Eddie walked in and went ballistic! "Has everybody lost their mind around here?" asked Hunter as Latino Heat exited.

An irate Eddie Guerrero was approached by Kurt Angle, who suggested that he challenge Triple H to show how much he cared for Chyna. Then, Eddie Guerrero burst into Triple H's locker room, saying that Kurt Angle was right and that he would kick the Game's ass that night!

Still unaware of the whereabouts of his wife, Triple H headed to the ring to take on Eddie Guerrero, as Chyna watched on from the back. The Game soon went for a Pedigree, but Kurt Angle ran in and slammed both men in the head with a steel chair! Chyna ran out for the save, and Angle left the scene of the crime. Chyna checked on both men as Kurt watched on and smirked. Soon after, Angle left the Greensboro Coliseum. [wwf.com]

08/31/00 Thursday Smackdown
After four days away from World Wrestling Federation programming, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley made her return as SmackDown! kicked off from Fayetteville, N.C. Stephanie thanked the crowd for their concern as to her whereabouts, and for the record, she said that she was at Shane’s bedside as the “Boy Wonder” convalesced in a medical facility after SummerSlam. She added that she and Triple H were again in wedded bliss, and that the Game would arrive to the building shortly.

That brought out Kurt Angle, who said he admired Stephanie for putting on such a brave face after the way Triple H “mandhandled” her at SummerSlam. He showed the replay of Triple H slugging Stephanie, and he tried to convince her that it wasn’t an accident. He then showed the replay of Triple H and Chyna hugging on Monday’s RAW – footage that Stephanie hadn’t seen! Mrs. Game was irate.

Chyna then came to the stage and tried to tell Stephanie that Kurt was just manipulating her. Angle turned it around on the Ninth Wonder of the World, however, saying that Chyna attended to Triple H instead of Eddie Guerrero when Angle hit them both with chairs Monday night, again trying to show Stephanie that Chyna was trying to steal her man. Chyna then said she would shove Angle’s Olympic medals down his throat!

The Ninth Wonder of the World entered in the ring, and immediately, Stephanie got up in her face. Angle, who just seconds earlier said he would only hit Chyna in self-defense, snuck up from behind and executed the Olympic slam on Chyna! Eddie Guerrero came down to save his Mamacita as Stephanie and Angle scampered away.

Moments after the segment ended, Triple H arrived at the arena. He walked into his locker room to find Stephanie and Kurt. Kurt snuck out, and then Stephanie slapped her husband, asking why he didn’t tell her about his conversation with Chyna. Triple H then left and said he’d come back when he had cooled down.

An incensed Chyna and Eddie Guerrero went to Commissioner Mick Foley’s office, and Mamacita demanded a match against Kurt Angle. But the commish refused, instead putting Angle in a Triple Threat Match against both Eddie Guerrero and Triple H. Kurt Angle then approached Stephanie, hoping to clear up some confusion. He said that their kiss on last week’s SmackDown! was just what good friends do, and that’s what they are – good friends. Stephanie said OK, but she just needed space, and Kurt said he’d be there for her.

The Game returned to his locker room for a little chat with his wife. He admitted that he should have told her about his conversation with Chyna, and that he was wrong. Stephanie said that it was OK, and that she was just disconcerted because he and Chyna had a relationship in the past. But when Stephanie went to kiss him, Triple H pulled away, saying that Stephanie could get upset about him and Chyna, but that she and Kurt didn’t have a past relationship, so what’s up with their recent trysts? Stephanie said, again, that she and Kurt were just friends. But Triple H soon grew enraged, even throwing furniture around the locker room as Stephanie screamed at him to stop.

Just Joe entered Kurt Angle’s locker room and said that he’d just heard a lot of noise coming from the McMahon/Helmsley locker room. Angle hypothesized that Triple H had hit Stephanie again, and stormed away to check on his “good friend.” As Stephanie was getting some coffee backstage, Kurt asked if she was OK and if Triple H had hit her. Stephanie said she was fine, which led Angle to believe that she was just protecting her husband.

In the McMahon/Helmsley locker room, the Game apologized for losing his cool. He said that his wife meant everything to him, and that whenever he saw Kurt Angle with her, it made him sick. The two reconciled, and then there was a knock at the door. It was Fayetteville’s Finest, several police officers investigating a call of spousal abuse. They asked Triple H to go downtown with them for some questioning.

As Triple H made the long walk to the cop car, Stephanie swore up-and-down that she had nothing to do with the complaint. She even told the cops that she was the Game’s wife and that he hadn’t done anything, but the officers weren’t listening, and Triple H was driven away in the back of a squad car.

As he was being put into the car, Commissioner Foley approached Stephanie and said that the main event on SmackDown! would now be Eddie against Kurt in a singles match. He also said that it would be unfair for Chyna to be in Eddie’s corner if no one was in Kurt’s corner – so he demanded that Stephanie be in Angle’s corner.

