About the Role
We’re looking for a Director of Architecture to lead design strategy and execution across our multifamily portfolio — from concept through construction. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, development, and construction, shaping how our buildings look, feel, and perform.
Responsibilities
Lead architectural design for multifamily projects through all phases — concept, schematic, design development, and construction documentation.
Manage internal design team and coordinate with development, construction, and engineering teams to align design intent with cost, schedule, and constructability goals.
Oversee design quality, code compliance, and building performance standards.
Serve as the key architectural liaison with city agencies, consultants, and project partners.
Champion innovation in mass timber, modular systems, and sustainable urban housing design.
Support project feasibility and early-stage design analysis for new developments.
Qualifications
Licensed Architect (California preferred) with 10+ years of experience, including leadership in multifamily or mixed-use housing.
Strong understanding of Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV, and Type V construction, building codes, and entitlement processes.
Experience managing in-house teams and external consultants.
Proficiency with Revit/BIM and collaborative design workflows.
Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, design-build environment.
