Birthday: December 7, 1972   Birth Place: Freeport, New Jersey   Height: 5' 6"   Weight: 120 lb

Tammy Lynn Sytch at 5'6" and 120 lbs. began her career in 1992 with Jim Cornett in the now defunct Smokey Mountain Wrestling Promotion of Knoxville Tenn. Within the next couple of years the WWF picked her up and gave her the name of Sunny and her career skyrocketed. Unprepared for the fame and adulation as the 'sex symbol' in that organization she turned to prescription drugs to help her cope. Soon the rumors began that Sunny was having more and more personal problems which included not making scheduled appearances and she was quietly dismissed in late July of 1998. Just a few days later in August, during an ECW PPV, Tammy shocked the wrestling world as she announced that she was no longer with the WWF and that she was going to be with her fiancée Chris Candido. Those of us who couldn't get ECW were mighty disappointed that we would no longer be able to watch this saucy young lady do her thing.

She was back in wrestling and going to be better than ever. Sadly this was not the case. By December the rumors started flying around that Chris Candido and Tammy were looking for greener pastures in the WCW or going back to the WWF. Over the next several months it was seriously being questioned as to what their real status was with any of the major organizations. They appeared at the ECW 'Guilty As Charged' PPV in January 1999 as a good feud between Tammy and Francine started up. Even though they were still appearing on ECW shows the couple were rumored to be negotiating with the WCW and WWF, but no one was signing a contract.

Other problems were being made public as it was reported that Tammy had been arrested for violating a restraining order that her mother had placed on her and that Chris & Tammy had also been suspended from the ECW. For the next several months things were not looking good as the rumors abounded once again that "they were signing here", "no they were going there", "they signed a contract with the WCW", "the deal fell through" etc., etc. Television appearances with the ECW were very spotty. In her TNN ECW interview televised in October 1999 Tammy stated: "When I first left the WWF it was like a whole weight was lifted off my shoulders. I took too much advantage of being able to sit home and not do anything. I felt too relaxed in my environment. Too relaxed to the point where I did take my first drink. My first drink was at home when there were no more pills to make you go to sleep. There were some nights that I was hoping I wouldn't wake up the next morning. It was the worst feeling in the world, the worst feeling in the world, to know that you don't care if you wake up the next morning or not."

October 1999 - The ECW announced that Tammy would be coming back. There were a few conditions placed on the return, but it looks like we might once again get to see Tammy Lynn Sytch at her best. During her ECW TNN interview she ended with this statement: "You can talk about your Sable's, you can talk about your Debra's, you've got your Nitro Girls, you've got your Dawn Marie's, but I'm going to set the standard by which every girl in this business is judged. Again. Cause girls, I'm alive and I'm back.

2000 - Another year of problems, 3 wrestling organizations (ECW, XPW, WCW), not much action and a ton of 'rumors'.

2001, 2002, 2003 - Nothing but rumors and Tammy posing nude with Missy Hyatt over at the now defunct wrestlingvixxens.com pay site.

2004 - Tammy announces her retirement from pro wrestling and says that she's going to become a flight attendant.

While Chris Candido was in Japan, Tammy Sytch's appendix burst, and she let it go for 2 days after it broke before going to the hospital. Tammy then stayed in the hospital for 11 days. Sources say that Tammy’s original hospital stay had something to do with her kidney and liver not functioning properly, but that is not the case. The fact of the matter is she did get out of the hospital on the same day she worked a show with Chris Candido was on. She is now looking better than ever. [Steve Carrier]

According to EWN Tammy Sytch, last seen in WCW came just inches away from death this past week. The former WWF and ECW bombshell was rushed to hospital with a suspected burst appendix. Doctors gave her just hours to live but she soon bounced back to make a full recovery. Tammy was released from the hospital Friday morning and has worked shows with Chris Candido over the weekend. On a side note Candido and Sytch have signed a one-year deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling that will officially go into effect in the month of March. [Ryan McGavock]