The main event match between Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle was emotional and brutal, with both Stephanie and Chyna getting involved on several occasions. Finally, Chyna threw her Intercontinental Title into the ring for Eddie, but Kurt picked it up instead, clobbering Eddie and scoring the pinfall win. After the pin, Chyna clotheslined Angle to the outside of the ring. Stephanie then again approached Chyna and got in her face, screaming “Who the hell do you think you are?” That enraged Mamacita, who then delivered a DDT to the Game’s wife! Kurt saved Stephanie and helped her to the back as SmackDown! went off the air. [wwf.com]

09/01/00 Internet Rumor
Various sources have reported to me that Stephanie McMahon now holds heat with several women wrestlers (the names were not mentioned) about comments made by the women toward the "Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley" character. Reportedly, one women joked that Stephanie was being portrayed as the companies "easiest girl." Another women reportedly said "Test, Triple H, Kurt Angle, who's next?" Stephanie McMahon was said to have taken the words personally, and did indeed confront the two women about their past comments. Apparently, no other problems have occurred between Stephanie and the "other women" since the reported incident. This story is not yet confirmed, and I will report more as news becomes available. 09/04/00 Monday Night Raw
The first couple of the World Wrestling Federation hit the ring as RAW kicked off from Lexington, Kentucky. He spoke of the humiliation of being questioned in the police station while Chyna was beating up his wife. The Game said that it was unacceptable, and said he wasn't leaving the ring until he got answers -- specifically, who filed the complaint with the cops. Triple H said it was time for payback.

Commissioner Mick Foley then came out, saying that he also wanted to get to the heart of the matter. He accused Stephanie of trying to get rid of her jealous husband! Stephanie said that Mick had some nerve, saying that she went through incredible trauma when her husband was in jail. Foley then said that putting the Game in jail would require a calculated plan, which he said would eliminate Stephanie!

Mick went on to question possible suspects Kurt Angle, Chyna and Eddie Guerrero.  Eventually Foley said that all the suspects were out, but no one was willing to admit their guilt. He said he wanted to see what the 15,000 fans in Lexington thought. The crowd seemed pretty clear in their verdict -- they thought it was Kurt Angle! Foley demanded that Angle come with him to see the authorities.

Out came Trish Stratus and Test. Test said he had a confession to make -- one he's been waiting to make since Nov. 29, 1999, the day Test was set to marry Stephanie before the Game ruined the festivities. Test said that Triple H's Thursday was just as bad as Test's Nov. 29 -- and then test admitted that he had called the cops!

Mick Foley said that since Test called the cops, he was making a match for the night pitting Test against Triple H! Test said fine -- because paybacks were just like Stephanie, a bitch! Test, Triple H and Angle then brawled in the entranceway!

Prior to his match against Test, Triple H told his wife, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, to remain backstage so she would be out of harm's way. The Game threw Test and Albert out of the ring as the match began, and was about to deliver a Pedigree to Trish Stratus when Test saved his valet. As Stephanie watched the match on a monitor backstage, Kurt Angle snuck up behind her and watched on -- she didn't even know Kurt was there. Soon after, Triple H hit the Pedigree on Test and pinned him for the win. After the bell, the Game gave Albert a Pedigree for good measure. Stephanie then ran out to congratulate her husband. 09/07/00 Thursday Smackdown
Still irate over Test calling the cops on him the week before, Triple H battled T&A in a Handicap Match. As the match progressed, Trish Stratus tried to get involved, but Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley pulled her off the ring apron and slapped her. That made Test mad. Test grabbed his former fiancée and was about to powerbomb her when Kurt Angle came out to save Stephanie. Kurt knocked Test into the ring steps. Albert then grabbed Angle, but the Olympian knocked Albert woozy, allowing Triple H to score the Pedigree for the win. [wwf.com]

09/11/00 Monday Night Raw
The Game came out to the ring with no idea as to who his opponent was, although Foley did say it would be a suitable opponent. The opponent: Chris Jericho! The two men took it to each other with all they had in a brutal and bruising affair. Midway through the match, Stephanie walked out to cheer on her husband. Her appearance distracted the Game, and allowed Y2J to apply the Walls of Jericho! Triple H escaped, but only in time to watch his wife be pulled back to the locker room by Kurt Angle!

Soon, Hunter left the ring to get Steph away from Angle. Jericho stood alone in the ring, but not for long, as X-Pac ran out and delivered an X-Factor to Y2J, giving Jericho the DQ win! Hunter went into the ring to confront X-Pac, but things only got uglier, with X-Pac slapping the Game and Triple H knocking him down!

In a handicap match, gold medallist Kurt Angle challenged T&A. Kurt dedicated the match to Stephanie, and told T&A that they were disgusting and worthless! Test and Albert took it to the Olympic gold medallist, and they knocked Angle out of the ring, where Trish Stratus started kicking him! Then Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley came out and grabbed Trish and threw her down! But soon, Steph was trapped between Test and Albert, until Triple H ran out to help her! After running off T&A with some help from Angle, Triple H turned around to see Angle helping Steph to her feet!

Angle and Triple H immediately started brawling, and Stephanie tried to separate the two men! Triple H accidentally knocked down Stephanie with a fierce elbow to her head! Angle and Hunter took out referees in order to get back at each other! Then, Angle pushed Stephanie off the ring apron, knocking her out! Triple H went over and picked up his wife and started to carry her to the back. As he walked up the rampway, Angle nailed Hunter from behind, knocking out both Triple H and Stephanie!

