QUALITIES IN A MAN:
High integrity, good moral character, and a great sense of humor.

Teri grew up in Atlanta and practically lived in the stables in which her dad raised Arabian horses. Attending college in Arizona, she devoted much of her time to speaking out against cruelty to animals and the inhumane treatment of Greyhounds and Saddlebred horses.

Eventually the aerobics bug kicked in, and Teri went from a student to an instructor. She entered herself in numerous fitness competitions, including the Ujena calendar swimwear contest and Miss Fiesta Bowl for the Arizona Sun Devils.

Teri met Kimberly Page, who worked out in the same gym. Kimberly approached her with the idea of joining her new Nitro Girl troupe. Teri wowed everyone at the audition and got the position. Her family and friends were obviously shocked that she was going to dance

for a wrestling company after spending 5 years at a cushy mortgage company job. "I was always the straitlaced good kid out of all my siblings. Everyone thought I went off the deep end."

Two weeks later, she and six other complete strangers debuted on NITRO. For two and a half years 'Fyre' appeared on Monday nights with the Nitro Girls until January 2000. At that time, with a change in the WCW management, as well as troupe leadership (Kimberly left the Nitro Girls), Teri decided it was time to move on.

"The concept of the troupe changed, and the direction they wanted to take the girls in really changed. It was too difficult for me to go along with those changes. Being one of the originals, I really put my heart and soul into the group, and I didn't feel good about what was being done. One week we're excited to be back and dancing, the next I'm getting mashed potatoes thrown at me and I'm wrestling."

Dissappearing for almost a year, Teri resurfaced with several other ex-Nitro Girls (Spice, Paisley, Tygress, and Chae) to begin a singing career with their new group called Diversity 5. She is also actively involved with the development of her new comic book 'Nytro' by Gypsy Press, that is based on a bounty hunter.

Tygress isn't bitter about the release from WCW and there is a possibility she may be brought back later on. She understands the position WCW is in since they were just bought out and business is business.

She stated that since the 5 former Nitro Girls that make up the group (Diversity 5) all had a very good chemistry together, they wanted to maintain something together and decided to try starting a pop group. The group is mostly pop/rock but they don't want to set up any boundaries and they try to venture into different styles, but it is all stuff you can dance to.

They have a two track CD available at their website Diversity5.com right now and they plan on releasing a full CD sometimes this fall.  Fyre is handling most of the business aspects of the group at the present time.  All the members are still open to offers from other wrestling companies. Press Release February 16, 2001 - Atlanta, GA - Teri Byrne Signs Contract with Gypsy Press Comics:

On February 16, 2001, former WCW Nitro Girl and current Diversity5 member Teri Byrne signed an exclusive agreement with Gypsy Press Comics for a three issue mini-series.

Gypsy Press CEO and Publisher Peter Salamone has released the following statement: "We are proud to announce the signing of Teri Byrne for a three issue mini-series. When we were approached by her publicist in early December, we had a conceptual framework in mind for a new cutting-edge character. We were holding off, however, for something special, a catalyst so to speak. Teri Byrne is that 'spark' we were looking for. Besides her knock-out looks and strong fan following, Teri has significant experience in the world of Fantasy, which is something you just can't find in your average model."

Regarding the signing, Teri Byrne stated the following: "I am very excited about this new project. The storyline that Gypsy Press has proposed is strong, intricate, and highly detailed. My character will be a modern day, 'bad ass' bounty hunter with 'extra' abilities which are sure to take everyone off guard. I can't give away the details just yet but, rest assured, the surprises will be worth waiting for!"

Teri Byrne began her entry into fantasy during the summer of 2000. She collaborated on succesful projects with acclaimed artists such as Dorian Cleavenger, Monte Moore, Ric Frane, and Deacon Black. More recently, Teri has modeled for artists including Matt Busch, Tom Fleming, Matt Hughes, Lloyd, and Brian Rood. A compilation of her fantasy artwork will be published in the debut issue of Femtropolis magazine, tentatively scheduled for April 2001.

The Teri Byrne comic will be formally unveiled at Wizard World 2001 in Chicago, Illinois, on August 17. The first issue will subsequently hit stores nationwide in September. With a "who's who" staff of artists, the creative vision of Peter Salamone, and the character portrayal that only Teri Byrne can provide, this series is sure to be, for lack of a better term, HOT as fire.