Chris Candido was announced for this year's New Japan Pro Wrestling Top of the Super Juniors tournament to be held in late May/early June. Candido's website had announced he and Tammy Lynn Sytch had signed a deal with the promotion several months back and would debut in March 2001, which did not happen. Candido later told me that Sytch was not signing with the promotion (which does not use valets) but may make the trip to Japan with him. [Ryan Clark]

If you're a regular EBay surfer and a Can/Tam fan, I'm sure that you've seen the item titled, "Hang out with Tammy "Sunny" Sytch at WWFNY!!" posted by a seller calling his or herself "The Ultimate Fan Experience."

The offer claims that the winner will receive a prize package full of merchandise relating to Tam's previous gimmicks, and will then have dinner with her at the wrestling themed WWF New York restaurant "for a couple of hours." This is not true in the least bit. More information can be found at www.CandidoSytch.com

04/19/02 Internet News - Posted by the Winnipeg Sun
One of the first divas of wrestling says many of the women in the World wrestling Federation haven't got a clue what to do in the ring.

"I think it's stupid," Tammy Sytch -- better known as Sunny -- told The Sun from her home in New Jersey. "It's too much. There are way too many girls not knowing what they're doing."

Sytch ranked Terri Runnels as one of the best in the business but wasn't as high on some others.  "I love Torrie and Stacy, but they don't really know what they're doing -- otherwise they're sweethearts," she said. "One person who I can say is a wonderful person and a great worker is Molly Holly."

Sytch, who left the WWF in 1998 after seven years, was the first woman to get a huge push. By 1995, it was estimated fans were downloading her pictures between 3,000 and 5,000 times daily from the WWF site.  In 1996, Sunny was the first celebrity in the history of cyberspace to achieve the one-million download mark, leaving Cindy Margolis in the dust.

The WWF quickly added Sable and Marlena (Terri), and its female roster has grown to a dozen. Playboy magazine also noticed the demand, featuring Sable and Chyna for a couple of their best-selling issues ever.  "(WWF boss) Vince (McMahon) brought the Playboy idea to me, and I said no, I was too young, so they gave it to Sable," Sytch said. "But I had (the offer) first."

When asked "Would she like to return to the WWF?" the sultry vixen replied "Yes, I plan on it. I have the perfect idea." [Doug Lunney -- Winnipeg Sun, OWOW]

09/13/02 Internet News
Tammy Lynn Sytch (formerly known as Sunny) got into it with Low Ki. As you may or may not know, the world of wrestling lives by it's own code and ethics. Especially in the indie scene. There are very many rules of respect. One of which is to give up your seat for someone with more time in the business, especially if it's a female. So what happened was Low Ki refused to remove himself from a chair Tammy had been sitting in previously. She then made several rude remarks and hit him with her shoe. Originally it was thought that Low Ki was at fault. This was later corrected by witnesses writing in to say that he remained calm while Tammy snapped on him. It was said that he tried to avoid confrontation, at first. Later Tammy's boyfriend Chris Candido got involved, but was told though that he was expected to "keep his woman in check". Trish Stratus added to her accomplishments (WWE Champion, 2001 Babe Of The Year, 2002 Babe Of The Year) Tuesday night at the Raw 10th Anniversary TV show, by winning the Diva Of The Decade award.  She was up against nominees Sable, Sunny, Lita & Chyna, a very formidable group of women who have become icons in the industry. 02/06/04 Internet News
Tammy Sytch, better know as "Sunny" to WWE fans has announced on the USA Pro Wrestling message board that she is retiring from wrestling and will become a flight attendant. Here is what she posted on the USA Pro Wrestling message board:

"I AM RETIRING THIS YEAR. IT'S ALMOST 14 YEARS IN THIS BIZ, IT'S NOT FUN OR WORTH THE AGGRIVATION ANYMORE. I HAVE A FEW MORE SHOWS AND TWO OVERSEAS TOURS BOOKED, AND THEN I AM BECOMING A FLIGHT ATTENDANT. MY LEG HASN'T FULLY RECOVERD FROM A YEAR AGO DECEMBER 5TH---I TORE MY RIGHT QUADRICEP MUSCLE IN TEXAS IN A MATCH, AND I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO TRAIN CORRECTLY FOR A YEAR NOW. SO, YOU CAN SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT MY CURRENT PHYSICAL CONDITION, BUT I AM INJURED AND I REALLY DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT OPINIONS. IF YOU DON'T APPRECIATE MY WORK AND WHAT I'VE DONE FOR THIS BIZ, THEN, GET UP AND GO TO THE BATHROOM DURING MY MATCHES. I REALLY WON'T MISS THIS STUFF BECAUSE IT BASICALLY IS A CRUEL AND DEMEANING BUSINESS. IT DID A LOT FOR ME AND CC, BUT I DON'T HAVE THE PASSION FOR IT ANY MORE. SO, MAYBE I CAN SERVE YOU ALL A DRINK AND PRETZELS ON CONTINENTAL AIRLINES!! TA TA FOR NOW--TAM" [Usa Pro Wrestling, PWinsider.com, RajahWWF.com]

WebMaster's Note:  Good, then she won't give a #@*# about my opinion.  Tammy Lynn Sytch could have been one of the "ALL TIME" greats in the world of wrestling Diva's.  Instead - whether her choices were consciously made or she was a victim of circumstances like she would like us to believe - she became one of the worst examples in how to maintain and stay on top of the game!!

04/29/05 Internet News
In some sad and shocking news coming out of the wrestling world, TNA Superstar Chris Candido passed away at the age of 33 due to complications related to recent surgery he underwent after breaking his leg on Sunday night. Chris died from an apparent blood clot in his leg after undergoing surgery to repair a broken leg, which he suffered Sunday night at the "TNA LOCKDOWN" PPV in Orlando, Florida. Early Friday morning, Chris Candido's brother Johnny posted the following message to fans on the USAProwrestling.net website:

"I find it only fitting you hear the truth from me about the death of my bestfriend, brother, and soulmate. Chris died tonight due to a blood clot brought on by complications with his surgery. I just want to tell everyone that in their sorrow, find a way to be happy that he went out the way he wanted to...on top of the world, blonde, tan, and loving life up until the last minute. Every ounce of my brother loved this sport, and for him to go out 2 or 3 years ago wouldn't have been a fitting end to the life of such a determined, passionate, and benevolent human being. I truly view my brother as an angel as will all who knew him. Thanks to everyone for all your positive press, Chris went out a happy man and will forever live on as the(one of) greatest of all time. He would have had it no other way." PowerWrestling.com

07/19/06 Internet News - Tammy Sytch Appearance and Weight Loss
There is a legends show in Kokomo, IN on 10/7 featuring Tammy Sytch, Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake, Larry Zbyszko, Koko Ware, King Kong Bundy and Kamala.

Speaking of Sytch, she's lost a good amount of weight in recent months and she's probably at her lightest weight in several years. Though she's not in "Sunny Shape" quite yet, she's looked noticeably slimmer in her most recent appearances. She looked lighter than usual at an indy show in which she wrestled on last Friday. Also, she was seen wearing a very tight pink miniskirt at a wrestling convention last month. Sytch currently works a desk job at a New York area Gold's Gym. The convenience of her working at a gym has most definitely played a part in her weight loss in recent months. PowerWrestling.com WrestlingObserver.com

12/15/06 Internet News - Tammy Sytch Appointed Commissioner
Tammy Sytch was recently appointed to be the new commissioner of the New Jersey-based NWA Shockwave promotion. Posted on the NWA Shockwave web site 12/01/06:

What if Hilary Clinton were president of the United States? Would she be effective as the commander in chief of the world's most powerful nation? Could she handle the responsibility of being the leader of free world? Or, would she fold under pressure in a testosterone filled environment?