In his locker room, Triple H was checking on Stephanie when Mick Foley came in. Foley told Hunter that the fighting needed to stop, so he was booking a match. At Unforgiven, Triple H and Angle would go one-on-one! And just to make sure that this would end it all, Foley appointed himself referee for the battle! [wwf.com]

09/13/00 Internet Rumors
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley was complaining of back pains after RAW and after last night's Smackdown! tapings in Phoenix. She was hurting from some spots from RAW (especially the bump to the outside of the ring on Monday when her back hit the top of the ring apron awkwardly), and was going to be given the rest of the week off but decided to work. [Eric Loy]

09/14/00 Thursday Smackdown
Again, Foley tried to explain his plan for the night, but Kurt Angle then came down and said that the Federation Championship hunt paled in comparison to the bigger issue, namely Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. Angle said he doubted that Triple H could control himself. Then, the Game ran to the ring, but he didn’t want to talk, he wanted to fight. Foley held Triple H back.

Finally, with the six key players for Unforgiven surrounding him, Foley was able to reveal his plan. He was going to put opponents together as tag team partners, with the stipulation that if anyone were to attack his partners during their match, their Unforgiven bout would immediately be canceled.

Later, Triple H barged into Commissioner Foley’s office and said that he simply couldn’t have Kurt Angle as a partner. Foley said that he better do it; otherwise, their match at Unforgiven was off.

Prior to their match against Triple H and Kurt Angle, T&A tore into their opponents verbally, with Test saying that Triple H got his leftovers, and Albert saying that Kurt Angle’s medals were won in the Special Olympics.

Midway through the match, Stephanie came to ringside, and she soon got involved in the match, grabbing Test’s leg. Trish pulled Stephanie off and shoved her to the ground. Angle then came over to check on his "friend." The Game saw this and grabbed Angle, preparing to slug him. But realizing the stipulation that Commissioner Foley had added to the match, Triple H held back. As Angle egged him on, Test snuck up behind the Game and suplexed him for the pin. After the match, Triple H was enraged, and Angle just smiled sadistically in the aisle way. [wwf.com]

09/18/00 Monday Night Raw
The historic final broadcast of RAW IS WAR on USA Network kicked off with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley coming to the ring, with just six days left until her husband and her good friend face off at Unforgiven. Mrs. Game said she was going to put an end to something which should have been ended long ago. She spoke of Nov. 1999, when Stone Cold was run over by a car (which she denied doing), and when she married Triple H, and when Kurt Angle made his World Wrestling Federation debut.

Stephanie asked Commissioner Mick Foley to come out and cancel the match between the Game and Angle at Unforgiven. She said that if the match was on, she would be a very unhappy woman. Instead of Foley, Kurt Angle instead headed to the ring. Angle told Stephanie that he admired her courage to come in front of such a hostile Chicago crowd. But Angle then said that the match must take place at Unforgiven so he could teach Triple H a lesson. He said that even though he was the one recovering from a concussion, that Stephanie was the one who had lost her memory. He then showed footage of Triple H and Trish Stratus, set to the tune of the Game's own music!

He then said that he would give up the match if Stephanie just said the word, but before she could answer, out came Triple H. The Game seemed calm, cool and collected -- quite a difference from his usual demeanor towards Angle. Triple H made fun of Angle's "little package," and then said that NBC's Dick Ebersol had put together a package for him. But first, the Game said that maybe he was wrong about Kurt Angle! Maybe it was a big misunderstanding -- after all, said the Game, what kind of guy stands in front of a hot girl and just wants to be friends? Triple H said it was OK if Kurt played for the other team!

The Game then played his footage -- some "questionable" footage from the Olympic Games in 1996. Specifically, the footage consisted of Kurt in some interesting positions with fellow male wrestlers, and Kurt crying like a baby after winning the gold medal! As the crowd chanted "sissy," Triple H suggested that Angle open the closet door ... But before he could go on, Commissioner Foley headed to the stage. Foley said he respected Angle's amateur skills, but nonetheless, he and the Game again poked fun at the footage! He said that after Angle played for the U.S. Olympic team in 1996, what team was he playing for now?

The Game said that the match at Unforgiven HAD to take place. And he then said that in Chicago that night, T&A and Trish Stratus would face Triple H, Kurt Angle and Stephanie!

As Triple H and Stephanie prepared for their match, Kurt Angle came in and said he'd be there for Stephanie. He then told Triple H to try to go a week without hitting his wife. The Game then told Angle to try to go a match without hitting on him! Stephanie, Angle and Triple H then took on T&A and Trish Stratus. In the heat of battle, Angle soon tagged Stephanie, putting her in the ring at the same time as Test! But it was Triple H to the rescue, taking Test on. Stephanie soon slapped Test, who then piefaced his former fiancé. Trish then came into the ring and gave Stephanie a bulldog. Test then went for the top-rope elbow on Stephanie, but the Game broke that up and threw Trish to the outside. Triple H then gave Test a Pedigree, and put his wife on top of Test for the pin! After the match, an ecstatic Stephanie hugged Kurt Angle, which proved to be a big mistake. The Game snapped and viciously attacked Angle. [wwf.com]

09/21/00 Thursday Smackdown
In the McMahon/Helmsley locker room, Stephanie and Triple H talked about Stephanie’s pinfall win over Test on Monday night. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and a messenger delivered a bouquet of flowers to Stephanie! The flowers were from Kurt Angle – which led Triple H to say that the florist must have been out of pansies!

Shane McMahon made his return! The Boy Wonder said that as he convalesced in a hospital alone after SummerSlam, he used Stone Cold as his inspiration for coming back. After all, he said, if Austin could come back from such a major injury, then surely Shane could come back from this minor setback. To thank the Rattlesnake for the inspiration, Shane said he would help Austin find his attacker at Unforgiven. And just for the record, the King of Sting pointed out that he was first on the scene when Austin was hit, and therefore couldn’t be considered a suspect himself. Shane then proclaimed that he actually knew who had hit Austin, and that he would tell him at Unforgiven!

Stephanie was watching her brother’s speech in the back when Triple H sat beside her. The Game asked if she had seen Shane’s promo, and she said yes, and that Shane probably did know who hit Austin. Triple H was actually talking about the part where Shane said he had been in the hospital alone – after all, didn’t Stephanie say that she was there with him, as opposed to spending the night with Kurt Angle? Stephanie said that Shane was probably just remembering incorrectly, since he was seriously injured from falling almost 50 feet. Stephanie then questioned whether her husband trusted her, and then she walked out of the locker room.

The main event on SmackDown! pitted Chris Benoit, Kane and Kurt Angle against the unlikely team of The Rock, Triple H and the Undertaker. As expected, tensions boiled over, and all four participants in the Fatal Fourway Match at Unforgiven soon brawled to the back, leaving Triple H and Kurt Angle. When Stephanie got up on the ring apron to talk to the ref, Kurt Angle accidentally bumped into her. As the Olympian checked on his friend, Triple H rolled him up for the win. After the match, Triple H cried in ecstasy, mocking Angle’s reaction to winning the gold medal in the 1996 Olympics. But when the Game went to check on his wife, Angle surprised him with an Olympic slam, and then brutally attacked him with a sledgehammer.

Then, Kurt Angle grabbed Stephanie and gave her a big kiss on the lips! As Triple H lay in a near unconscious state, Angle grabbed the microphone and said, “Why don’t you ask your wife if I kiss like a pansy? [wwf.com]

09/22/00 Internet Rumor
I was at the UPW show in Santa Anna, and as you know, Kurt Angle was featured in the main event. He defeated "The Fallen Angel," Christopher Daniels with the Olympic Slam. However, I hung around outside to get a picture with him, and he walked out of the Galaxy Theatre with none other than Frosty Moore, a.k.a. Mandy from the Save The Ho's Campaign. They were arm in arm and giggling while walking to his rental. He then came over to sign autographs and take pictures with a few fans. Frosty waited patiently for him and when asked what was going on with her and Kurt, she replied that she had "stolen him from Stephanie." They then departed in his rental van with Bruce Pritchard. Now you can take this for whatever it's worth, but they seemed like an item to me. (Brian Rogers) [Jonny Farrer]

09/24/00 Unforgiven PPV - Triple H def. Kurt Angle
Commissioner Foley came out to referee the match, which he had announced earlier in the night would be a no-disqualification affair. Kurt Angle followed, and he grabbed a microphone to announce that it was Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley's birthday. He led the First Union Center crowd in a rendition of the "Happy Birthday" song. The birthday girl came out with her husband, whose ribs were heavily taped after Angle brutally attacked him last Thursday on SmackDown! Both competitors utilized the no-disqualification stipulation to their advantage. Triple H went for the Pedigree on J.R. and the King's announce table, but Angle low-blowed him, picked him up, and gave him a belly-to-belly suplex, throwing him through the Spanish announcers' table! Stephanie went over to check on her husband, shoving Angle in the process. Foley checked on Triple H as well, asking him if he wanted to give up. But Triple H said he'd continue. Back in the ring, Angle went to work on the Game's ribs. Still, Triple H managed to kick out on two after the Olympic gold medallist suplexed him off the top rope. At this point, as Angle slapped on the abdominal stretch, Triple H was bleeding from his mouth, and he appeared to be cut near his right eye as well. After Angle missed a moonsault off the top rope, Triple H recovered enough to go for the Pedigree, however, he could only use one hand, as his left arm was also badly injured. Stephanie entered the ring, and Triple H told her that she needed to choose between him and Angle. Stephanie paused for a moment, and then walked behind Angle and kicked him with a low blow! This time, Triple H ignored the pain and he administered the Pedigree with bold hands. The Game went for the pinfall and won the match! After the match, Stephanie seemed concerned, and she even walked over to check on Angle. Triple H grabbed his wife and kissed her in a forcible manner. He left the ring; Stephanie didn't follow him initially, but after a few moments she joined him in walking back to the locker room.

09/25/00 Monday Night Raw
Kurt came to the ring and said that at Unforgiven, he almost lost his friend Stephanie after she kicked him in the genitals. Almost, because friendship includes forgiveness. But Kurt said he was angry because Triple H forced himself on Stephanie, and that Triple H wasn't a man. Then Kurt demanded a re-match later on RAW! Foley thought over the request for about a half second and denied it!