While the world will have to wait for an answer until the final votes are counted in the next presidential election, NWA SW management has officially announced the appointment of federation commissioner to Tammy Sytch.

"Tammy is a veteran of this industry", explained Shockwave Chief Operating Officer Fred Rubenstien. "She's performed around the globe for a number of years and has been actively involved in every major wrestling organization of the last decade. We have full confidence in her decision making abilities and feel that she is the most qualified candidate to be the central authority figure in dealing with both the male and female superstars of NWA Shockwave. The management team welcomes her aboard and looks forward to her impact in the re-launch of the organization."

Although Sytch was unavailable for comment, she has been hard at work in the preparations for Shockwave's debut show "...And Justice For Brawl: The Billy Firehawk Memorial Show" set for January 13th, 2007 at the Boonton Elks Lodge in Boonton, NJ.

Stay connected to www.nwashockwave.com during the re-launch in 2007, as our reporters will conduct an exclusive interview with the new commissioner to discuss her outlook on the new NWA Shockwave.

10/23/07 Internet News - ClubWWI Interview
One of wrestling's most successful and controversial female personalities ever, Tammy Lynn Sytch, stopped by ClubWWI.com for an explosive interview. Living up to her reputation as someone who doesn't sugar-coat anything, the former Sunny spoke about a number of topics with James Guttman including getting screwed over by Paul Heyman, Vince McMahon playing a woman, frustration with overly grief stricken fans, The New ECW, bombing her first WWF tryout, "The Perfect Couple," today's Divas, the worst mistake of her career, the woman who doesn't deserve a mention, her backstage role in the original ECW, her fascination with midgets, and more.

One of the most interesting subjects addressed during this no-holds-barred ClubWWI.com shoot was the Bret Hart-Shawn Michaels controversy. One of the biggest moments from that battle included Shawn claiming that Bret was seeing some "Sunny Days" recently. This lead to a huge blowout and all sorts of allegations thrown regarding Hart's relationship with Sytch. James asked Tammy about this and she responded:

"Nobody knew this but….Shawn and I had a nine month relationship. As soon as we stopped seeing each other, all of a sudden, for some reason he got in his warped mind that I was seeing Bret Hart. I have no idea where he got this from. Nobody has any idea where he got this from cause I wasn't. Not at all. Bret and I were friends. I think it kinda came about, Bret Hart is a loner. He really does his own thing. The whole lone wolf thing is really him. He doesn't like to be around the boys. So a lot of the times on the road, when I was the only girl on the road, I had my own locker room. Well, Bret had asked me, "Do you mind if I change in your locker room because I really don't want to be around the guys?" I said, "Not at all. It's no big deal." I mean, I'm not in there the whole time anyway, just to change. So basically, my locker room became Bret and Sunny's Locker Room. When I wasn't in there, he was in there. When he wasn't in there, I was in there. It was no big deal. It was understood. He wanted his privacy, he didn't want to be around the guys. Well, a lot of people took that as "Oh, they must be doing something," when it absolutely was not. So Shawn got it in his head that something was going on and that gave him some ammunition against Bret 'cause they actually hated each other."

Tammy goes on to say that she wasn't even in the building the day that the "Sunny Days" line was first mentioned by Shawn and was surprised to know her name was involved. She also goes on to talk about Michaels today, whether she's spoken to him since, and more in her ClubWWI.com interview.  ClubWWI.com

12/10/07 Monday Night Raw - Bridgeport, Connecticut - Raw 15th Anniversary Show
To start off the show Vince wanted to take a family portrait that included Stephanie and Shane. Of course Triple H had to come out and break into the action and inform vince that it should be a portrait of those that he loves or has loved, such as some of the Divas. The Diva of the p[ast was a most pleasant surprise as Sunny came strolling to the ring.