In their locker room, Triple H and Stephanie talked about Unforgiven. Hunter asked Steph what was wrong, and she said she couldn't believe he didn't know. She said that at least Kurt sang her "Happy Birthday", but Hunter did nothing. The Game told her that her present was at home waiting for her. Then Stephanie asked Hunter about the kiss at Unforgiven. She said it was rough, not loving. Triple H said the kiss was to prove to Angle that she was his, and that he had kicked Angle's ass for her as well!

In the first-ever World Wrestling Federation main event on TNN, The Rock had his Federation Title on the line against Chris Benoit, who was accompanied to the ring by Shane McMahon! As Shane distracted the Great One by running around the outside of the ring, Benoit took advantage and started punishing The Rock, even scoring two near-falls! While Benoit distracted the referee, Shane interfered liberally, hitting The Rock whenever possible. The Brahma Bull attempted to battle back, but Benoit countered everything he tried. While Rock had Benoit pinned, Shane pulled referee Earl Hebner out of the ring. Hebner immediately went after Shane, and ended up getting slammed on the floor himself! While he was out, The Rock knocked out Shane and Benoit knocked out Rock. When Benoit went to hit Rock with a chair, he accidentally hit Shane. Immediately, Stephanie McMahon ran to the ring to check on her brother. Triple H followed and ended up getting hit by Benoit himself! Then, The Game threw Benoit to The Rock, who nailed the Rock Bottom as Hebner got up to count the pin! As Triple H and Rock stared each other down, Kurt Angle ran out and assaulted Hunter.

The Rock tried to help the game, but ended up getting beat up by Benoit! After Benoit and Angle beat both down, Stephanie slapped Kurt Angle! Then Benoit came over and head-butted Stephanie! Benoit calmly walked away as RAW went off the air! [wwf.com]

09/28/00 Thursday Smackdown
Chris Benoit interrupted Foley’s speech, telling the Hardcore Legend that he was a terrible commissioner, and that he made unfair rulings. Benoit demanded a title match against The Rock that night, and demanded that it be one-on-one. He said that Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, Triple H and Kurt Angle ruined his one-on-one match on RAW, and he demanded that Mick give him another match … or else.

That brought Kurt Angle to the ring. The American Hero had a much different opinion of Foley, saying that he was a great commissioner and a snappy dresser. He asked that he be able to face Triple H one-on-one on SmackDown!, not just for him, but for his hometown fans – many of whom he said were out on bail just to see him!

Angle then tore into his former partner Benoit, saying that Benoit had blown his chance at the World Wrestling Federation Championship and that he was a coward for attacking Stephanie. Angle said that it was bad enough that Stone Cold Steve Austin was back – they didn’t need Vince McMahon back too! Angle suggested that Benoit be fined and suspended instead of given a title shot after his actions towards Stephanie on Monday night. The Olympian then ended his rant towards the Wolverine by questioning Benoit’s claims that he was the best technical wrestler in the world – “Where are your gold medals?” asked Angle.

The commish said he would grant both men’s wishes. He made a tag team match pitting Angle and Benoit against Rock and Triple H. Then, as Benoit went to leave the ring, Angle attacked him!

Triple H approached The Rock backstage prior to their tag match and said that past history aside, he just wanted The Rock to get the job done. The Rock told Triple H to prove that he was that damn good. Triple H told The Rock to just bring it. The two superstars’ tag-team match against Angle and Benoit was up next. The momentum shifted on numerous occasions, and each man was full of intensity. At one point, The Rock and Triple H had a little competition at the announcer’s table to see who could bounce their opponents head off the table harder!

The Rock wound up in the ring with Angle and a steel chair. But as the Federation Champion prepared to knock the Olympian into next week, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley snuck up behind The Rock and grabbed the chair from him. As The Rock questioned the Game’s wife about her actions, Angle surprised The Rock with an Olympic slam and scored the pin! Even more surprisingly, Stephanie clapped for Angle after the match as SmackDown! went off the air!  [wwf.com]

10/02/00 Monday Night Raw
In their locker room, Stephanie asked Triple H why he was being so quiet. Hunter just told he had a bad feeling - something was not right.

As triple H readied for his match, Stephanie asked him if he was feeling any better. Hunter said he still had a bad feeling, and he asked her to stay in the back, so nothing would happen to her. He left her and as she walked away, she ran into Chris Benoit, who asked her how her head was feeling after that head-butt he gave her last week! Stephanie slapped Benoit as hard as she could!

To determine the No. 1 contender, Triple H battled Kurt Angle. Triple H beat Angle ferociously, even taking off the bandage over his ribs to choke him! Kurt reversed his fortunes, taking the offensive outside the ring. As the action moved back inside the squared circle, Angle scored several near pinfalls. Then, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley came to ringside, against her husband's wishes! She rooted her husband on as he tried to put the Pedigree on Angle, but Kurt just reversed it into another near-fall. The Game finally recovered and put Angle through the announce table! Angle then went to punch Hunter, but hit the referee instead! As Triple H went for the cover, Chris Benoit came to ringside and grabbed Stephanie! Triple H went to save his wife and started throwing Benoit around the outside of the ring. With the referee still down, Angle threw Hunter back in the ring and tried to hit him with a chair, but Stephanie grabbed it from him! Then, Benoit grabbed the chair and hit Triple H with it, allowing Angle to get the win and the No. 1 contender spot! After the match, Triple H berated Stephanie for coming to ringside, and then he walked away, leaving Stephanie alone in the center of the ring as RAW went off the air! [wwf.com]

10/12/00 Thursday Smackdown
Triple H seemed surprised to see his wife arrive at the arena, since he had told her to stay back at the hotel. He told Stephanie that she was trouble at ringside, and that she had cost him the No. 1 contender match on RAW. Stephanie fired back, saying that it was Benoit, not her, who cost him the match and the title shot at No Mercy. The Game then said he wanted to separate his business and personal lives, and said that while he still loved Stephanie, she was not to come to ringside during his matches anymore. He called his wife a liability. A teary-eyed Stephanie walked out of the locker room.

Stephanie was about to leave the Baltimore Arena, but she stopped just as she was getting into her limo. It seemed like she didn’t want to leave.

In six-man action, Too Cool and Rikishi faced off with Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian. Prior to the match, Kurt talked about the roll he has been on lately -- specifically, his pinfall wins over The Rock and Triple H. He compared his streak to that of Baltimore’s own Cal Ripken, but said that unlike Ripken’s streak, his streak actually meant something! During the match, Scotty 2 Hotty nailed the Worm, and Rikishi hit the Stink Face on Angle. But when Grand Master Sexay went for the Hip Hop Drop, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley ran to the ring and pushed him off the top rope! Sexay was then easy prey for the Olympic Slam and a pin by Angle!

Stephanie then returned to the McMahon/Helmsley locker room to find her husband irate at her helping Kurt Angle. Stephanie confronted the Game, saying that she was a McMahon, that she was born into the business, and she knew just as much about the business as he did, if not more. That’s why she helped Kurt, she said – to show him so. Triple H then said that she could have been hurt, and Stephanie said that the only thing hurting her was him. She then walked out.

As Stephanie was about to get into her limo and leave, Kurt Angle stopped her to thank her for her help earlier in the night. He said that Triple H was crazy and that Stephanie was a real asset at ringside. He then asked Stephanie to accompany him to the ring on a permanent basis as a business partner. Stephanie said she’d think about it. She then thanked Angle for appreciating her, and drove away. [wwf.com]

10/09/00 Monday Night Raw
In the McMahon/Helmsley locker room, Triple H complained to his wife about being teamed with one of his enemies, Chris Jericho, against his best friend, X-Pac, and Chris Benoit. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley reasoned that he needed her at ringside for that very reason, but the Game said no because it was too dangerous. He then said that he was glad that Stephanie had decided not to accompany Kurt Angle to ringside on a permanent basis. Stephanie looked confused as the Game headed to the ring, since she had never actually made that decision!

In a battle of unlikely tag teams, Triple H and Chris Jericho took on X-Pac and Chris Benoit. Soon after, the Game was knocked from the top rope, and the Wolverine picked up the pin!

Backstage, Commissioner Foley was questioning Edge & Christian about the attack on Stone Cold when Triple H barged into the office and demanded a match against Chris Benoit. Foley said he would make the match for No Mercy. Triple H went back to his locker room, where Stephanie confronted him with the fact that he hasn't been winning much since he asked her to stay in the locker room during his matches. The Game looked irate. [wwf.com]

10/12/00 Thursday Smackdown
D-Generation X and the Radicalz had a reunion of sorts when former DXers Triple H and Road Dogg teamed up to take on former Radicalz Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn. The Game was able to finish Saturn off with a Pedigree to win the match, but Triple H’s night was just getting started. Benoit soon locked him in the Crossface, and was able to keep him in the hold for a long period of time. The Game looked to be injured when Federation officials finally got Benoit to relent.

Clearly in pain, Triple H went back to his locker room to find his wife, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, still complaining about him not allowing her to be at ringside. The Game looked at his wife and said simply, “What part of ‘no’ don’t you understand?”

Next, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley came to the ring and introduced the man who she said she would now accompany to ringside on a permanent basis – Kurt Angle! Indeed, Stephanie’s first match at Kurt’s side would be a success, as her distractions allowed Kurt to pin Kane’s shoulders to the mat! The 7-foot monster was so irate after losing to Angle that he chokeslammed two referees!

The main event on SmackDown! was a Federation Championship Match between The Rock and Val Venis, accompanied by Steven Richards. Before the match began, Kurt Angle and Stephanie came out to the stage, and Angle said that it was perfectly reasonable that the same Los Angeles crowd that believed O.J. was not guilty also believed that Rock had nothing to do with Austin’s attack last November. That enraged the Federation Champion, who ran after Angle, only to be attacked from behind by Venis. Venis had control early, and Mr. Richards interjected himself into the match on several occasions. But in the end, it was The Rock who retained his title with a spinebuster and a People’s Elbow. After the match, Angle took advantage of the fatigued champion, delivering two Olympic slams, much to Stephanie’s amusement. [wwf.com]

10/16/00 Monday Night Raw
A limousine pulled up with in the parking lot, and Kurt Angle eagerly greeted it. His new business partner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley got out, and told Kurt to grab her bags, which he eagerly did!

In the McMahon-Helmsley locker room, Triple H asked Stephanie why she was still assisting Angle. She said that when they had talked about it at home, she told Hunter she'd reconsider - like he told her he would do. But since he won't, she would continue to help Kurt. The Game asked what would happen if she was hurt. Steph just told him that it was a chance they'd have to take. The Game said he wouldn't be able to control himself if she got hurt somehow, and he walked away.