She actually looked in decent shape, considering some of the pictures we have seen in the past few years, still yummy and looking sexy. Throughout the night they played several vignettes of Sunny during her WWF years. It was nice to see her back in the ring, and being described as the first modern era Diva.

12/20/07 Internet News - Sunny WWE.com Video
WWE's official website has posted a video feature on Tammy "Sunny" Sytch at this link. It's edited together to look like a video they'd play on television.

In the video Sunny talks about her return to WWE at the Raw 15th Anniversary show. She said it was "awesome." She said she was so nervous on the way to Raw that she was actually shaking in the car, but as soon as she arrived to Raw, she was cool again. She said it was great to meet a bunch of new people at Raw. A number of the new wrestlers went up to her and gave her a lot of respect. The video then shows exclusive footage of Sunny mingling with new & old stars backstage at the show.

The video then talks about Playboy. Sunny said she was the first Diva to be offered to do Playboy, but she was too immature & shy at the time and that it was something she was not ready to do, so she turned it down. She said a few years later she made a decision "to do a website" (in reference to the infamous Wrestling Vixxxens website), but she was not ashamed of it. When she looks back at the Playboy offer, she thinks it was something she maybe should have done at the time because it would have boosted her career, but at the time, she simply wasn't ready.

The mood of the video then turns somber as it segues into the "dark days" of Sunny. She notes that some things beyond her control occurred. "Back in 2001 I got very sick. I had pancreatitis and that screws with your entire system. And then back in '05 a certain someone passed away (in reference to longtime boyfriend Chris Candido), and uh, that screws with your system as well. And you know, I put on a couple pounds, I'm gonna admit it. I didn't look like Sunny anymore and yeah, I kind of needed a break from the business all together." To depict the "dark days," the segment displays footage of her in WCW.

She said she wants "one last run before she packs it in for good." She said she watches WWE programming sometimes and she sees all these gorgeous girls out there who are doing what she should be doing. She said it "kind of gets under your skin." She said she should be right there with them. She said she was tired of being lazy and that she was going back to the gym so she could "look like me" again.

The video closes with her saying "I'm ready to go out there and do my thing and entertain the millions and millions of WWE fans. That's all I want." Rajah.com

12/20/07 Internet News - Sunny Talks About Returning To WWE Full Time
Earlier this week Tammy "Sunny" Sytch was a guest on "Fight Network Radio" (Hardcore Sports Radio, Sirius Channel 186). She had a lot to say about the possibility of returning to WWE full time, her appearance at the RAW Anniversary special and much more. Here's what Sunny had to say about a number of topics:

Getting Back In Shape: I actually have to give all the credit to my boyfriend. He’s the one who got my butt back in the gym, got my ass in gear, got me back on my old diet. And pretty much got me back into shape, back into “Sunny shape”. And it’s great, because Monday night I’m walking around the show and seeing all my old friends and co-workers, and they were like, “You look like Sunny from 1997. You haven’t changed a bit.” Little do they know it took a lot of work like Sunny again (Laughs).

Returning To WWE Full Time: Well, I don’t want to jinx it, I don’t want to say too much, I don’t want to put any false ideas out there. But there were a few very important people that I spent some time with on Monday, so you never know. You never know what can happen in the WWE. And you know my old saying: “What Sunny wants, Sunny gets.” And Sunny wants another contract. (Laughs) So, we’ll see what happens.

I’m still good for one more good run on TV and that’s what I’m hoping to get out of this whole thing. So, you never know, we’ll see what happens. But having that little taste of the limelight and a little taste of the crowd going crazy really brought back to my mind where I belong and what I should be doing, and that’s working for the WWE and being on TV again.

Beating Her "Demons": I really don’t know exactly what the turning point was. Everything changed in my life almost overnight, and I don’t know. I just became a different person altogether. And one thing led to another and it caused me to get healthy and get back in shape. So, whatever it was that actually changed my life I’m very grateful for. PWinsider.com