In his locker room, Triple H told Kurt that Stephanie was his responsibility - if she got hurt, it was Kurt's fault. Secondly, Triple H said, if Angle tried to make it anything other than a business relationship, it would be the last thing he ever did! Angle said okay, but smirked as the Game walked away!

As Triple H was set to battle Kane, Chris Benoit came out to offer guest commentary. His entrance distracted the Game, who was immediately hammered by Kane. As Triple H was getting brutalized, Stephanie, who was watching in the back, told Kurt she needed to help Hunter because she knew Benoit would interfere. Before she could leave, Angle convinced her to stay in the back.

In the ring, Kane continued to beat on Triple H. But after being down for most of the match, the Game came back and started throwing punches at the Big Red Machine. While Kane lie prone, Triple H went and attacked Benoit at the announce table! Then, Hunter gave Kane a Pedigree, only to get nailed by Benoit with a chair! After getting Triple H back in the ring, Benoit locked him in the Crossface, which the Game immediately tapped out of!

Stephanie pounded on Kurt Angle's locker room door, telling him he wasn't focused. Angle looked overwhelmed and sighed deeply when Stephanie kept telling him he needed to focus more so he could beat The Rock. Stephanie then came to the stage and introduced next Sunday's HEAT host, the man who will interview The Rock and then beat him for the Federation Title, her new business associate, Kurt Angle!

Angle said it was that the Joe Louis arena was famous, but not because it was where Stone Cold was ran down, but because it is the arena that Kurt Angle made his debut in! Stephanie said she would lead Kurt to the title, just like she led her husband there! Then Kurt went to the ring, where he would team with Edge and Christian against the Hardy Boyz and The Rock!

The three-way tag team main event was action-packed. The Rock came out with his fists flying, nailing Edge and Christian and begging Kurt Angle to get into the ring. Angle got the tag and pummeled The Rock, as Triple H watch on from his locker room. As The Rock continued to be held back from making the tag, Edge came in and mocked the Hardy's! The Rock was finally able to make the tag, and Matt Hardy entered the fracas and took out both Edge and Christian, even nearly pinning Edge! Again, Angle got the tag and had several near-falls on the isolated Matt Hardy. After recovering from some severe blows, Matt was able to tag in The Rock! The Rock was a house on fire, and had Angle pinned, but the referee was distracted by the Hardy's and Lita fighting Edge and Christian on the outside of the ring. When the ref turned around to make the count, Stephanie pulled The Rock's leg, ending the count. Then, Jeff Hardy went to hit Angle with a Swanton Bomb, but Stephanie hit him in the knee before he could! Lita saw what she did, but Stephanie took the Women's Champions and slammed her into the ring stairs!

When all was said and done, Kurt Angle pinned The Rock for the win, with a lot of help from his partner Stephanie! The two celebrated as RAW went off the air! [wwf.com]

10/19/00 Thursday Smackdown
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley then arrived at the arena and immediately sought out senior official Earl Hebner. The Game was irate at being put in a Four Corners Match with The Rock, Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle just days before facing off with Chris Benoit at No Mercy. Hebner informed Triple H that he hadn’t made the match – Commissioner Foley had. The Game then left to find Foley.

The Game and his wife were complaining about the Four Corners Match to Commissioner Foley when Kurt Angle came in, also to complain about being in such a high-impact match so close to No Mercy. Foley informed all three that Rock and Benoit weren’t happy with the match either – but it was what the fans wanted to see, so he had no choice but to go through with it!

Backstage, Kurt Angle told Stephanie that he was concerned for her safety during the Four Corners Match. Stephanie told him not to worry. Kurt then asked Stephanie what would happen if the match came down to him and her husband, Triple H. Stephanie said that she would do the right thing. Kurt seemed happy with the answer at first, but then seemed perplexed by the response.

In the McMahon/Helmsley locker room, Triple H told his wife that he didn’t want her at ringside for the Four Corners Match. Stephanie told the Game that it wasn’t about what he wanted. Triple H told Stephanie to remember who she was going home with after the match. Stephanie repeated to Triple H what she had told Kurt Angle earlier -– that she would do the right thing. And like Angle did earlier, the Game seemed confused by what exactly that meant.

The main event of SmackDown! was the highly anticipated Four Corners Match, featuring Triple H, The Rock, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit. If the match was any indication, then No Mercy is going to be one of the most intense Pay-Per-Views of all time. The men battled both inside and outside the ring, and there were clearly no friends during the war. Ultimately, The Rock hit the People’s Elbow on Triple H. But when he went for the pinfall, Stephanie pulled him out of the ring. As Stephanie tried to get away from the Great One, Angle snuck into the ring and scored the pin on Triple H! After the match, Benoit locked the Game in the Crossface, while The Rock put Angle in the sharpshooter! Stephanie entered the ring and looked confused as to who she should help, her husband or her business partner. Finally, Federation officials got The Rock and Benoit to relent – but then Benoit put The Rock in the crossface! Chris Benoit was the last man standing at the end of the fray, a scene which has no doubt turned up the intensity with No Mercy just three days away on Pay-Per-View! [wwf.com]

10/22/00 No Mercy PPV - Triple H def. Chris Benoit
As the match started, Triple H immediately went after Benoit's left knee. He isolated it for the first several minutes of the match, and just when it appeared that Benoit would be unable to walk, Triple H hurt his left arm, and the Wolverine went to work on that -- culminating with a head butt off the top rope, with Benoit diving right in to Triple H's hurt arm. But Triple H seemed to get a second wind after that, and he went on to superplex Benoit off the top rope. Moments later, Benoit delivered a belly-to-back suplex into a bridge. But neither man was able to get the three count. So Benoit went for a submission, and he locked in the Crossface. Triple H wouldn't tap out, and he eventually he stood up and got out of the move by delivering a Samoan drop to Benoit. Just then, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley came down to the ring, in spite of the fact that her husband had told her not to. She slapped Benoit, and then, as the Wolverine and Triple H tangled back and forth in the ring, Stephanie distracted the referee, and the Game low-blowed Benoit. That allowed him to deliver the Pedigree and win the match, and Stephanie returned to the locker room satisfied.

World Wrestling Federation Championship: Kurt Angle w/ Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley def. The Rock
As Kurt and his "business partner" Stephanie made their way to the ring, announcer Howard Finkel said that the match would be no disqualification -- an announcement that even caught Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler off guard.  So Stephanie interfered liberally, choking The Rock over the middle rope at one point -- while her husband watched backstage on a monitor. Later, The Rock locked Angle in the Sharpshooter, and the Olympic gold medallist tapped out, but Stephanie was distracting the referee, and a frustrated Rock eventually broke the hold and went after Ms. McMahon-Helmsley. But Stephanie couldn't stop The Rock from bouncing Angle's head off the announcers' table repeatedly and then grabbing J.R.'s water bottle, taking a drink and spitting it in Angle's face. Stephanie grabbed the Federation Championship and threw it in to the ring. Angle missed his first attempt but, on his second try, clobbered the champion with the belt. But the People's Champion was somehow able to kick out on two. Moments later, Angle kicked out on two as well, after a suplex by The Rock. At this point, both men were bleeding -- Kurt Angle from above his left eye, and The Rock from the forehead, where he was hit with the title belt. After The Rock hit Angle with a spinebuster, he set him up for the People's Elbow, but Stephanie entered the ring and got right in the champion's face. Stephanie wouldn't relent, and so the Great One gave her a Rock Bottom! He went for a People's Elbow on her, but this time Kurt Angle interrupted. Triple H sprinted from the back, tossed Angle out of the ring and then Pedigreed The Rock before carrying his unconscious wife back to the locker room. Angle eventually climbed back in the ring and covered The Rock, who was miraculously able to kick out on two, as was Angle after a DDT from The Rock a few moments later. As the two superstars tangled outside the ring, Rikishi -- still bloodied in spite of the fact that he had a wrap around his head -- came down to the ring and attacked Angle in an attempt to help The Rock. Back in the ring, Angle got the Rock Bottom, but he kicked out! Rikishi entered the ring and tried to splash Angle in the corner, but he got The Rock as well! When Rikishi tried a martial arts kick, he inadvertently hit The Rock again! Angle ducked another martial arts kick attempt from Rikishi and then gave the big Samoan an Olympic Slam. Angle then picked up The Rock and gave him an Olympic Slam, and then pinned him to become the new World Wrestling Federation Champion! Angle cried tears of joy as he celebrated -- much like at the 1996 Olympic Games -- while The Rock looked on in disgust.

10/23/00 Monday Night Raw
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley introduced the new WWF Champion Kurt Angle to the fans. A chorus of boos welcomed Angle. Once the new Champion got a hold of the microphone, he told the fans that he has accomplished more in one year than most people do in their entire lives. Only two months into his year, Angle captured the European Championship. Two months later, Angle won the Intercontinental Championship. Four months after that, he became the 2000 King of the Ring. And finally, last but not least, Kurt Angle defeated The Rock for the WWF Championship. Angle then read a poem that he wrote to the fans. However, he didn’t get very far into it before Mick Foley interrupted.

Foley claimed that he was there to add to Angle’s celebration. He asked for applause for the new Champion from the capacity crowd. He then pointed out that something was missing – a congratulatory hug. Foley then gave Angle a big hug. An emotional Foley then told Angle that he had to defend his title against Triple H and The Rock that very night.

In the final match of the evening, Kurt Angle defended the WWF Championship against Triple H and The Rock. The match’s start was delayed by Kurt Angle who forced his two opponents to wait for him because he’s the Champion. Once the match finally got under way, it was Kurt Angle being attacked by both Triple H and The Rock at the same time. In fact, Angle was on the receiving end of most of the punishment throughout the entire match. Triple H, who was almost taken out of the match after being hit by the ring bell, nearly captured the Championship after hitting Angle with a Pedigree. However, The Rock quickly pulled Hunter off of Angle before the official could count to three. Triple H returned the favor to The Rock after Angle was hit with a Rock Bottom. The match ended when Rikishi ran to the ring interfered, hitting Angle with several punches. After the match, Stone Cold Steve Austin made his way to the ring and attacked Rikishi. He then gave the Champion a Stone Cold Stunner as RAW went of the air. [wwf.com]
